I left the AUT community well over 7 months ago, and have not viewed any content regarding it since. I'm quite glad they're taking this path and rewriting the combat system, as it's the reason why I left in the first place. (almost) infinite combos, BS amounts of stun, and so much more. In a way, those combos were actually fun to land on people, but the one on the receiving end says otherwise. Anyway, my point is that I'm happy they're rewriting the combat system, but the old one will (probably) be missed by majority of the community.
I think a combat rewrite would be good if we got not only a meter, but also things like combo breakers, parries, shields, etc. This could make the game actually fun and you might think, "How are you going to fit that many keybinds for so many moves and mechanics?" But look at fighting games. They have not only single keybinds but combination and double keybinds to perform different moves. If AUT did that, I'm sure it'll get a revival. (Also needs new content like gamemodes, but thats besides the point.)
What about number keys? There's 10 of em and most keyboards come with a number pad just use the number keys to bind block and parry and maybe add something like pressing block and parry at the same time triggers a combo break.
please no, so damn sick of fighting games where every ability has 13 moves, 2 variations for each one of them every move with different properties and uses and 9 different keybinds for other things

Actually, Locke isn't a new stand, it's been in the game since the old AUT, it's name isn't Locke back then, instead it's TWR (The World Requiem) but it never got a proper moveset, so they reworked it and put it in the combat rework. Edit: ok so saying "actually" truns people into nerds now
Although the devs’ dedication is respectable,I don’t see the game lasting very long,especially if the updates take months to release just for them to be 2 new stands,a new map and a crap ton of skins,it would get boring pretty quickly.
I don't appreciate the way ppl treated aut as an competition. Many good games got less players then it should be and many poor games got more players should have. All I care is games keeps updated and get better and better, making players feels enjoyable to play.
not sure how i feel about the aut rework. for starters from what i have played the meter addition works a bit oddly. The only skills that take a noticable amount of meter are things like ts, beatdowns, or cutscenes and they either take half or your entire bar. Not to mention that this bar isn't really hard to build up since one combo can already give you an ability to use a custcene or a timestop which get you slightly more damage. Also the whole m1 stun rework and the aut combat rework as a whole feels choppy. AUT combat went from an m1 stun simulator, a combat system where m1s had an awkwardly long cooldown, to now m1's not even being able to start a combo. From what I have tested m1s cannot guarante you a combo extender which isnt a bad thing by any means, but what i am upset about is that using moves from neutral are now your main source of stun and combo extending. This change can favor people who strafe in fights making them last ages because of cooldowns and also influences the use of spammy stands. Of course this can only be a demo and I have maybe only 5 - 6 hours of experience with the combat so I have a rather surface level understanding but this pvp change doesn't feel fluent. Take this with a grain of salt because I could be ridiculously wrong.
yeah man, totally agree. you mentioned all the problem with AUT. it is still a mess and the balance is just awkward to say. i think they have been working on nothing but it is still a demo, we will see

Interesting, to me after 12 hours of experience and non stop pvping the combat rewrite is fantastic, not perfect tho there's still some flaws. The idea of an meter bar for me is quite genius. First of all, yes only few moves require meter and the meter bar was fast to recharge which I don't see a problem here. The bar limited the player from highly rely on strong moves especially timestop. For example during 1v1, opponents could start up with ts and deals heavy dmg and nothing u can do (every tw user i faced). Next, u said that the match could end up long due to m1 can't start up a combo anymore and only moves can, but that wasn't the case. You see, moves now deals a freaking ton of damage now and with the meter bar, players were encourage to actually fight instead of stalling. Also when u deal damage with moves u will heal a little which is great. For the new m1 system, i thought it was great. Finally no shitty m1 to win. It's true that u can't do crazy combo now but basic combo still exist.

always been a king crimson fan, kc vibe and his skills just fit so perfectly to each other, his theme bro, it's rare for me to like something in an anime this much, this game captures what i like the most about kc good job
In my opinion, SP's rework is amazing. The moves are more realistic and close to what SP kind of does. Also, The Beatdown was needed especially after aut made the tandem thingy, which was really dissapointing. Also, Hamon W.
The combat update isn't big but they are trying to figure out how to keep m1 stun and have a good combat system which is big the update isn't big but the goal is
The combat rework would probably get a lot of people to come back for a bit, some might stay, but after the initial hype it might have less players than before because it lost what made it a JoJo game by becoming a 3d fighting game with the meter on top of all the focus on stuns and combos in pvp
So i think MIH will be just with speed buff and those skills: “Quick chop” - in some range you do chop to everyone. “Heaven punishment” - you just jump and run fast from one to another player and walls to deal damage to every player in the square. “Too slow” - analog of epitaph of king crimson. “Speed slice” - you do slide on some distance in look direction and block break. “Knifes through” - through a knifes.

there is still more reworks we can test out in later puplics testing but as now every stand and spec might get a rework because since there are conversions, those conversions can be turned into a rework. we have so many long awaited reworks and reworks for stands that feel dry and just have bad move design (like they said for cd and sptw, thats why they are reworking them) we also have some of the OC stands they made like P//S, Nuclear star, Crystallized, Nocturnus and sol. and about kq, its still getting its btd but its gonna be a separate stand. so yeah possible aut's 2nd rework (the 1st being new universe but this one is still new universe but feels like a new). they leaked mih btw
I think it would be better if they added all in one update since then if they update in smaller blasts then the peaple will grind the new stuff in low time and then be bored so for me it's better if they give us a big update with everything
what I loved about this rewrite was that they used an actual Jojo game to form their movesets, only thing left for AUT to do is to add some other gamemodes so we dont have only the main game to play which is very clusterfucked

I gonna say that combat rewrite gonna revive it Cause its literally will be YBA, but with good skin, good combat, and without dead developers (active bug fixes, events, more stands and etc)
YBA has more content than aut, this is the truth, theres more things to do, and the quests arent clicking simulators, some quests are actually challenging, and the entire storyline too, i do like aut more but yba clearly has more things to do compared to aut, and also different playerbases
Honestly, I feel like they also messed up how rare some of the stands are now, like there are some stands in my inventory that took literal DAYS for me to get (spr and hornet took me longer then any other legendary), only for them to become epics and rares
You know, they still could have given us a Halloween update without any reworks being added, it would have also given them the opportunity to make the game more playable rn since the bugs are terrible right now

Ok Ain't gonna lie, I thought aut is already unrecoverable at this point for making their game so dry because they chose to do a big update every 5 months instead of a new update atleast every 2-3 weeks or less to keep players satisfied but these new stand reworks, new combat system, new hamon spec, all look so promising and just might bring their player count back up by alot again (like when aut got alot of players after a game rework aka new universe) for maybe just a month or two

i fr think C moon should have an ability like ts erase/btd, but instead it's gravity shift, everything goes sideways, it's not completely straight up that u fall, but only C moon gets to walk normally/ + fall dmg if you fall

It's a stand that's INSANELY hard to master, but that pays off in the end (atleast for the old aut combat)

The combat update isn't big but they are trying to figure out how to keep m1 stun and have a good combat system which is big the update isn't big but the goal is
The combat rework would probably get a lot of people to come back for a bit, some might stay, but after the initial hype it might have less players than before because it lost what made it a JoJo game by becoming a 3d fighting game with the meter on top of all the focus on stuns and combos in pvp
So i think MIH will be just with speed buff and those skills:
“Quick chop” - in some range you do chop to everyone.
“Heaven punishment” - you just jump and run fast from one to another player and walls to deal damage to every player in the square.
“Too slow” - analog of epitaph of king crimson.
“Speed slice” - you do slide on some distance in look direction and block break.
“Knifes through” - through a knifes.

By The way locke isn't new, it already existed since Old AUT Universe. It just got a model rework and divided in two separate things.
there is still more reworks we can test out in later puplics testing but as now every stand and spec might get a rework because since there are conversions, those conversions can be turned into a rework. we have so many long awaited reworks and reworks for stands that feel dry and just have bad move design (like they said for cd and sptw, thats why they are reworking them) we also have some of the OC stands they made like P//S, Nuclear star, Crystallized, Nocturnus and sol. and about kq, its still getting its btd but its gonna be a separate stand. so yeah possible aut's 2nd rework (the 1st being new universe but this one is still new universe but feels like a new).

They need to bring back the item spawning and remove the quests, those made the game fun because you get excited when the corb theme plays
Honestly, I feel like they also messed up how rare some of the stands are now, like there are some stands in my inventory that took literal DAYS for me to get (spr and hornet took me longer then any other legendary), only for them to become epics and rares
They're also reworking Yasuo, and GER. so I cant wait to check those out

Ain't gonna lie, I thought aut is already unrecoverable at this point for making their game so dry because they chose to do a big update every 5 months instead of a new update atleast every 2-3 weeks or less to keep players satisfied but these new stand reworks, new combat system, new hamon spec, all look so promising and just might bring their player count back up by alot again (like when aut got alot of players after a game rework aka new universe) for maybe just a month or two

The one thing I really want them to add is better mobile support because most jojo games forget about mobile players and its kinda disappointing because half the roblox players are mobile so I think it would attract more players if aut added better mobile support .
