Department of Education's (DepEd) mission is “to provide quality basic education that is equitably accessible to all and lay the foundation for lifelong learning and service for the common good.”
DepEd's vision is “by 2030, DepEd is globally recognized for the Filipino Learners who possess the 21st century skills and are holistic individuals with a strong sense of national identity and values.”
To achieve these goals, DepEd is committed to providing high-quality education to all Filipinos, regardless of income or background. They aim to make education accessible to everyone and equip students with the skills they will need in the future.
DepEd's mission and vision reflect their commitment to improving the Philippines' education system and providing better opportunities for Filipinos.
The DepEd Core Values Mandate in the Philippines is a set of principles upheld by the Department of Education in promoting quality education in the country.
These core values include Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa. Maka-Diyos refers to promoting God-centeredness and spirituality in education,
while Maka-Tao emphasizes the dignity and worth of every person.
Makakalikasan prioritizes environmental protection and preservation, and Makabansa highlights the importance of love for country and nation-building.
Through these core values, the DepEd hopes to instill a strong sense of moral and social responsibility in students and educators alike, ultimately contributing to the holistic development of the Filipino youth.
