I understand Volk is the best fighter on the planet. But y'all need to see Topuria fight. The guy is so textbook in everything he does, and he's improving so much more. I wouldn't be too shocked if Volk lost to him. Ilia has got almost picture perfect basics to make him world champ.
Sure, Topuria is good. But HOW ON EARTH does he beat Volk as he is now? Volk is undoubtedly a superior striker, their grappling is similar, however Volk defended a lot of grappling from the best grappler in MMA rn, Islam, so I doubt Topuria would be even really a threat. And, Volk is ALWAYS analyzing his opponents to the next level. Topuria fights slow, and Volk would just overwhelm him with his exhausting pace. I love Topuria, he's good and I think a future champ. Just not while "The Great" exists. I think he needs at least 1 more top 5 fight before a title shot against Volk, and even if he does get that shot, I seriously doubt he wins

I like Topuria’s style, BUT he needs to work on something that will totally surprise Volk. Many people sleep on Volk’s fight intelligence, but he is smart. So, Topuria needs to be smarter, make zero mistakes, Be better on defending takedowns and outstrike Volk. I don’t see him getting a TKO or a Submission win, The only way he can beat volk is through decision. So, he needs to fight smart.

I dunno what would happen between Volk and Topuria, but i genuinely think Topuria will put up more fight than Max or Yair, based in what we've seen so far. Max always takes tons of damage, Yair is a glass canon with great power but not elite defense. I cannot help but seeing Topuria as the only one with enough tools for having a good chance or at least to gave us a hell of a fight.

What topuria has is power , and a combination with that. But literally, how is he gonna set that up with volk when he’s always feinting and catching counters too. Esa confianza en uno mismo es lo que puede hacer campeon a Topuria. ( Bueno la confianza influye mucho, pero tambien es bueno en muchos terrenos... Solo hay que ver su ultima pelea que su punto debil fue su fuerte y dio catedra... No le llevo al suelo para que no dijeran que Topuria era superior en el suelo y por eso vencio) En este combate tenia claro que ganaba Volka, pero la verdad que tenia esperanzas en Yair y segun pasaron 2 rounds me defraudo un poco... Topuria is good, but not a great striker in comparison to people like Max and Yair. Volk is easily on the same level of striking, if not better than them. His style is TERRIBLE for Topuria, because Topuria really poses no grappling threat, and Volk has better striking. He'd PROBABLY out pace and just overwhelm Topuria, cause voli is very active, or tends to be, while Topuria is a slow fighter who takes his time. I do think Topuria is a future champ, hes REALLY well rounded. Just, not like Volk, nor will he be a champ when Volk still has that crown.

Firstly I think what Ilia said was the fight was “the poorest fight he’s ever seen in his life” I don’t think he was calling the fight boring but that was his attempt at trash talking and selling the fight with him and Volk. I think that was an easy misunderstanding. Secondly, he’s not the greatest interview I’d like to see him, improve in that aspect. Also in his kicking game, if he wants to stand a chance against Volk. He’s amazing everywhere but doesn’t throw enough kicks, Volk will capitalize on that weakness.

In their last 2 fights Volk was aggressor the whole time while Ilia just sat and waited for counters, which is much easier than leading the dance.
