“You gotta Inspire them before you educate them”
Stan Walker
Precious, precious, precious human being! Love you Stan Walker - Whakamoemiti!!! Thankful you are who you are! :-)
Said it like a champ.
It’s seriously really sad that the idea of him being brown or too brown was unappealing to them. It’s great he finally went back to his roots and did him.
To much Stan, always be true to who you are, where your from, know your roots, heaps of aroha to you 🥰💖
Profound and astute knowledge of what it's like to be a "brown person in a white world." more segments like this please.
He Ain't Lyin 😄🖤✊🏾
Stan, you are such an inspiration. Thank you
Sad to hear ppl made him feel he needed to be someone else to succeed. I think what makes Stan special (apart from his obviously amazing voice) is his personality and who he is. I'm pretty sure those record label guys have no idea how things are changing. The whole social media thing and TH-cam proves ppl want to see more "real" ppl. More ppl watch TH-cam instead of regular tv now to see regular ppl not whitewashed cookie cutter ideals. I think shows like Idol and The Voice started it. The idea of seeing more real talented ppl instead of fake unrealistic pop singers that are all the same.
love your transparency Stan♥️🤍🖤
Fantastic interview 👏 👌

And yet there's a heavy metal band of boys who look more European than maori, they sing in Te Reo Maori, and are embraced nationaly and internationally as representing Maori's. Yet sadly here you are being told you're too brown? 🤦 Need I say more.... 😠 Smdh
It's was Australia that was telling him to be Less Maori not NZ mate there a big difference between the race relations in both countries. I bet that heavy metal band your comparing Stan too ain't from Australia?
@@jamesmartin9711 my comment doesn't mention that it was New Zealand discriminating against him. It's a figure of speech.
@@poppypocket8732 Just letting the cuzzies know it was the Old Heads in Australia and not NZ bro
Australian Idol and Pop Stars always pushed for a white winner just after Guy won
He nearly lost to the "coolest 17 year old on the planet" 🤦
We are all people all colours Jesus does not look at colour he is just against sin
SIN is the problem not colour
Be true to your self is what your people are 😂😂😂
2 dislikes must be from pakeha hahaha
Can we not assume that it’s probably from a pākehā please! This is how we start race wars between our people. Let’s just leave the assumptions and enjoy Stans kōrero. Be humble and forget about the amount of dislikes, people nowadays are too concerned about things that aren’t necessarily worth stressing over.

Wait till he gets older and finds out the truth that he is just one of many, haha
What number were you of the fifth litter. lol
@Wàka Waata Herbs was doing it in the 80's and Anika Moa was doing it in the 90's and this fool thinks he's the first Maori singer to be Maori Original.
@@mcgruff3309 So Herbs and Anika Moa started their careers in Australia being told not to be too brown aye clown. GTFOH
@@jamesmartin9711 Your the only clown around here, son, haha
@@mcgruff3309 Awww didn't you get your bone today you poor mut hahaha
Not gonna dismiss what he's saying but isn't it weird that he blames his grandiose pop persona on whitey. I swear 6 months ago he was playing the spirituality driven 'we are one' projection, and now it's all Maoridom from a guy who barely spoke a peep to it before. Can't blame a narcissist for its attempt at relevance I guess.
