Shirley Anne Field (Joan) was raised in a children's home from the age of 6 yrs. old before becoming a model & actress. She starred in the Kitchen Sink Drama, "Saturday Night & Sunday Morning" (1960) w/Albert Finney, voted by the British Film Institute as the 14th greatest British film of all-time. (I highly recommend this movie). She died in 2023 at the age of 87 yrs old, may she RIP.🌹❤What a beauty.🌺💓
he Damned, also known as These Are the Damned, is a 1962 British science fiction horror film directed by Joseph Losey. The film is based on the novel The Children of Light by H.L. Lawrence and features a compelling mix of science fiction, horror, and social commentary. The screenplay was written by Evan Jones, and it explores themes of nuclear disaster, biological mutation, and the destructive power of science.
The (late) Oliver Reed was very good friends w/"THE WHO" drummer Keith Moon. He was also a good sport after appearing on the "TONIGHT SHOW" when Shelley Winters got up and walked off stage after she felt he'd insulted her. She returned shortly thereafter carrying a drink in her hand which she threw in his face and he graciously took it despite she'd essentially assaulted him. RIP Oliver Reed.🌹❤
Weymouth! I would have been 8 at this time, and holidaying with my family there for 2 weeks. It was a lovely place to go, pity about the state of it now. It brings back memories of my beloved late parents, RIP. xxx
Watching here in Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇸 This January 17th 2025. We have a winter storm coming. This movie is such a good classic. We are to get a ice storm changing to snow plus a Artic dangerous cold weather going to -20 to -27 below -0. Keep safe. We have a fireplace burning 🔥 and its nice and warm.
We are getting the same Arctic blast and ice starting this weekend North Texas in the 30s and teens. That is freezing for us, my friend. Fireplace here will be going for the next few days, too. Keep warm. Never thought I would look forward to 100 degree temps!
I’m in Cairns in far North Queensland, Australia. It’s midnight and I still have the air conditioner set on 18c because of the heat wave we are having. Mother Nature is crazy

It is happening now. Look up the dogs of Chernobyl. There are thousands of dogs that were left behind after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. They are being studied because they have not died, but are thriving and reproducing. The study uncovered that the feral dogs living near the Chernobyl Power Plant showed distinct genetic differences from dogs living only some 10 miles away in nearby Chernobyl City. These dogs have undergone some type of rapid mutation or evolution due to radiation exposure.

Great to see Oliver Reed again... And I recognise the sculptor (05:34 min.) I saw her in Zandalee, a film with with Nicholas Cage and other recognisable actors, I hope I find out her name..
I was 10 when this was filmed and often holidayed in Weymouth with my parents. It was a wonderful place then, as with many places in the uk now it’s hardly recognisable as the beautiful place it was ten 🥲
40 min in and ... nothing, no horror, no good story, no decent acting: some pretty bad acting from the women, absolutely !d!0tic dialogues, no action/plot whatsoever; Just a bunch of disconnected snippets of nothing. Whatever comes in the remaining time, won't matter now: it's all just g@rb@ge

I was also 8 when this very unique film was made. So glad I found it on U-tube.
No wonder Oliver turned to drink after making this 🚬🚬🍺🍺
He was drinking then and before then. 😜
Very good movie, solid storyline, no kitsch happy ending. Impressive.💖👍
The stunning lyrics of Black Leather Rock, rock , rock!😮 😂
😅😅😅😅😅
Catchy ain't it
I know right?! 😂😂😂
They don't make them like they used to. Thank god.
I almost stopped watching the movie having to hear that stupidity....😂
"...and my children will go out and inherit the earth." "What earth, Bernard? What earth will you leave them?" Indeed. What earth will we leave them?

Where was this filmed? Thank you for this. Always in search of supernatural and horror …. Well this is sci-fi..
The film was shot at Hammer's Bray Studios and on location around Weymouth, the Isle of Portland and nearby Chesil Beach.
@@Zihannya Thank you. The scenery is breathtaking, even in B & W.
Thank you, Kan Muffter.🎭
Very watchable, good film
Reminds me of The Midwich Cuckoos by John Wyndham.
Great flick.
Surviving a nuclear exchange? There truly are some idiots who think it’s possible! Best SiFi I’ve seen in a long while. 👍🏽 👍🏽

I always felt they started out making a normal movie about a loutish gang when they suddenly decided half way through to turn it into a sci-fi movie.
I really enjoyed this movie.
Thankyou..
Very enjoyable, scary movie scary because it probably could happen. It goes to show you can’t trust the government.

The town is Weymouth...the channel introduction said it was in an unnamed town. 😊 Joan mentions it when she's on the boat.

@12:12 - If dog in that scene was orchestrated, that was quite a stunt and the timing had to be precise. Impressive.
I watched that scene twice and it looked as if it was added later.
