    The propolis candy is delicious! Thank you Pam!
    I use the tincture for sore throats - just mix with a bit of hot water and drink trying to coat the throat. It stings a bit initially but I find that later it is soothing and helps to heal quicker.
    It is amazing that you have been able to get honey and all that great propolis on your first trial with bee keeping! 🎉😀

    Put drops of propolis tincture on small cuts. It sets like a skin over the cut while it cures.

    Bees not only seal gaps and cracks in their hives using propolis but also they 'glue' the frames themselves to their hive to make it difficult for the beekeeper to remove them. Beekeepers also remove excess propolis from the tops of frames (top bars) so that less bees are hurt or crashed when closing the hive with the crown board.

    • @DeepWoodsDietitian
      @DeepWoodsDietitian  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yep, that is how we collect our propolis, while tidying the frames.

    A reason why an entire chapter in the Qur'an has been devoted to the bee is that Allah has enabled the honey bee to produce a substance within which there is a cure for all mankind. Honey. In Surah Al Nahl, Allah is asks people to “give thought” to the attributes of the bees & embody these traits in their lives.

    Ive had personal experience with propolis. Me and my boyfriend had sores on our bodies that wouldnt heal. It started with a small cut i got from dropping a piece of chopped wood on my foot and for some reason my wounds wouldnt heal. Any wound i got after that wouldnt heal and even got bigger. My boyfriend suffered the same and we tried everything nothing would work. My boyfriends friend came by the one day with propolis his gran made and we hadnt even used half when our wounds healed up. Great stuff😮

    @Deep Woods Dietitian - Thank you for this video, and recipe. Nicely done!! I am a bee keeper and just started collecting propolis (I'm so excited to use it!). In your video you use 10 drops of your tincture. How did you decide how many drops to use? Would more tincture be indicated for other uses? Was it a flavor issue for the lozenges?
    Also, in allowing the boiled product to cool, and thicken a bit, prior to adding the tincture, do you know if propolis - and consequently the tincture - is denatured by increased temps as honey is? I understand the nutrients in honey are denatured at temps around 110 -115 degrees F. Do you know if it is advised to have the boiled product cool that low before adding the tincture?
    Thanks so much for any thoughts on this.

    Can we consume the propolis without making a tincture

    • @DeepWoodsDietitian

      I'm not sure how palatable it would be but I have read about it being powdered or chewed.

    • @cjcj8730
      @cjcj8730 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Blueyopo - Regarding consuming propolis without making a tincture (or possibly a powder), as I understand it the waxes and resins within the propolis are difficult for human digestive system to digest and absorb. That is why one is encouraged to use the propolis in a processed form instead of consuming it raw.
      Hope this is helpful.
