- Welcome back to another episode of The (unofficial) Deluge Video manual, a series where I show you all I know about using the Synthstrom Deluge (firmware version 4.0). In this video, we're finally jumping into learning the subtractive synthesis options avaliable to us on the Deluge! There's a few mistakes made throughout this one, but I've included some text in those parts to help correct some of them. Hope this one's easy to follow along with for all of you. Enjoy! :)

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I think the touches nut to crack was the ring mod section. It was one of those things I learned, I explained, and then promptly forgot lol. Every time I go to use it I have to watch my own video 😅

As usual, great video and thanks for your work. Also I think there is no need for apologies if some details are missing during an basic explanation of a concept like PWM 🙂 You mentioned that the Deluge series is coming to an end. Do you already have an idea if you will produce further video manuals for other devices (like the Zoia for example)?
Thanks so much! Glad to hear people weren't too upset about that. Once this series has ended, I want to make a new series called the Deluge Workflow Guide, that shows how to make songs, perform, etc. I also have plans to do a manual of sorts for the Zoia, but I'm still planning that all out on paper at this stage. The Zoia is so big, and I'm trying to find a way to cover everything. After that I've got a bit of an Ableton Groovebox series planned, which I think might be really useful to people, and I've also got my eye on an AE Modular kit, but I'm not sure about that yet.
All that said and done, my art channel is missing me, so I'm working on some content for that while doing all of this haha. Man I wish I had more time...

Great videos by the way, amazing content as I learn to use my new Deluge. Thank you for your time. Question: Has anyone figured out a way to sync the unison "Rate" ? You can hear this at 22:53 . As the number is turned up. And then really hear it at 23:40 when detuned. The voices seem to phase in and out at different rates causing a vibrato and I don't know what controls that rate.
Thanks! I'm not sure how to change the rate. I know that the standard vibrato rate is mapped to LFO2, so you could try that, but otherwise I'm not sure. Maybe the tempo has something to do with it? I'm not with my Deluge to check sorry.
These videos are so clear! Thanks for sharing. I don't own a Deluge yet, wondering if you can use the Arp (and that cool LFO free rate trick you show) with samples or multisamples.

@@RSKT_music a big challenge with TH-cam when you are making such good in depth videos, is your frequency of new videos is relatively low. Even crappy channels blow up when they post every day.
A good suggestion would be to have a series called some name like "quick cuts" or whatever and just post basic learning videos every few days or more.
Like a drive by of general synth stuff. "attack" "decay" "what is an oscillator"
May sound too simple for us, but it could be cool. "this is what an oscillator does. The first oscillators used for music was back in this time and it worked like this. Without this small electrical circuit, you wouldn't have sound, so say thank you to this little guy every once in a while. See you tomorrow. Bye"

I am not a TH-camr, but professionally work with search engine optimization and such and I have heard and know that TH-cam rewards channels with frequent videos like CRAZY.
You could also just have quick videos showing your favorite way to get samples, favorite other TH-camrs, how you got into music, do you have a mixer? Favorite cables, etc.
That's five videos right there
3 minutes each.
People aren't just here for the tutorial, they will become engaged in you as well. That's a product.
Subs would start exploding. 100k in a year is possible, 500k next year, 1million next year. I've witnessed it happen.
That's how these terrible bloggers who give nothing back are so huge, because they posted like 3 times a day.
So for you, who is actually great, you don't need 3 times a day. I've every other day or something. Just casual vids.

These are all fantastic ideas. I actually have a massive roadmap for this channel over the next year, but I'm kicking things off with this for now. I do have a second channel with nearly 6000 subs. Managed to monetize it within a year, but I'm trying things a little differently with this channel.
Either way, I might have an editor starting to work for me soon, so that might help speed things along.
