I just purchased this camera from Amazon in part because of reviews like this one. Thank you. This will be my first cooled camera. Amazon had a 30% off sale on this camera so I was able to pick it up for almost 50% of the price of the ZWO equivalent. I haven't received it yet, but I'm looking forward to some great images in the near future.
Nice review, i am getting this camera, currently its about 400 bucks less than the 294 and has the same specs. Only differnce are the lack of usb hubs which i dont need
Nice review! I've been looking at different cameras, searching for my first dedicated cooled camera. I was settling on the ASI294mc Pro, but I might look into the SV405CC. The only thing is your video stated the price difference between these two cameras was 80%. However, looking online at retailers, they're only $200 difference. I realize you mentioned a discount on it, but I wouldn't think that would account for 80% the price of the ASI294mc Pro.
The ASCOM driver does work with NINA, but the only quirk I noticed was that the cooling function seemed a bit slower than with the camera driver. I should have noted that in the review.

With the price difference, instead of saying 80% the cost of, I should have said the 405cc ($800) is 20% less expensive than the 294mc pro ($1000).
Thank you very much for your review.!
Great camera. Thanks for your vidéo.
Bests regards
What cord did you buy instead of original?
I got an Onite DC male-to-male DC power adapter cable from Amazon to plug it directly into my portable battery.
ASCOM ?
