I could build a decent stock portfolio from the gear I bought that "didn't work" and had to be replaced with (usually cheaper) stuff that did.

I run a taurus G3 and many years of running a G19, while I only have had issues with mags and the shitty grip angle with glock, I have ran the G3 really hard and all manners of 9mm ammo, zero issues.
And my go to AR is my Delton.
Again zero issues with Delton.
S&W M&P many many cycling issues, and Springfield Saint I just cannot get it to run steel ammo, so they both have been sold.
I dont have a budget to go with Mojo's gear.
But like most anything, the KISS philosophy rings true.

@@jw5297 I have a taurus g3 as well, and if put it up against anything. It's a really good gun. It's not my only gun but it functions as well if not better than my others that are two to three times as much.

My kit has mainly been the same for the longest time. I absolutely hate back panels and will only use them if I plan on doing small reconning for target area, hide, or firing points but even then I keep most my shit in my vehicle. I love the versatility of the Crye Structural Plate Carrier, some of the components are rather anti-Spiritus, unObtainium, or Ferro, but can be fixed with 3rd party modifications I.e: AXL has adapted items to match the function of the user. Not a door-kicker but I have familiarized myself with material still very relevant to our operations.
Super eager to hear how you're liking the Aliengear holster after using for awhile. I got one and love it so far. Hoping it's a great holster as much as I love Safariland.

As a lefty, I think the best part you can get for a carbine is the FCD Ambi mag release. It just works. Rodger makes some good stuff 🦆

Over the last 30years, starting off a Jail Officer and then transitioning to the Police Department; I have bought enough LEO gear to fill a P.O.D.S. container.
Beginning with a S&W model 10 6-shooter w/ speedloaders in basketweave leathers; moving on to S&W 3rd gen semi-auto in Safariland rockin' to the side-then-thumbreak holsters; a short stint with Uncle Mike's nylon gear; moving on to Blackhawk polymer holsters, and then transitioning to the Glock line of pistols in Safariland ALS variants.
There's the evolution of soft Body Armor to steel, ceramic, and then some type of hybrid material Plate Carriers; and now going to be issued ballistic tac-vest that can be worn with class A uniform to get the weight off the waist and lower back ( 28years too late )........ the evolution of police gear has been impressive if not expensive. I hope the innovation and lifesaving technology continue to evolve. ps
I think its the patrol notebooks and the Mag-light series, especially the 6-cell D kel-lights flashlights that take up the most room in the P.O.D.S. container.

However if something bad happens and I burn through my pants because of it, I am absolutely certain that I will remember your words of caution! But hey... Have you ever tried First Spear Strandhogg PCs? That is what we use and I like it.
Mojo I'm curious when it comes to night vision, dual tube or single plus a tube on the carbine... I know that leaves issues with pistol but I'm cross eye dominant anyway and regular right hand carbine
Testing, vetting and improving gear for individual mechanics is why I have a tote full of pouches, another of holsters and a third and fourth of other random assorted line gear lol

I always ran the radio on the front of my vest because there were times that I had to change police channels to make notifications. As far as rifle magazines go, I only run 1 extra rifle magazine on my vest and one on my hip. The way I looked at it. If I had to go through 3 rifle magazines and spare pistol magazines when serving a warrant. It must be a bad day

Another way to warm up your helmet pads is to put your helmet on your knee. Old helicopter pilot trick while going through preflight.

Neither one of you mentioned your pistol grip it looks like the active officer has some thing with more of a backstrap hump on it
I use ghostman designs portal for the cap in safariland holster.
What light and holster model? I have a g17 PL350 SL6354. With my ZEV slide and a RMR the gun does not go into retention. With my p80 slide and 509T it fits perfectly.
