Would definitely give that a shot! I find my self in the situations sometimes, rather do that than carry and extra rod for sure Thank you for the video
Interesting...thx for sharing. I have not used putty in that way before. Certainly quicker than switching out and putting on a new reel with traditional line. Tightlines!
The rod I used in this video is the Mavrk Dual Convertible rod that can be fishes as 9' or 10'3." You can use this rod with ESN line or or floating line that's 2 to 4 wt.

Yeah, your way works and I can leave the long micro leader on. Good work-around. Thanks!

Yea, the putty is pricey but you can keep reusing it.
It does the trick for sure. you have to play with the amount and spacing, Every leader and line is different- but you'll figure it out.
Did the level fly line sink with puddy on it? Thanks!!
WV- It will puddle unless you give it some Juice. Hauling gives that little extra power for the weighted leader to shoot and prevent the puddle.
No, the putty is not heavy enough to sink the line - but it's heavy enough to shoot the line out there.
How’s the rod?
