@@WithGrantI’m living and working in Sweden and I’m interested in signing up for this program. I’m a certified sterile processing technician. How possible is it to do externship? I have been discouraged by from taking up the program bse it requires a lot of lab work which I can miss out. Any advise please! Thank you
Hello I am an instrument tech at hospital in nyc …could I do my clinical hours at my hospital?
Do you guys have externship in Minnesota?
Hello Grant. This interests me. Just a couple of questions. Is this cert accepted in NY? Is it digital or wall cert? How much is the NCST exam? What are the other expenses needs to consider after this this program? Hope you notice my inquiry. Ty
Hey Arvin! Yes, the certs are nationwide 😀 The beauty of the program is that all materials are included so there are no other expenses...and yes, you get a physical cert from the university to hang on your wall!
Makes the potential patient real comfortable. Maybe all surgical paying customers should have meetings beforehand and choose who they trust.
Did you hear the part about them? Still requiring a externship that should ease your concerns. It's not like you're just going to operate on people. You have to do an externship. You have to watch and do all of that and get hands-on experience with the trainer. It's not more like we're just jumping into nothing
You still have to pass the same certification exam as everybody else, and you have to prove to your employer you are competent or they don’t keep you. It’s really not that deep.
What about San Diego, CA? Would the externship be in a hospital setting?
Hey, Absolutely! We coordinate externships throughout the US and San Diego is no issue at all. The Externship is scheduled to make sure it works for your schedule :)
@withgrant can the externship be done on weekends or evenings for people who work?
Hey there! Absolutely! Most of the students are working or have kids, so the Externship is scheduled to make sure it works for your schedule :)
Will we be able to sit for cst exam by the nbstsa?
Will this equate to a CE Cert or a diploma/ degree?
Hi, does it work outside US?
It sounds really good what computer brand is provided and do I need to wait 3 years of experience to take the test
What laptop is giving? I don't have one
Hi I live in Boston Ma, do you guys offer externship there that’s really huge for me and is is accredited
Hi! This is NCCT approved? And NCCT doesn’t give you full certification unless you scrub in 125 hours? Is that correct? So you can sit in the exam but license isn’t released until after the 125 hours?
How long is the externship, and is it paid?
Do they provide externship in Canada ??
What universities and Hospitals does Preppy partner within the Atlanta, GA area?
Hey there! We coordinate Externships across the US regardless of where you live! So Atlanta is no problem at all 😀
Hello. From my research this only certifies you as CST. Many hospitals won’t hire you that cert. they want the more universal cert. Can you please advise? Do you plan on enhancing the program so that graduates are ready for both exam certifications? Thank you
Hey,
So there’s a common myth that you need the specific certification from an NBSTSA/CAAHEP program.
Not true! Let me explain:
It’s true that getting a certification is key. You want to be a certified Surgical Tech. With Preppy, that’s why we prepare you for TWO different national certifications as a Surgical Tech:
Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification from NCCT, and
National Certified Surgical Technologist (CST or NCST) from AAH.
Again, both of these are national certifications! AND you can get them within just a few months with Preppy! 😊
To get a NBSTSA/CAAHEP certification, on the other hand, you would have to go through a long 2-YEAR program, physically driving to a campus for classes, and normally with big price tags. There's literally no other option.
And apart from the ludicrous cost and time associated with completing these programs (which make them completely unattractive for busy adults) there aren’t many CAAHEP accredited programs for people locally.
What does this all mean?
There simply aren't enough certified Surgical Techs out there!
Hospitals have to manage, and there are many positions that go unfilled.
What has been happening is that they're hiring Surgical Tech positions under different job titles like - Operating Room Assistant (ORA), OR Tech, Certified Surgical Technologist, Scrub Tech (ST), Medical Surgical Technician etc. etc.
They’re essentially the same position, just different names.
SO, the key is to get one of those national Surgical Tech certifications above…and then when you begin applying and looking for postings, make sure you expand your search and apply for those other positions as well with the different names! 😊
Is this accredited? Also, do you assist with the Externship process?
I’m interested in the surgical tech program. I live in Asheville, NC do you contact local hospitals for the training?
Hey Brandon! Exactly! We coordinate Externships across the country. Once you finish your program we coordinate that for you to get real life work experience and training 😀
I’m a certified sterile technician from Sweden and interested in surgical tech, can I enroll?
How long does the externship last or how many hours must we commit?
Hey Dillon! It's completely optional, but a big bonus to get you experience for your resume and hands-on training. If you just wanted the minimum, it could be about 40 hours. However, it could also be much higher than that as well...the time is coordinated between you and the hospital/healthcare organization to make sure it fits your schedule :)
Hello Grant , I interested in this program , is this cert accepted in MA Boston ? Is this program accredited?
Yes.
Preppy's program is essentially though a nationally-recognised, non-profit accredited university.
With Preppy, you'll be ready for the TS-C certification through NCCT, and this is a nationally-recognized certification.
hello what about upstate ny albany ny ? and the externship?
Hi there
I’m on LI New York and I had the same question, I completed the program and they dis reach out to me for an externship but here is the downside of all this, most employers want and required you to have a certification from NBSTSA
What about California? For externship
Definitely! We coordinate Externships across the US...CA is no problem :)
I know it's self-paced but what if I have questions about a topic, do you offer assistance
Is there a graduation ceremony after
hello me and my friend planning to enroll with this surgical tech program but we have a big question if we finish the course what hospital we can do our externship we all leave in corpus christi texas and ca and is this program is accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP?Thank you
Hey there! We coordinate Externships across the US...no issues in TX or Corpus Christi. Once you finish your program our team will work with you and coordinate that at an OR, hospital, etc. :)
hey did yall enroll yet.? Im maybe thinking about enrolling
Is this accredited and work in colorado
This is through an accredited university, and yes, we have students throughout the US 😀
What about if it takes me little longer than 6 months to complete the program? Can I get an extension? Do I have to pay extra? Thank you for your response in advance.
Hey,
You get access to the program for a whole year. So you have a whole year to complete the program. Most students complete the program in 3-6 months.
Hello im interested in this Program. Does you guys offer externships in New Orleans Louisiana?
@@WithGrant which hospitals in New Orleans do y’all offer externships at
Are there externships in or near Philadelphia? Also, if I work on it 8 hours a day, can I complete the course in less than 4 months?
Hey Mia! Absolutely...we coordinate externships throughout the US and Philadelphia is no issue at all :) Yes! the program is specifically designed for busy adults, and most students are in the same work situation. You definitely could, or even faster ;)
how many hours will be needed for an externship? how about surgical cases? is there a need to comply a certain number of surgical cases to be certified? Thank you
Clinical requirements are an important factor and that's why the externship is such a big bonus. The externship would be for a minimum of 40 hours, but can be much longer.
For surgical cases, it depends on the certification you choose.
@@WithGrant which certification does not need externship? Thank you
which certification does not require number of surgical cases? Thank you
Question. How long will this go on for. I am an undocumented immigrant. Grew up here my whole life. I am now in process of a Uvisa and hoping to get my work permit within the next few years. Should I wait until I have a legal right to work here and get a social security number or should I take this now to take advantage of the price and the whole program, which I REALLY REALLY WANT?
Hey there! The good news is you don't need to wait...you can begin your program now, and be ready for when you get your work permit :)
I just completed the program. How do I get in contact with your support so that I can know how my externship will be selected. I already send an email to support
Hey,
The support team will get back to you,
Regardless, Can you please share your e-mail so I can ask the support team to help you with that.
Hi, can you tell me if you have been able to do an externship or job hunting.
Can we get an update on how it was and your experience? Please!!
Can I take the test with the NBSTSA after completing this program?
Nope. You would want to get your certification with NBSTSA and this program doesn't offer it
In order to get that useless cert you need to go to 2 years of school and spend many thousands of dollars. Hospitals are very short on techs and many will gladly accept the cert you can get through this program at 1/10th to 1/20th the cost.
Is your school accredited and is the certificate accepted in Connecticut?
Which exact university will one be awarded after completing the program ( I mean the name of the university)
Does this work in florida
@@WithGrant do you guys have externship in Tampa fl I registered for the course just want to confirm
Absolutely! We coordinate Externships throughout the US. Tampa is no issue at all :)
Does this work in Michigan
Hey! Did you enroll yet? I’m from Birmingham,Michigan and I’m thinking about enrolling.
Does this work in California?
@@WithGrant does this program include clinical to be certified surg tech? And if not where exactly would I get that?
It does! After you finish the course we place you in an Externship with a local healthcare organization to get hands on experience! We coordinate all of that for you
@@WithGrant ok that’s great news, I’m not sure if you would know this information but I’m from North Ca, by any chance do you know which hospital I would be in? Or do you have a link of all this information?
Will it be accepted in florida?
Hey Maria! We're in partnership with an accredited university and is recognized nationwide :) We have many students in FL!
How do I sign up?
Hey,
You can go to this link -> PreppySurgicalTech.com/
Let us know if you've any questions
Is this program accredited?
Yes! The program is actually through the non-profit university...so you'll get your Certificate of Completion through that accredited institution for Surgical Tech. Preppy is on a mission to make certifications more affordable and accessible for everyone, so it's co-branded.
Is this real?
We love hearing that! Yes, very real :) It took a few years to put it all together, but now we're making certification training affordable and accessible for everyone :)
