I feel the best remixes surround the core track with instrumentals (and sometimes adding them in the middle) for the build up, allowing the main song to take center stage, which gives the listener even more of the song they love. I'm not sure how often you get requests (or if you take them) but I wanted to ask someone who does remixes if it's possible to take this little gem of a song called "Heaven Is" by the late great Al Jarreau and flesh it out to a full version from it's current use as an end credits song with some dialog over the beginning by the late great Dom DeLuise. (The song begins at 1:16:48 at the end of this animated movie (The Magic Voyage 1992) - th-cam.com/video/nAyIye_SIVU/w-d-xo.html - The movie is very sub par but I've never forgotten this last track. I was thinking maybe borrowing the song's ending and mixing it to it's beginning? Do you think it would be possible? Thanks again, Grandad Steve!

Many thanks. The "blending" between the original and the backing track is always the hardest part. (especially on the older 1960's 70's recordings) If you (or anyone out there) knows any good software programmes/equalizers etc. that can in effect make two different recordings "sound" the same then that would save me a lot of time - especially as my ears seem to be getting older a lot quicker than the rest of me ha ha. I absolutely love this song! Your re-mix adds, but doesn't change it fundamentally, and that is a good thing. This song brings me to happy tears every time I hear it play anywhere. Good memories. Something old and something new. Technical question, is that a turntable mixer or just software? You should do a behind the scenes video.
