Sasuke at this point in the story was battling with Naruto for my favorite character in the show boy was cold and ruthless but he still cared about his team and saw Naruto as a worthy challenge to himself. Then Itachi had to come and fuck it all up.
yeah Itachi RUINED Sasuke. Sasuke during the beginning of Naruto was cool! Cold, distant, not the most friendly of people, but he still showed he cared about his teammates especiallt with how he beat the crap out of Zaku for harming Sakura

Fugaku: Ignored him. Obito: Manipulated him. Madara: Skewered him. Mikoto was his moms though so of course she did right by him. Itachi was trying his level best to make Sasuke strong, set him up for success, and make him a hero and it only made him way worse cause the method was deeply fucked up.
