Normal people do not rant for weeks and months about the same thing. DSP ranted for a month about a burger. He ranted for months about "games being too long". He ranted for months about "open world games". He ranted for years about "needing to catch the hard core gaming season". He has ranted for years about people pointing out his flaws. He's just so stuck in his echo chamber that he doesn't realize he embodies the very thing he claims to hate.

It’s not even RPGs anymore. Any game nowadays, is at least 10-15 hours. I’m not complaining, I’m actually happy about it, it gives me more time to get engrossed in the story, world, lore, etc. Hell, I’m playing through all the Yakuza games right now and Y0 is just about halfway done and I’m 23 hours in.

For the lightning: Yes, that does add a strategic element. You now need to carry wooden/zonite weapons or fight without your metal weapons somehow. It adds en element of unpredictability and encourages creativity. BUILD something.
The lightning can also be used to your advantage. Throw metal things at enemies. Throw a metal boomerang. You could even drop a metal sword and run away.

Maybe that's YOUR fault for trying to juggle so many games at once and getting nowhere with them instead of just buckling down on 2 or maybe even 3 games you really like and genuinely wanted to play and actually focusing on them, which would actually let you see improvement between play sessions.
That's how most streamers are, they play a select few games among the new ones that actually appeals to them, that they WANT to play, not take a sample platter of every single game from every single genre and play all of them at the same time.
