Listen, I know that he punched her, but they can be awful together! I always thought their chemistry was INSANE. He never looked at Kate like he did with Jeanette. It also helped that Jeanette, until after their breakup, never made him question whether or not that he was good enough to be with her. Kate did, but it wasn’t always Jamie's fault? Like he was a good boyfriend, but at the end of the day, she wanted someone with their life together and someone who understood where she was at in life. Jamie never did. He always had a lot more in common with Jeanette and her eyes always sparkled when they were near each other. They were so sweet together the first time and I thought them getting back together was probably going to be the only good thing coming at the end.
