Cheers Sean, yep view counts are a bit ‘up and down’ but that’s TH-cam for you! I do alright in the main though and I’ve certainly been to more places doing this than I ever thought I’d get to 😊👍

I remember sailing past the Orkneys in a little coaster in 1959 in a howling gale! Great video. Cheers from Australia.

Cheers Jim! I love these little inter-island ferries. Would’ve done a few more up there if I had the time.

Enjoying your videos, only discovered you recently. You need to do more of the Orkney Islands, some of the further out ferries to Westray (I know you flew there) are nice. My brother lives on Westray. If you sailed to North Ronaldsay, cars have to be craned/winched off. That's an experience. North Ronaldsay had the tallest land based lighthouse in the UK I think. You can fly to/from there as well. It's quite far out however.
The west coast ferries, calmac are also great runs, you may have done videos on them but I've not discovered them yet.

Cheers Sam, totally agree. I kind of ran out of time on my last visit so I do have plenty more to try. I have done a few of the Hebridean ferries in the past but way before I started youtube and yes, the plan is to go back out there (probably Oban) and film from there. I do have one Calmac video on the Isle of Arran route which I really enjoyed. Worth a look if you have the time.

Cheers mate, I seem to be in Scotland a lot but then it’s got some fantastic scenery and transport options so it’s definitely worth it!

Great trip. This ferry looks like LCM or Landing Craft Machine rather than Ro-Ro due to rear ramp door absence.

Yes I think there’s a lot of this style of ferry up there. I’ll go back again one day and try a few more hopefully 😊

Those chairs look like the one's on the Stromness to Hoy ferry . I've only done one internal Orkney ferry, the Hoy one,one Shetland, Lerwick to Bressay and one Faroe Islands one,Torshaven to Nolsoy.

Yep, same here - this one! Lots of choice up there though and I would love to get to the Faroe Islands one day! Smyril don’t call at Shetland anymore though from what I gather.

@@LetsMakeaTrip I think that Smyrill might now be much more convenient than Lerwick and call in at either Scrabster or Aberdeen .I flew from Stansted to the Faroe Islands with Atlantic Airways.

Thanks Simon. I have been there before (on the ferry from Aberdeen). So no plans atm because there’s so many other islands I haven’t been to yet. Any recommendations though, please let me know 👍

The Peedie Sea (the small sea), they would call it The Perrie Sea in Shetland

Interesting. And it is pretty small. The hostel next to it has the same name. I nearly stayed there but had a mix up with the booking. Not much cheap accommodation in Kirkwall but the Orcades hostel was fine and the owners of both were very helpful.

Hi Walter, the word for small in Shetland is "Peerie".
