Queen Victoria - The Grandmother of Europe - British Monarchs - Prince Albert

  • One of the hardest projects I had to work on, as the face of Queen Victoria was always changing during her life, from teenager to maturity, while she struggled with depression and obesity. Queen Victoria is associated with Britain's great age of industrial expansion, economic progress and, especially, empire. Victoria gave birth to 9 children who got married into royal and noble families across the continent, earning Victoria the sobriquet "The Grandmother of Europe." We also look at the face of her husband Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, the Prince consort.

    Thank you for illuminating the life of Queen Victoria. Life is so hard for all of us and many times we have challenges that seem impossible to overcome. Losing Prince Albert at only 42 years old almost made her lose her footing and it's a lesson for all of us that no matter how hard we get hit, we have got to find a way to turn the page and move on.

      She needed men. With the passing of Albert John Brown became her masculine figure. Later in life it was Abdul Karim. Mrs. Brown is a great movie. Billy Connolys best work.

    I am absolutely amazed at the fact that it is now possible to illustrate how people from hundreds of years ago such as kings and queens, would actually have looked “in the flesh”, rather than how they appear in portraits. Well done for producing the incredible images.

    Prince Albert should have been her King consort. Born queens deserve to have a King consort as Kings can have Queen consorts.

    • @janetpendlebury6808
      @janetpendlebury6808 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The proper title for the husband of a ruling monarch is "Prince Consort." The title of "King" is only given to a male who inherits the throne and reigns as monarch. A king is automatically ranked higher than a Queen so she, nor our currant queen could have a King consort.
