Comparing Magura MT5 and MT7 Brakes

A really common question in the shop - what are the main differences between the Magura MT5 and MT7 Brakes?
Both the MT7 and MT5 share the same claimed weight from Magura. Weighing them in-store provided similar results.
Both feature forged aluminum calipers for maximum strength and weight savings.
The Magura MT7 utilize the Magura Series 8 brake pads which are 1 pad per piston, or 4 per caliper.
The MT5 comes stock with 2 pads per caliper.
Levers are fairly close however the MT7 is a bit more sculpted.
The MT5 and MT7 do not have interchangeable levers.
MT5 levers are available in the stock "2 finger", really a long single finger lever or the upgraded HC 1 finger lever.
MT7 have three options. The longer "2 finger", the stock 1 finger or the ultra adjustable Magura HC3 lever.
