Tips to pass the ACFT and prep for BCT: 1. If you can’t deadlift, don’t join. It takes a lot of time to build strength to deadlift. 200lbs at most to pass the Heavy Standard (Combat MOS) 2. If you can’t run, run often and run a lot for at least 2 months before you enlist/ship. (If you’re in the guard or reserves you’ll have some time from enlistment and shipping.) 3. Leg tucks suck. Build your core and upper body strength a lot, this is what will disqualify over half of everybody, seriously. You just need 1 for Army standard/light MOS’s. You need 5 for heavy/combat. V-Ups, Leg tuck and twists, pull-ups, pushups, curls, planking. Some exercises that really fuckin helps out with that. 4. Hand-Release Pushups suck worse than normal pushups, just practice them at home before you leave. You’ll be able to pass this easily after basic training. 5. Medicine ball throw isn’t hard to pass, just hard to max. It’s all about technique and less about arm strength, use your legs to propel the ball, they’re stronger than your arms and don’t grip the ball too hard and release it. Let it naturally fly out of your hands like a catapult. 8m for heavy/combat and 4.5?m for army/light standard.
Actually for the dead lift I would say trust the process and do your exercises. I went to basic in 2021 and I could barely lift 120 pounds. For the next 3 to 4 weeks I did everything to the limit and did more push ups and pull ups in the bay. When it came time to dead lift, I thought I'd stuggle again since I hadn't even practiced dead lifting and the 140 was surprisingly lighter than the 120 had felt weeks prior. I was lifting 160 by the end. You just get what you put into it and your drills know what they're doing giving you all those work outs
@@celeste2025 I'm a 09R potential (meaning I contract into ROTC this August so I have to go to BCT) and I was sick a few months ago, lost a lot of weight, tried to get into the deadlift, I was doing 130ish and strained my back by working too hard to early, still not fully healed(I'm gonna be cocky here, my form was damn good). I just completed my first ACFT last drill weekend and it was more fun than the APFT. I thought it was all about form and determination to pass within the 60%. My challenge was the Leg Tuck (I had to do the two minutes Plank, which I pass). I realized with the ACFT, you need to work on strength training specially for the arms. The ACFT is going to go down in Army annals as being one of the biggest misguided failures the service has undertaken in the last 20 years. It was well intentioned, no doubt, but way too complex in it's design, too reliant on training props/equipment, and no enough thought went into downrange 2nd & 3rd order problems with its implementation at small Geographically Separated Units (esp. those OCONUS) and / or at many of the AR/NG units, given that those personnel are not full time, and many live in economically diverse areas where training facilities & proper equipment may be non existent, or shut down due to COVID. I mean come on, can anyone realistically see a NG guy or Gal having to drive to his local drill location (Armory) some 75 miles away from their home in outer West Virginia or Mississippi somewhere (just say'n) 3 days a week just to be able to train with all the correct practice equipment, to develop the proper workout techniques needed to pass the ACFT? Is AR/NG going to pay them perdiem to do that? And then there is the whole recruitment problems the ACFT is brining onto the service. Never knew now it's a little more complicated now but whatever - sweat saves blood. Hooah.
Being easy to administrator doesn't mean its a good test. APFT focuses on run times more than actual functional strength. There's more chance of lifting heavy equipment in a deployed scenario than there is running, push ups or sit ups.
I have a question? Unknowingly hit a thc vape, taking my 2nd urinalysis on dec6th, recruiter says I still have a good shot of going in? Is this true???
They let a lot of guys skate through with the ACFT kinda sad but it’s not that hard only thing you can do to help yourself prepare is find a pull up bar and do leg tucks and try and dead lift
Someone’s cat fishing me with your pics. FB profile ‘Ward Jemmy’. I tried reporting it but they had already blocked me when I started calling them out.
If you are watching this channel and you want to learn or join the military, learn to never give an opinion or your thoughts on something. Know the facts and why something is occurring. There is direction from the Pentagon based on studies leading to the ACFT which is why this is happening, not because some Lieutenant thinks it's because of the gym accessibility or pandemic.
So, fact #1 the acft is complicated and requires a lot of equipment. The Army is struggling to get the equipment out. It’s struggling to train people to administer the test. Even pre-covid #2 A lot of soldiers are failing the ACFT and they are blaming it on not being able to access the proper equipment/gyms. So because they are unable to get equipment to soldiers and the soldiers can’t properly train for the test they are delaying the “Official” recording of the scores. Those are all facts and not opinions. But please share the Pentagon link you’re referring to, I haven’t seen it

But please share the Pentagon link you’re referring to, I haven’t seen it
@@MattWard89 He's here as an antagonist, not worth your time.
