4: "Well, apologies. We do seem to be having some technical problems with Graham Norton at the moment." Me: "My man Graham is _completely out of control."_
this clip covers the screen a little with a watermark, but in the bottom right corner of that BT Tower screen it shows "17:31". this suggests its a scheduling error, most likely due to the clocks moving for daylight savings - the BT Tower scheduling uses UTC which is unaffected by daylight savings. this has happened before with saturday morning live on BBC as well. when this specific scenario happens it means someone booked the slot for "until 17:30" (using this clip as an example) as in BST (GMT+1), and forgot that the booking would actually need to be until 18:30 according to UTC. if the BT Tower gets dead air, it transmits dead air. it's also why it takes a little longer than simply restoring a live link - they quite literally have to get in touch with the BT Tower team to ask for the extra hour :p
@@ArtyIF yes, but that alone wouldn't have caused this, it's a schedule mismatch between the timeslot booked for the BT tower, vs the intended timeslot
apologies for the break we're doing our best to get big brother back sorry for the break we just need to put some cash in the electrometer and we'll get back to the show shortly again, apologies for the break, we'll get back as soon as we can.
'Putting some cash in the electricity meter' - nicely pitched, a reference Channel 4 viewers by choice (they do apparently exist outside zoos) would get.

I'd love to see the other side of this when there is a technical fault at a TV station... I bet its total pandemonium
You would love this then th-cam.com/video/2ze2QK_2fSo/w-d-xo.html
Make sure to watch the half way point forwords
5:43 Rest In Peace Paul O’Grady. I wasn’t really a fan of his show, but it was no age for him to go to heaven. ⚰️💐
why are these so funny I didn't expect this, especially with the simpsons one
5:05 was near perfect timing
2:36 What a line to come back to
"Well, so much for a no brainer" MY SIDES
5:50 My favourite one. Does the BT Tower splash screen appear when the transmitters don't receive an input signal from the broadcaster?

@@toranine09 isn't this a +1 channel i.e. timeshifted by 1 hour?

ahh the good old big brother days, thank god thats coming back this year, I hope they will broadcast live 24/7 like they did before
“oh my god I want to shoot myself in the head”, proceeds to end of program.
2:05 - Proof that Big Brother was live all night xD. Watching them sleep in bed on national tv was strangely helpful when I couldn't sleep at night
bruh the simpsons were about to get hit by a car and then Programs will continue shortly💀
3:20 remember that one often
if im honest, id love to see more of Channel 4's messups.
Simpsons - *Bout to be hit by a car*
Channel 4 - *not on my watch!*
I like the subtitles apologising for the loss of sound for viewers that are hard of hearing or deaf lol.
it's more likely that it's there for people who have the initiative to turn on captioning in case they think their TV is broken
apologies for the break we're doing our best to get big brother back
sorry for the break we just need to put some cash in the electrometer and we'll get back to the show shortly
again, apologies for the break, we'll get back as soon as we can.
i love how half of these were during big brother
What’s the explanation about that 2008 E4 ident? Regularly that wouldn’t happen during a BB broadcast
I reckon the incident at 3:10 happened because of spitgate
like you never s- SWORE
Take a look at what Davina, we can’t see anything now?
Having problems with Graham Norton? Haven't we all?
I thought these started in 1989 for 4, no?
The technical difficulties on channel 4 started in 1983 after an ad break one day
simpsons get hit by car so hard it breaks the channel
'Putting some cash in the electricity meter' - nicely pitched, a reference Channel 4 viewers by choice (they do apparently exist outside zoos) would get.
