Finally, after 25 years working as a senior exec in several Fortune 500 companies, I have finally unplugged and gone digital nomadic. Finding the right skills that suits you and then developing it will be challenging for many of you. I tried many over a 5 year period before finally settling on "day-trading" as my passion. Now I can live a life of freedom and travel the world meeting like-minded folks like you without having to compromise on my income. Go nomadic guys and open your mind to a world of wonderful experiences. You have one life so don't be a slave to the system! - The voice of experience.

This channel has opened my eyes. I have always wanted to travel and I love Thailand and would love to just hop around from city to city. Love the temples and calmness of the people there. It's like heaven to me. I have also done a bit of online work years ago and after watching your $600 a month living in Chang Mai video, I think I can do this! Thanks for the videos they are very watchable, you are good at this. You have opened my eyes to a world of possibilities.
Great framework video, Chris! I'm a 20 year old digital marketing entrepreneur from New Zealand. I think it's awesome how the internet offers such working freedom. I hope to utilize my skills and work nomadically within 18 months. Your videos are very useful and I look forward to following your journey!
I have 10+ years in the digital media industry mainly worked as a web developer/designer. Right now I'm trying to make it myself. What you said was spot on.
Back then, it was different. The few people i heard calling themselves digital nomad made ten of thousands of dollars each month or theyre practically millionaires. They can live and really go anywhere. Now anyone can get a $100 dollar adwords coupon, read a book or two, or sell $50,000 worth of stuff online but only profited $300 and call themselves digital nomad. I think the real digital nomad are the ones that can really live anywhere in the world. Hence the word nomad and not just living in thailand or south east asia, but people can call themselves whatever they want.
I get ya. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you feel), the term digital nomad is no longer reserved for just location independent entrepreneurs. If that's all you are interested in, I can see why the influx of freelancers and remote workers might disappoint some but at the end of the day, the movement is not reserved for any one person of group.
I do freelance animation. I want to experiment with the digital nomad lifestyle this year, just to see if it's feasible for me and my work. Thank you for this insightful video!
Awesome video! The company I was working for downsized. I now find myself with an opportunity to pursue something I have dreamed about since late 2009. It's incredible that this is an actual thing and I'm not the only one who wants to do this. What's better is people are already doing this and I can learn from them. Thanks again for sharing!
This sounds like a great idea not only for those wanting a nomadic life, but also for many in small towns where employment opportunities are nil. Very interesting. I'm 60 and semi-retired. Looking for something to supplement the social security checks. This may not work for me, but it will be fun checking out all those links! Thanks, Chris! :)
If you live in a rural area, coding is probably the best thing to get into. You can learn online/by yourself and then get hired to work online, remotely. Like you lay low and learn your stuff over a couple of yearsand instantly put yourself into a much better tax bracket afterwards.
Hi, I’m 70 and finally looking at retirement. I won’t be able to be a digital nomad because of my wife’s health. That being said I’m looking for something in the country, not too far from her doctor, where we can settle. I’m about ready for the quiet country life of a semi-retired academic. Best of luck to you on your journey.
I have been watching so many videos on TH-cam trying to figure out a way to make more money and even though I don't know nothing about digital nomad I could not agree more with ADE BROWN . This video have a lot of good information, good links of references. Keep up the man , you rock 👊🏻
If you are thinking about taking a formal education approach for web development I defiantly agree with what he said that you're gonna end up learning outdated techniques and spend a shit load of money. I am currently in school for web development and design and graduate next month and a surprising amount of the things we learned are very outdated. If you do go just be aware that you are spending that money just to say you have a degree which is a plus but your money can be better spent on more up to date courses online at some off the sites he listed.
A very informative video. While I have no personal interest in the digital nomad lifestyle, you did answer many of the questions I had such as how you folks handle personal relationships and giving up many personal possessions.
You can also be a nomad by teaching ESL online. Companies like 51talk hire ESL teachers for worldwide students. The only drawback is to keep in mind that you and your students may have a time zone difference, particularly if you're moving around.
Yes, that's my plan. I currently teach a couple of classes through Skype so if I could make a living maybe combining online classes and regular ones too, that'd be the best. I'm about to get my teaching diploma and maybe I'll stay in my country for a couple more years to finish my degree in linguistics cos I wouldn't like to leave that unfinished and in the meantime travel in summer holidays and seeing if I could live permanently the nomadic lifestyle.
I WANT TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WATCHING YOUR VIDEO, I'm on minute 1:30 after just smoking a joint, and I Had to pause it. Why did I pause it? to write this comment. This is a life changing moment, for in my beautiful green mist tells me that you about to spit some truth right now. stumbled upon this, and its exactly what THIS GUY RIGHT HERE needed to hear. I'll be back in about 16 minutes to tell you the rest of MY EXPERIENCE WATCHING YOUR VIDEO. Good day.
Wow man thank you for this, it gave me a true step by step foundation to figure what to do and how to do it. You even gave out some great skills to learn and websites for everything! I've watched several other guides but they can be so vague almost like they're beating around the bush but this was perfect thank you!! I'm taking a break from school and I'm starting completely fresh with a new skill learning all on my own, wish me luck this digital nomad is my dream!!
Thanks Isaiah. I know what you mean. So many videos on TH-cam with click bait titles that don't actually provide the relevant information. I'm glad you liked it
Pretty good advice and a detailed step on how to get started. You've covered the right questions. It's your attitude and the way you bring your message across that's convincing to me: simple, structured and inspiring. Thanks and keep it up, dude.
believe in yourself. dont let nobody tell you that you can't. do it for the sake of yourself. continue learning, never stop educating yourself no matter your age.
You rock Chris! Thank you for making all the content that you do! I know you’re currently in Digital Nomad 2.0, but for those of us starting out your 1.0 videos are still a huge inspiration!
I usually hate the vlogger or all these people on the internet telling you about their life, and why it is so cool. But I really appreciate your vidoes. Down to earth. And you're not smilling all the time like the rest of these oh-so-cool wankers. I've always liked to travel, started renting a car on my vacation 3 years ago. I usually go solo and I'm quite happy about it. And I'm getting sick of my job. I was never good at all this internet thing - vlogs, facebook, twitter, instagram etc. I've got fake facebook account. But I would like to start living like a nomad as you put it. Not sure if a digital, but still. And here comes my guestion: how hard is it to get work around the world. Stationary work. I mean let's say I want to spent a month in Bangkok. I don't mind doing some shitty job for 5 days a week, as long as I spent weekend off sightseeing. You get the point. So can anyone tell me if somebody tried it and share his/her experience?
This video was *great!* I would love to go nomadic, but by brand is not quite big enough yet. Drop shipping would be something very interesting to look into though, as I feel I could potentially incorporate something like that into what I do. Thanks for the video! Onward to another! 😝😍
I negotiated a remote work agreement with my employer. I worked on-site for about a year to prove myself, and then successfully pitched the request. I also run a TH-cam channel and travel blog.
I work internationally because of the company I work for, but I am thinking about doing the nomadic lifestyle at least for a year to see how I like it. I already know the services I can offer remotely and the income I can generate. My question is related to visas. Most countries you need a work visa or some type of visa to stay there more than 90 days (assuming you are a US or UK citizen), so how are you staying in places like Chang Mai for longer periods? What kind of visa system are you using? My current employer takes care of my visa so it's something I never had to worry about. I am a US citizen if that helps in the answer. Thank you.
If you really want to live on the edge I would suggest becoming a contractor for the company you are working at, open a bank account in honk kong since your work will be done online (0% corporate tax if money is made outside of China) and travel to different countries. Also get an accountant and llc lawyer for all the technicals. That is where you start

Such a good video. I've been sending people here. The framework is super good and I'm using it to get stuff DONE! Big ups for mentioning T. Ferris who changed our paradigm of thought on this. Good job Chris-hope to meet you one day!
great video. you were very honest and very informative. you didn't pretend like you knew what investing was, which a lot of youtubers will pretend they do to make themselves look knowledgable in everything
I've been on TH-cam since 2008 and this is the best video I've ever seen honestly I saved it and I have it playing on a loop on all my TV's, I even watch it while I make love
Excellent video, nice work. Very informative, especially love the advice regarding the influence the people you spend the most time with (not necessarily your 'best friends') have on you and who you're becoming. Tim Ferriss is a major advocate of the importance in understanding this relationship. Chris, your point on channels like yours and Riley's serving as a helpful influence to folks who are in the early stages of transitioning from a work then live lifestyle to a work and live (Create an online based business, mainly). I'm looking forward to enrolling in the Course Riley & Parker are coming out with. Great pc guys!
Great video; Very thorough! Maybe you could make a video talking about living 'lightly'/minimalistically? Do you still have anything at home or did you get rid of everything before you left? I'd like to get rid of everything, but I don't know what to do about sentimental items. Storage? etc. That kind of thing.
Cool. I'll put that on my list of video ideas. I'm not the biggest minimalist though so I might have to invite an appropriate guest on the channel. In the meantime, checkout Nick Danforth's 'digital nomad packing guide' here on TH-cam
This is gold. Just do it! I'm literally the guy who just books the flight the same day and just takes off. I've been researching a lot about dropshipping recently and it might do the trick just to start going. Though I would like to eventually be able to start something really creative. And be able to make my living off of that. Cheers bro.
Universities are now capitalizing on the digital lifestyle, with MOOCs and digital certificates (our university has one). I often teach a digital media class for my university - Would love to chat about having you guest speak on digital nomad work-life.
Great video Chris. Just wondering, what do you do for insurance? I guess if you are bouncing between countries in SE Asia, you would want peace of mind in case you get sick or your possessions go missing?
Drop shipping is super old marketing method. Before internet, it was called mail order. You advertise, get orders, contact manufacturer to ship directly. Only the ordering was moved to internet.
Learned two things at school, how to tell time and that I was stupid... Everything else I taught myself, including how to fly a plane lol btw, just messaged you on Instagram
I think people who fail or take the wrong course typically think "standard education" is somehow bad or not worth it. This is simply not true as with anything if you take the correct path and put in the work it will yield rewards.
Funny, I didn't get the impression that Chris said anything of the sort. He specified his opinion starting at 4:42 that for digital coursework, a typical or standard 4-year education is often not worth the time and money it takes because the material becomes outdated even as it is being taught. I would hands-down agree with that.
It is "were against," not "was against." Your distain for education is evident in your grammar. The choice is simple, would you rather be educated or ignorant?
Hey Chris, would you consider doing a video on Visa's? there's not a huge amount of videos about what kind of Visa's Nomads need and the process of doing visa runs etc. It'd be awesome to see a video on this process as its a big part of being a digital nomad and there's not a huge amount of information about what Visa's nomads use, how long they last and the ability to get back into the country they are currently working in once the Visa expires. Thanks and keep up the awesome channel man.
If I don't get convicted I will move to this place as soon as I can, you have inspiring me in so many ways, keep up the good work man I know this is an old video but it's just so sad to think I won't be able to pursue my dreams because of childhood abuse and trauma
Hey man, I grew up hard, a violent alcoholic father and a mother who liked to add humiliation to the whippings. I also suffer from OCD. Sucks, but I got the f out of there, got my education and became a commercial pilot. Now I’m teaching at a community college. There is NOTHING special about me. If I can make it, so can you. Keep at in. To borrow a phrase: “when it seems hopeless, you gotta’ get mean, I mean plum mad dog mean.” Stay strong; I’ll pray for you.
hey chris, I'm from Indonesia, so glad I can watch this video, this is very inspiring for me. and I've been watching this video over and over again. I hope in mid 2018 I can travel as you do
How long did it take you to grow your audience online? How often did you post to grow that group before you could start making money on TH-cam or start selling products to you followers? Was TH-cam your passion before it was your business?
Hi Chris, Thanks for the video. I'm looking to do this in August. When I speak to friends about it, they say I'm crazy, however, to me, this is the most thought out thing that I've ever decided to do!
Wow this is like a dejavu. Watch a video about this topic yesterday from a channel that I subscribe and he told be a part from Bali Chang mai is one of the best place to be a digital Nomad. I've already subscribe to u bro. Lots of love from KL Malaysia.
Hi Chris, I'm currently getting my master's in Computer Science. My bachelors was in International Business. Most of my work experience comes from writing business plans for startups. For someone that likes to travel, what would be your advise for someone that has my skill sets in becoming a digital nomad. Thanks in advance
I'll give this advice. "Great things happen outside your comfort zone." It is so much fun people. Take the dive. I started about 2 years ago an on my 2nd country. 1. Japan 2. Ecuador Next year hoping for Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia or China. Don't know yet. Any suggestions?
Hi, I saw your comment on my channel and was curious to learn from you. Your channel is great with really nice contents. The information that you give on this blog is really helpful for me. Keep on the good work! You got yourself a new subscriber!!!
Hi Chris, One thing you didn't cover (you may of in another video but I have just found your channel) is how you have dealt with language barriers? I'd like to hear a little on this. Great video and thank you for sharing your experiences. Many thanks!
A good place to start is to ask yourself: how can I make an income online? Often the answer is a remote job similar to the one you already have, a freelancing career, or a business or service you can offer to international clients. Happy to help elaborate!
Best place fr Digital Nomad ii Miri City, an Oil & Gas city of Malaysia. Everything is excellent here. Starting from lifestyle, beach, cleanliness, modern city, fast internet, beautiful girls, low cost of living, just a stone's throw away from Brunei and more.
Chris, I just wanna say cheers brother! Your approach to easily understand and connect with the message in the videos are refreshing. Keep it real. And thanks again. Peace
Hey Chris, If you really have a wide and global reaching Nomad network as you claim, let's see if you can compile a list of rare talent and skillset areas and post it, where you don't need to compete with everybody in small towns in India and the Philippines and that the corporate hiring clients, will be willing to hire someone with less than awesome level of expertise and pay them decently- in other words they will be willing to compromise, since are rare in high demand skillsets !!!
There is a huge difference between being young and lets say over 40 in this aspect - for one - most younger people can afford to make mistakes - they are base-healthier and less dependant, less tied down than 40+ - and they can't count on parents to bail them out, send money in emergencies or let you stash your stuff and register your address at their place while you are gone, plus there are so many young people around, socially it's easier - older people take a bigger risk in other words, which is why we have to be extra careful before taking that leap, cause it could be disastrous/fatal even - man I wish I was in my 20's and parents were still around........but useful info there Chris - good stuff.....:-)
Yeah. Those are definitely legitimate concerns. I feel it probably becomes less appealing as you get older. The option is still there though if you decide to take the risk and put up with the possible downsides
On the contrary - the appeal becomes even more enticing - weather, dead-end job, being bogged down - the obstacles are just greater, as is the risk, at least percieved risk, of taking the leap, in my opinion - in my 20's I was basically a vagrant and happy about it - fit as a fiddle and not a care in the world, while it lasted - then family comes around - money money money - end of story....:-)......then you have to wait until the kids grow up - omg - is this a crybaby story or what.....:-).....keep em vids comin, mate....:-)
Thank you so much for this video! So much time went into this and I really appreciate it! I'm studying sooo much right now to make an online living. My boyfriend and I are taking the leap and moving to Amsterdam in April 2017. We plan to get jobs there when we move there... But overall to be a digital nomad is my biggest goal. We have loads of travel plans. Your videos are really helping us a lot on this journey :) Thanks! I just subscribed :)
Good video that shows all the options of what you can do as a digital nomad. But I think the most important thing is to be aware of what you are really good at. 👍 You should build on your skills. 😀
I would love to work remotely, I work office jobs anyway, I don't see the difference between doing it at home or doing it at the office, I prefer to save commuting costs though.
Thank you for this great guide Chris! I'm about to start my digital nomadic career. Came across your channel and Brett's. You two are just insanely awesome ;) Hello from the Philippines :D - Jon
Hi Chris, Absorbing everything your offering. Thank you for your time. I have a question about pursuing the life of a digital nomad. What are rules one has to follow to whether develop web pages or producing code?
What I mean is, what can I do and what I cannot do without offending others; copyrights, outsourcing, taxes, contracts, and anything that worried you before you started to cover your end . How do you know when you're ready?
+Jack Jack ok not sure why you're thinking of that so early. Programming is not like accounting or law. I don't see how these things you've mentioned would be a large concern
Gr8 content! But you didn't mention visas at all when talking about barriers ... we from the middle east need to do weeks of paper work before eventually getting a visa ... it's interesting how people from first world countries with powerfull passports easily ignore that ...
Hi Chris , What video editing software do you use to edit clips like this. i notice that youtubers can edit the video but still keep the sound smooth even when the video is clipped . maybe you could make a tutorial on it , that would be great
I have been thinking of a location independent lifestyle for years but have allowed any number things (nearly all fear based) prevent from taking the leap of faith. I am determined to change this with the sale of my house and purging of my "stuff". I don't code or have any of the skills that so many folks write about utilizing for this lifestyle so have been exploring teaching English while working to build an eCom store and dropship. Do Digitial Nomads consider teaching English as part of the movement? I have worked from home for years in my current career and understand the value of community and support systems and just wondered if teachers are generally part of the larger movement? Thanks for the information!
Teaching English is probably a good way to transition into this lifestyle but unless you're teaching online, you're always going to be at least somewhat location dependent.
I am currently in IT security but I want to get into freelance programing on the side. I don't know much about coding right now and I am not sure where I should start or what is in demand. I am not sure if I should be looking at Web Development or just learning a coding language.
Thank you for this awesome video. Really great advices and value. :) My thinking is about how to be an nomad artist. Keeping just the essential, to keep drawing during travel, that kind of things. "Training" is also good. i'm living right now in a 9 square meter student room, and I have to keep what I need and not living with too much. That's a great way to become used to a kind of minimalist life style.
Good video. Has anyone found success doing this in bursts? Ie remoting for a couple/few weeks a year. I recently moved to Sweden (I'm more of a digital migrator), and this is a temptimg winter option.
Keep up the good work. Very inspiring channel. I'm currently a dev in a company in Silicon Valley so it looks like the learning how to code part is more or less taken care of. I'd like to try to go nomad one day and maybe share the adventures on youtube as well!
Thank you for the great video. I'm about to go digital nomad and a bit anxious, even though I've travelled a lot, for long periods. I'm still nervous. But I'm doing it anyway, because I am the son of Thor.
I saw this video a few years ago wishing to be a digital nomad. After a year of trying, I made it. Now I can work while traveling the world. 🙃🤩🤩

I'm taking a break from school and I'm starting completely fresh with a new skill learning all on my own, wish me luck this digital nomad is my dream!!
Thanks Isaiah. I know what you mean. So many videos on TH-cam with click bait titles that don't actually provide the relevant information. I'm glad you liked it
Today was my first day back to my job after a three week holiday in Bali. I need to become a digital nomad!
What kind of work do you do?
Pretty good advice and a detailed step on how to get started. You've covered the right questions. It's your attitude and the way you bring your message across that's convincing to me: simple, structured and inspiring. Thanks and keep it up, dude.
Thanks bro!
believe in yourself. dont let nobody tell you that you can't. do it for the sake of yourself. continue learning, never stop educating yourself no matter your age.
This video is one that I saved on my TH-cam and always remember this. I saw Chris before in Chiang Mai but I forgot to say hi. I’m inspired.
Awesome introduction to digital nomad lifestyle !
Question: What's the % of money you make CODDING vs VLOGGING?
100% vlogging haha
Another thing to consider when choosing a location - time zones. Chatting with my UK clients from eastern europe isn't too bad, SE asia though...
Thank you.
I'd love to know more about this as well.
If you really want to live on the edge I would suggest becoming a contractor for the company you are working at, open a bank account in honk kong since your work will be done online (0% corporate tax if money is made outside of China) and travel to different countries. Also get an accountant and llc lawyer for all the technicals. That is where you start
prayl00185 A lot of people use tourist visas & just do visa runs to extend your visa periodically.
May i ask what company you work for?
prayl00185 German citizens still possess the world's most powerful passport, according to new research, with Britain slipping from joint third to joint eighth place. The ranking by Henley & Partners, a citizenship and planning firm, takes into account how many countries can be visited without applying for a visa. German passport holders can travel to 176 out of a possible 218, while Britons can visit 173. -
1. Germany, 176 countries can be visited without a visa
2. Sweden, 175
=3. Denmark, Finland, Italy, Spain, United States, 174
=8. Austria, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, United Kingdom, 173
Why you dont have any Videos on your channel ,bro ?
Great tips, i'm digitally nomadic a few months a year.
My client is Australian. Been doing freelance jobs for him for over a year now. I guess I'm lucky.
Tom Bombadil what do u do?
Which job you're doing?
You are a great coach mate. Accesible and informative. Respect and gratitude.
Thank you EDO STONE
Great video Chris. Just wondering, what do you do for insurance? I guess if you are bouncing between countries in SE Asia, you would want peace of mind in case you get sick or your possessions go missing?
Hey Alex. I have a travel insurance policy with insure and go
Drop shipping is super old marketing method. Before internet, it was called mail order. You advertise, get orders, contact manufacturer to ship directly. Only the ordering was moved to internet.
loved that you simply said you was against standard education. me too!!
Yeah man. I agree with Gary V. It's the biggest racket!
Already done a video on this. Look up 'Hong Kong Border Run'
+Chris the Freelancer oh no shit, thanks man
Your advices couldn't have been better. Thank you!
Or learn everything you can for free online.
Yeah, and then stuff is outdated, you have to sift through a ton of useless BS, and it will take you longer to succeed.
@@NickOloteo thats where courses come in.
Chris this is incredibly infomative - the most comprehensive video on being DN so far x
Thanks again Olivia
Wow! This video was made 6 years ago! Before COVID-19 How things have changed ..
I hope in mid 2018 I can travel as you do
Another thoughtful video as usual. Nice work, and congrats on hitting 1k subscribers!
I just woke up and saw it! Thanks man!
Well done Chris you are one of the best and most informative in this field of becoming location independent, keep it up
How long did it take you to grow your audience online? How often did you post to grow that group before you could start making money on TH-cam or start selling products to you followers? Was TH-cam your passion before it was your business?
Hi Chris, Thanks for the video. I'm looking to do this in August. When I speak to friends about it, they say I'm crazy, however, to me, this is the most thought out thing that I've ever decided to do!
haha my Dad said the same thing. Don't worry about it. They'll understand eventually.
Wow this is like a dejavu. Watch a video about this topic yesterday from a channel that I subscribe and he told be a part from Bali Chang mai is one of the best place to be a digital Nomad. I've already subscribe to u bro. Lots of love from KL Malaysia.
From dubai here..got idea now because of you. Thank you
Hi Chris,
I'm currently getting my master's in Computer Science. My bachelors was in International Business. Most of my work experience comes from writing business plans for startups. For someone that likes to travel, what would be your advise for someone that has my skill sets in becoming a digital nomad. Thanks in advance
Great work Chris, super proud of you! Keep up the great work
Thanks guys. You too!
I'll give this advice. "Great things happen outside your comfort zone."
It is so much fun people. Take the dive. I started about 2 years ago an on my 2nd country.
1. Japan
2. Ecuador
Next year hoping for Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia or China. Don't know yet. Any suggestions?
Sounds pretty cool, hope it goes well! May I ask what kind of work you do?
Wow, this is a great video! Thank you for the insight! You confirmed and encouraged exactly what I needed. Thank you kindly! 👊
Hi, I saw your comment on my channel and was curious to learn from you. Your channel is great with really nice contents. The information that you give on this blog is really helpful for me. Keep on the good work! You got yourself a new subscriber!!!
Takyo Travel awesome! Thanks man
Hi Chris,
One thing you didn't cover (you may of in another video but I have just found your channel) is how you have dealt with language barriers? I'd like to hear a little on this.
Great video and thank you for sharing your experiences.
Many thanks!
Hasn't been a problem for me at this stage.
Thank you so much for these videos! I have a question. What are the things code is used for? For example, what kind of jobs do you do?
Websites, Apps, Video games, all kinds of things
Hi Chris
Thanks for sharing & answering the big question. Where to start to become a DN
Chris, excellent video sir. Respect for you and your travels. Keep it up son!
Clearly and very well explained. Kudos mate, cheers
Chris, I just wanna say cheers brother! Your approach to easily understand and connect with the message in the videos are refreshing. Keep it real. And thanks again. Peace
Hey Chris,
If you really have a wide and global reaching Nomad network as you claim, let's see if you can compile a list of rare talent and skillset areas and post it, where you don't need to compete with everybody in small towns in India and the Philippines and that the corporate hiring clients, will be willing to hire someone with less than awesome level of expertise and pay them decently- in other words they will be willing to compromise, since are rare in high demand skillsets !!!
On the contrary - the appeal becomes even more enticing - weather, dead-end job, being bogged down - the obstacles are just greater, as is the risk, at least percieved risk, of taking the leap, in my opinion - in my 20's I was basically a vagrant and happy about it - fit as a fiddle and not a care in the world, while it lasted - then family comes around - money money money - end of story....:-)......then you have to wait until the kids grow up - omg - is this a crybaby story or what.....:-).....keep em vids comin, mate....:-)
agreed - after the family thing...:-)
That wasn't true for me. I started when I was 50, significant was my children reaching adulthood, and getting divorced.
Good job Chris. Only problem is when they want a Jedi Master, but pay only for a Padawan. Hope that's not your case 😃
Yes. That can definitely be a problem when you're freelancing
You should build on your skills. 😀
Thanks Chris for the motivation. Currently working hard on the number 1! Building Skills.
try being a nomad on Albania. Id recommend
Amazing video, thanks for sharing this
I agree but just having skills doesn't cut it in job posting they ask for 5+ years in specific technology.
Depends on what job you're after. Ones that ask for tons of experience I just skip completely. Plenty of other opportunities.
I would love to work remotely, I work office jobs anyway, I don't see the difference between doing it at home or doing it at the office, I prefer to save commuting costs though.
I've watched tons of videos on digital nomads life, your video has the best content ! Awesome content. Thank you very much !!
Great video Chris, thank you
Thank you
Thank you for this great guide Chris! I'm about to start my digital nomadic career. Came across your channel and Brett's. You two are just insanely awesome ;) Hello from the Philippines :D - Jon
Thanks and welcome Jonathan
Hi Chris,
Absorbing everything your offering. Thank you for your time. I have a question about pursuing the life of a digital nomad. What are rules one has to follow to whether develop web pages or producing code?
Thanks Jack. What do mean by rules?
What I mean is, what can I do and what I cannot do without offending others; copyrights, outsourcing, taxes, contracts, and anything that worried you before you started to cover your end
.
How do you know when you're ready?
+Jack Jack ok not sure why you're thinking of that so early. Programming is not like accounting or law. I don't see how these things you've mentioned would be a large concern
I'll definitely start with this framework. Thank you for the kind explanation. Already enrolled with a couple of iOS courses.
Gr8 content! But you didn't mention visas at all when talking about barriers ... we from the middle east need to do weeks of paper work before eventually getting a visa ... it's interesting how people from first world countries with powerfull passports easily ignore that ...
Guru...You are the tech guru..salute from ASIA (Bangladesh)
Thanks Mahbub
It would be good to know more about online business and options in this field
I have a free series called masterclass if you're interested. th-cam.com/play/PL6T3Gj9s-cLBB4p-vvKToiL971W5fQDMY.html
Hi Chris , What video editing software do you use to edit clips like this. i notice that youtubers can edit the video but still keep the sound smooth even when the video is clipped . maybe you could make a tutorial on it , that would be great
Hi Ross. I use Final Cut Pro X for editing but it's not necessarily that important what software you use.
Thank you Chris! You answered questions I didn't know I had yet!
Haha awesome. Glad you found it helpful
Hi Chris! I like the way you explain the things...Very easy to grab!...Kudos!
Great Work!
Really helpful video Chris. What type of job would make the highest money by freelancing? And how much approximately?
Hard to say man. It's based on so many factors. Easy answer is to become a developer
I am currently in IT security but I want to get into freelance programing on the side. I don't know much about coding right now and I am not sure where I should start or what is in demand. I am not sure if I should be looking at Web Development or just learning a coding language.
Thank you for this awesome video. Really great advices and value. :)
My thinking is about how to be an nomad artist. Keeping just the essential, to keep drawing during travel, that kind of things.
"Training" is also good. i'm living right now in a 9 square meter student room, and I have to keep what I need and not living with too much. That's a great way to become used to a kind of minimalist life style.
Have you considered teaching what you do online?
EDO STONE I already share my experiences, drawings, tutorials on my TH-cam Channel. But not selling courses yet.
Awesome man...well hope it works out how envision it. I am in the process of building an online coaching service.
Takes time hey. All the best
EDO STONE Takes time but it is awesome.
EDO STONE Takes time but it is awesome.
Great video on how to live the life of a digital nomad. Resourceful material.
Thank you for the great video. I'm about to go digital nomad and a bit anxious, even though I've travelled a lot, for long periods. I'm still nervous. But I'm doing it anyway, because I am the son of Thor.
Thanks for this video now I know how to start. More info on starting an online business would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Valentino
