Update: Vivi graduated high school in 2023 as a decorated competition dancer, winning with various groups, as well as tap solos. She’s now on the dance team in her college.
That conversation Abby had with Christi was the result of the week prior. The week prior, Chloe was "benched" because she had a nationals for a competition where she was a title holder. They could not film there. It's why she was the only girl not in the pageant stuff. While competing there, Chloe was backstage, and Abby went up to her and said, "Be like Maddie. You have to win because Maddie isn't here." From that point on, Christi refused for Chloe to be alone with Abby w/o production staff or other ALDC staff or moms present. It's why she said by the pool, "She's not allowed to be alone with my daughter anymore." Christi revealed all this on Back to the Barre.
Christi is one of the best moms! She always has her daughter’s back! That argument with Abby was VERY much Abby gas lighting her and not taking responsibility for making Chloe feel inferior and bad about herself! I remember watching the episode for the first time years ago and being absolutely flabbergasted at Abby implying that Christi doesn’t love Chloe unconditionally. That’s a wild accusation. And it’s not true.
There is a deleted dance moms episode where they did a group dance as showgirls with very nude tops to make them appear topless. Safe to say there’s a reason the episode was deleted.
There’s also a show called abbys ultimate dance competition that introduces dancers that later appear on the show. It is also very dramatic and entertaining so I recommend it
I highly recommend watching the off-show version of Brooke's Metamorphosis solo, specifically the DEA Nationals version of it. The show didn't do it justice. Hope you get better soon!
When Christi says that Abby said that Chloe should be like Maddie happend when Chloe was giving up her title and doing a solo and Abby as her teacher was supposed to like say like good luck hope you do great instead she said be like Maddie and Christi said Chloe was like what which was a very bad look for Abby

Did we see Nia’s solo? Brook is so impressive to be able to dance with her shoulder dislocated. She shouldn’t have been forced to though. It would likely make that shoulder a bigger problem for her in the future.

So apparently the production team would steal or hide costumes away minutes before they had to go on or even bring in a wonky costumes or ones that didn't fit to start drama, and in one podcast, some members from the production team said that they would target certain things with each mom to get them to start drama like giving Christi alcohol or bottles of it, going for Holly's intelligence, and coming for Kelly's kids. In fact, there was an episode where Kelly blew up and stormed downstairs to where it seemed to be where the production team would stay during the dance rehearsals and she shouted at them that they're always targeting her kids. Idk if it made it on air, but there's alternative footage of that scene available here on TH-cam.
OMG that sounds HORRIFIC! Idk why they don't just let drama happen organically because dancing can be bitchy and competitive without people's costumes going missing!
Doesn't surprise me. These are the same people who created the idea of the pyramids and made Abby do it to those kids every week. SPOILER: They also made Jill leave to Candy Apples because they wanted Christi and Kelly to be teaming up against Melissa but Jill was standing up for Melissa and got in the way of that storyline. Ridiculous. They used to write the lines for the girls in their confessionals too, but that seemingly stopped as they got older.

Kendall does cheerleading. And McKenzie obviously dances for her music videos but that's about it for her. Brynn and Sophia have their own studios where they teach children.

I will never understand why Abby was so hell bent on giving Maddie special treatment, especially the further the show goes on. Who wouldn’t want to be able to say “yeah, I trained all six of these girls” instead of being like “I trained Maddie, none of the rest of them matter”. I feel like the more students she has in the industry, the better for her, no?

You know it’s not really fair to be blaming the dancers for their shit 💩 choreography. And repetitive movements. Multiple girls have asked Abby for something different to do different choreography, different concept different style different training and she’s refused and told them that they don’t fit that mold and that’s not their forte so if they’re stunted as dancers 👯♀️ it’s because Abby is a horrible teacher. Who is purposely keeping them in a box 📦 that she deems that they fit in.
