But, I had been thinking I was wrong all that time i.e. some bad connection. Now, with this video I'll have to see some other time if other clusters are still good. Thanks.

    • @jeffescortlx
      @jeffescortlx  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the Nissan it's probably not the stepper motor. But a self sweep test will confirm quickly and easily. The Nissan's calculate the fuel level at the instrument cluster like Fords do. It's common for them to have fractured solder joints in the resistor network that reads the fuel level. There's also a chance it's a sending unit, but a good scan tool should be able to read the sending unit.

      He did not confirm it was a 2004 pcb and that didn’t even occur to me to ask. I sent him videos and pics of the problem when it would occur. It’s completely random when it happens and only at start up then will clear up whenever it wants lol. All I know is the voltage regulator in mine is 180 degrees the opposite direction of the one in your video here. Are there any giveaways that it’d be a 2004? Because I have pics from when I took it apart

      @@chrispekas4387since you're voltage regulator is facing the other direction it is safe to assume that it would be a 2003-2004 PCB design. So it will be different than the one in this video. Either the problem is local to the instrument cluster, or the entire vehicle is losing buss communication and the clusters just the symptom of the vehicle having the problem rather than the source of causing the problem.

    Hey, Hi! I would like to see if you could repair my cluster. It’s from a 2010 Chevy, long story short sometimes it would run fine or sometime it just wouldn’t turn on till it stop turning on, so for the last year or so I’ve been using another one that my friend got for me for a really low low price. I could actually send you the one I have on now after and you could use it for parts or what not.

      If it works when hot, but not when cold then this is from the batch of 2008+ that have defective microprocessors. Unfortunately I'm not currently setup to replace this chip that requires flashing.

      @@jeffescortlx oh no it was intermittent. I seen another cluster you fix but I can’t remember the exact year and it was a while back that I had seen it but it had same issues exactly like mine.

    Would love the meter. Not a 9v battery.
