Excuse me. Let me tell you something about durian XD The reason why some people find durian smelly and others find it fragrant is that the smell of durian is made up of up to 20 chemical molecules, of which about 10 can be detected. thiol. People who find durian fragrant have a more sensitive nose because their olfactory receptors can analyse a greater number of chemical molecules and can therefore detect chemicals such as ketones and esters that give off a sweet, fruity aroma. People who find durian smelly are only able to smell the volatile sulfur-containing compounds, volatile amines, fatty acids, etc. The reason why so few people in Europe and the United States like durian, but why it is so popular in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia, is due to the evolutionary characteristics of the organism. The durian is a native species indigenous to Southeast Asia, and as Southeast Asians have lived with and eaten durian for millions of years, it is naturally easier for Southeast Asians today to identify the aromatic chemical molecules among the many strongly individualised ones. Because the chemical composition of the durian smell is so complex, different brains interpret the smell in different ways, with olfactory receptors and genes determining how fragrant or smelly the durian smells.
In fact, not only do people like to eat durian, but many wild animals in Southeast Asia do too, such as the mouse deer, squirrel, elephant, Malayan bear (Helarctos malayanus/sun bear) and even the Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni). The elephant's sense of smell is recognised as one of the most sensitive, with up to 2,000 olfactory genes, while the tiger's sense of smell can detect prey up to 5,000 metres away, and some squirrels can even tell how far away a similar species is from its relatives by its scent.
In summary, those who can smell and taste the sweetness of durian and other wonderful flavours of durian are very lucky and should cherish their hard-won bond with durian LOL

As a Malaysian, myself doesn't like durian too...but my parents and friends love it so much! Also they actually has different flavour depends on the temperature.
In Malaysia we have all sort of food that makes with durian, example like : durian ice cream, durian pizza, durian cake, durian cheese cake, durian eclair, and so on!
