One of my girlfriends in HS much to our protest, drove home after a few. However she decided she wanted Taco Bell which was maybe a few blocks. On her way back she hit a massive checkpoint at a major intersection. She was totally oblivious though and the light turned green. She said she noticed no one else was going but didn’t think much of it. The cops were flagging her and chasing after her and the next red pulled out of her car, as they do her car keeps rolling through the intersection. It was a mess. They got like 10 of our classmates that weekend alone. I swear I’m the only one I think from my year to never. I just never really drank and when I do I’m lazy and stay home 🤷🏻♀️ lol
I was helping my parents move back into my childhood home. I was going back to my home, I made it down the road, I ran a stop sign. That put me in the hospital for 2 months. Not a fun experience
Credit to Daniel for calling Devon on the age thing. Yeah, Devon was still young when he did this, but he was still an adult, and that meant he needed to go to adult jail. For young adults who are not repeat offenders, sometimes having to spend time around people who committed crimes makes you realize you don’t want to do that again.
Nah I’ve heard stories some cops will have a change of heart halfway through scaring you straight and be like what if I do lock them up for real yeah.. yeah
He was taken against his Will and confined for a unspecified period of time. If you ask me that’s an arrest by definition. Being scared straight was just a product of his arrest
You know youre screwed when there is a trainee there. Thats the worst thing lol. I got pulled over once for barely speeding... and they have to do everything by the book when that happens. So bam ticket. Only speeding ticket in my life lol. And my buddy.. same situation... got arrested for having stuff in the car .. but not even that much. Something any other cop wouldve let go... but since a trainee was present. Jail. lol Its crazy.
The best cop to get pulled over by in my experience is someone who looks younger and is super calm when approaching, the ones that clearly aren’t trying for an arrest. I got pulled over for forgetting to turn my headlights on, and he even asked my why I was shaking, I just said I was nervous because I had very recently had a bad experience with that town’s pd. We had a good conversation and he even admitted a lot of the older cops there were assholes to everyone so he wasn’t surprised. For a wee bit of context I was heading home from work and stopped at a gas station to get some stuff and that’s when I forgot my lights. I’ve had way more good and chill encounters with cops than bad, but the bad ones stick out, and usually some old school hardass “EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK” cop is the worst and I think about more.
This helps explain why we need prison reform. I'm very glad he was able to get out that same night, and I respect the hell out of Devon. I was essentially in the same situation as him at the same age, but I could not afford a lawyer at the time. @@jmika5984 Nope, two wrongs don't make a right. Lack of employment often leads to said individuals to drink even more and commit more crimes, since poverty is intrinsically correlated to crime. It would only backfire, thus increasing the number of individuals driving drunk.
This is genuinely my worst nightmare. I don't drink so I don't have to worry about it but like, my brother spent a weekend in a situation like this and it's fucking intense. He said one of the guys in there was on a medication for his schizophrenia and they were refusing to give him his meds so he was like a mixed bag on the verge of losing his shit all 4 days. Yes he was young but he knew what he was doing was not only wrong but illegal!! There are consequences to your actions. I don't care if you're famous or not. A lot of people have suffered a lot worse for less. He got off super easy, I'm glad he at least realizes that.
You missed the part where he said he wasn't really at the limit to where it'd be a DUI. Only reason it was a DUI was because he was under 21 so nobody was in serious danger.

Ned's Declassified DUI Survival Guide
This police officer watching this now: “Thank fucking god I retired last year”
Yall could do an adult survival guide in a form of a podcast.
I love their reactions.
My brother is law got pulled over for a DUI in his driveway 🤦🏽♀️
I feel like if I ever saw Devon in real life I wouldn’t be sure if it was really him 😅 you know?
Wtf I didn’t even recognize these were the guys from the show I could’ve met all of them and had no idea
Ned out here snitching on the cop that cut him a break lol
