make sure you turn off auto alt bite if you havent already. Dont alt bite to open bodies. Just normal bite. Smaller deinos can be lunged. If you can lunge them you can drown them. Easier then trying to chase them up on land where they will most likely get away. Pretty good deino video
My man, please please PLEASE go to your gameplay options and turn on "manual alt-attacks". This will mean you have to hold alt to do the higher damage, directional attacks, but you can also just do normal bites without draining stamina to open up bodies or preserve stamina when needed.
Im still kinda new. Does alt change both attacks or just right click?
@@TheFlamingWeasel Depends on the dino. Tenonto, for example, has 4 unique attacks:
lmb = bite; alt + lmb = directional claw swipe
rmb = kick; alt + rmb = tail slam
I have it set to manual alt but like whenever I use it to fight or hunt it seems like it’s just a regular bite no difference in the animation or Stan used am I doing it wrong?

good job. i'm not a fan of relentless cannibalism, only if it's absolutely necessary, but gateway makes it tough not to. it also means i am less likely to try deino on this map because i know my ass will get ate in like two minutes xD
Ty! Unlike evrima you rarely see dinos coming to drink and the shallow drinking spots are more in favour for land dinos now then ever before so cannibalism is more pro dominant but makes reaching full growth more satisfying due to the difficulty, give it a go! :)
Yeah I don’t like cannibals but now that I’ve tried Deino I completely get it!! Even when you are full… it’s much harder to catch other Dino’s drinking now.
And tbh when I’m max growth that lake/river is mine!
It’s hard to trust anyone and It becomes a territory thing. (Also trauma from spiro has built hate of Deinos lol) I may not be hungry now but I might eventually!
If you want to take me out better bring some buddies… it’s more natural gameplay and as a non-deino player it’s nice not getting gulped every time you go for a drink like in spiro tbh. The deino numbers are much less in gateway which I think is good!
Water Access is a death sentence. I spawned at the Northeast Plains, swam down the river, and scaled the rocks above the waterfall there to get to land... I broke my leg, but was still able to hobble to a road and followed my nose to the main river connected to Water Access, that was somewhat safer. I got lucky and followed the left waterway past the tall bridge, and managed to get all the way to the Swamp. It's boring there as croc, but pretty safe to AFK grow by eating schooling fish, just don't mess with the local stego population. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a Teno to munch.
This is the first isle video I've seen since 2b2v that actualy was entertaining. The whole viewing experience was extremely enjoyable and shows what the game is, ir is aiming to be. At heart.

I made the opposite choice and headed down the river all the way down the map into the swamp area. The entire way I found 2 fish and no other players. I started to starve before logging out frustrated.

i would say, a word of advice at 16:38, dont alt bite to open up corpses.....your needlessly wasting stamina when non alt-attack bites dont take stamina and open up corpses so you can get organs, also, enable "manual alt-attacks" in settings as ShadeScarecrow also mentioned in a comment. Its not a design issue or a stam issue lol, its simply you not knowing to not use alt attacks to open up bodies which is just a small thing to learn, you will get better at the game as you learn stuff like this. Tho i understand it can feel frustrating, especially when you dont know better.
Also when your a full grown Dino a perfect diet is not worth it because it gives you no buffs since you already full grown , best to get a diet combo like double S and Hex , or double S and lines

Yes stamina need a fix , spend 5 min to full regan as pteranodon is unnaceptable
Nice video! You don't want to get 3 different diets when your adult, it only gives you 50% growth. Get like [...] for stamina bonus or [S] for health regen and resistance. [//] gives scent and NV bonus but you dont need that.

I was the guy at 6:23 and I remember barely surviving that with a bite away from being dead. Now I'm still fully grown in that server and I'm doing to others what you tried to do to me :)
I was just a baby deino observing a pack of rapters then i suddenly got jumped by a fully grown deino from behind, scared the crap out of me.

You can grab chunks of meat off the body instead of biting in... it's not as fast but you don't waste stamina doing it. Also you don't need 50% once you're so big. You can just do a mix of diet symbols for their buffs
or just turn on manual alt attack so you dont use all your stam trying to alt bite a body
Yea, like ChrimiKat said. If your attacks are using stamina, you have automatic alt attacks on. Go to gameplay options and turn on manual Alt-attacks instead. This means you have to hold alt to perform the higher damage, camera based directional attacks, but it also means you can just do normal bites that dont cost any stamina when just pressing left mousebutton (or whatever your attack button is).
Why they made automatic alt-attacks the default is beyond me, utterly stupid design decision.
Love the video, one thing though, it kinda sounds like when you're commentating you're reading from a script with too many full stops in it haha, like its all in parts. I get its for effect but maybe over used slightly? don't know if its just me noticing that.

So I recently got this because I enjoyed watching all these videos but my experience has been a lot of empty time between with nothing interesting. Could be the server I was on but I hope it's not always like that.
You have 2 choices, sit afk in a bush and grow or take the risk and explore in the process but it happens from time to time where nothing is going on
