Yes, the former British colonies with Indian immigrants from the 19th Century preserved the culture, as it happened to be, and encapsulated in time, today.

Kabir Singh--- we have kept our Hindu and Muslim traditions and also adopted the Christian traditions from the British who once ruled this country

I think it was a hindu wedding but I can not understand how the christan touch came in the end .Do Christan follow the same custom?

      Sir
It is quiet possible because they have migrated hundred years back. They were ruled by Britishes like us n was in minority in that country. Even certain community members have taken first name of catholic just to align with local culture. They suffered a lot under colonial rule. During those days there were no easy logistics like today to stay in touch with your base country. We should salute them for preserving the Indian culture in the country far away. Love from India.

They were under constant pressure to convert but still retained so much of Hindu culture. In India people get converted for as low as 100 rupees.

I from guyana, this happen with guyanese also. This hindu wedding has nothing to do with Christianity, some girls wear wedding dress and the boys wear sute only after the hindu wedding which is the reception.
