We took another short trip to Superior Arizona to check out some sites that we had missed the first few times out. There is so much beauty ad history in the area! We explored old ruins, old mines, and hunted for Apache Tears! What a day!
Remember, always be prepared and safe when exploring the desert. Bring food, water, first aid, and recovery gear! Here's what we bring on our adventures:
Get your recovery gear here (and use code BCOUTDOORS to save $$$):

We searched the surrounding area and found many old stone structures, pottery sherds, old glass, stone tools, and more! Remember...when you find an artifact, please leave it where it sits so the next person can enjoy it.

Nice exploration! That last site looked amazing, minus the bee's!
Haha! Yes, the bees were a surprise. They were pretty high up and not interested in us at all. Had they been closer, we would have avoided the area completely and missed out on some cool stuff!
Just camped up here can't wait to go back!
I’ve been to the apache tear mine before, I gotta tell ya it was awesome. We found some big tears and tumbled them once we got home. Here’s a tip, if you see a square lookin rock in the walls of the mine, go for that. Anyways this video is cool 😁😁
We found a patch of apache tears all.over the ground it was a blast infill my pockets with these stones
Thoes walls you were at, there used to be running water down there and those walls were hunting blinds for the native amercans
That's a ventilation shaft for a mine near by
I don't see the area where they mined the ore. Where are the mines? Cave or Open Pit !
that creek is incredibly contaminated and I've had to try to warn kids twice to get out of it. once they were very small and sadly the parents didn't speak english
What was the turn off called that you took off of 60 Hwy East?
It was the Pinal Airport road
What were stamp mills used for? What was mined?
A stamp mill is used for crushing material to remove ore. Basically giant pistons smashing rock. Must have been LOUD! This particular one was used for copper ore. They also pulled gold and silver out of the area.
Reducing ore from the Silver King Mine that was north west of Superior.
This is Pinal City -
Do you have GPS for the ruins???
