    I know this is a repaint, But I gotta say that this classic Loki is so cool, Because Jack Kirby drew the best villains for the Avengers like Red Skull, Loki, Ultron, Kang the Conqueror, and MODOK, While Jim Sterlin created and drew Thanos. Love your videos MCUcollector24.

    The new face printing looks superb.
    If they gave him magic effects and gesturing hands as well as sculpted scales on his costume then I'd be interested. The 80 Years Cap has a scale mail overlay. Why not Loki?
    I'd really like the Walter Simonson version of Loki with the shoulder pads armoured gauntlets and boots and thigh armour. With maybe a soft goods cape.

    I LOVE how these heads came out!! I think what I'm gonna do is put the Old Man Loki head on the old body, since the green is darker, and put that one with my Disney+ Loki figures, and put the new trickster head on this body for my comic shelf!!

    I love this figure. I really love a comic Loki look and i read Marvel Comics ALL the time. But I hate to admit that I think the ponytail looks awful. I know its his signature look but in this figure, i hate how its rotated to the side and it just makes it look so odd, especially when i want him to do standing poses. I would like it if the ponytail had more articulation. It just looks so bad and so out of place that i Removed it from the figure myself. I think they should re-release this figure without the ponytail. When i removed mine. it looked really really good without the ponytail.

    The only reason why I wanted this new retro loki figure so bad is for those small knives he had to put for the tva loki from the disney plus wave.

    They should've used the digital print on that retro Invisible Woman.

    This figure is really well done with some super clean paint and has some great head sculpts, but I simply can't bring myself to buy these retro repaints and re-releases. Even though I need a comic Loki. The lack of unique sculpting is just killing this line for me.
    It's just not enough for me when they throw on a floating shoulder collar. Everything else on this figure is just a base body and I have a shelf full of these bodies in different colors. Give us some gauntlets, some pauldrons, belts, a cape, a tunic. Something that makes this figure special and standout. I know that Toybiz can't hold a light to modern engineering, but there was undoubtedly something unique about each of those figures that is glaringly absent in modern Legends.

    • @scottroxford5715
      @scottroxford5715 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Krazytoon616 Interesting, I know of some people that constantly complain about modern Legends and their re-use but if the unique sculpting is what bankrupt Toybiz, well..... somebody needs to shut the fuck up.
      I'm kidding, kind of.

    • @Avenging_Archer
      @Avenging_Archer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah those unique things were literally what killed Toy biz. Most retro figures are and always have been just repaints. Can't fathom why people keep complaining, knowing that.

    • @fortressmattimus3984
      @fortressmattimus3984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Avenging_Archer I can only speak for myself, but I complain because my collection doesn't have a Loki figure yet, and this Loki figure isn't good enough for me to buy it.
      I'm a collector, and I want a Loki, so it's frustrating to me that a company will make a new figure that I can't bring myself to buy. I complain because I want to buy figures but the company can't seem to make a good enough figure to warrant a purchase.
      That's why.

    • @Avenging_Archer
      @Avenging_Archer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fortressmattimus3984 So buy a ToyBiz. If you're a collector you should know the process that companies go through to get even one of these figures out. I'm glad we even got one because comic Loki isn't necessarily that popular because the MCU version is quite different.
      What would this figure need to meet your demands? Sculpted scales? A new body? How would Hasbro justify spending that amount of money on a figure of a character like comic Loki when they probably wouldn't be able to re-use those scales.

    • @fortressmattimus3984
      @fortressmattimus3984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Avenging_Archer I have some Toybiz. However, they aren't in the business of making figures anymore so it doesn't do any good to comment on their performance at this point.
      But Hasbro is. So I will continue to provide feedback for as long as I give them money. I want more of the good and less of the bad. So I praise what I like and I critique what I don't like.
      I don't know why people are so sensitive and get so upset when we point out when Hasbro misses the mark, which this figure does. There is nothing interesting about him. From the neck down, there is nothing unique about him and he's sculpted identically to so many other releases. There's no texture. I don't expect them to sculpt 100% new with every release, but yeah, maybe they could have done a new torso or added gloves or boots sculpted on the forearms or calves. They're a multibillion dollar company, surely they could figure out how to work in some new sculpts occasionally so that we aren't constantly getting the same 4 sculpted comic releases.
      Telling me to buy a Toybiz doesn't solve the issue that this is a bland figure. It's not our job to figure out how Hasbro can fix releases like this. That's their job and they failed. Because if they did a better job and made a better figure, then I would have a satisfactory Loki in my collection and I would be a happy customer, but I don't and I'm not. You don't need to defend them. They're doing just fine.

    Hasbro's effort in giving us a really good Loki figure is not yet at 100%. I will wait for probably 2 or 3 more re-release after this re-release.

    The LEGO Prince of Persia/Ninjago Daggers work very well with Loki, i have mine with the Sword and one of the Daggers, looks near perfekt, think even better than the Drax Daggers.

    This review sold me on this figure. I wasn't a big fan of the older figure because the Loki head just looked so derpy and bad on that body.
    I thought this figure would be the same, but making the head sit lower on the peg actually improves the silouette a TON and the new head sculpts are a significant improvement. Plus the colors just look fantastic next to classic Thor.
    So yeah, I was gonna skip this guy, but I think I'll be picking this up.

    The Grim Reaper shoulders on both Loki figures are flipped. Was hoping they would be fixed for this release. It's odd that they made this mistake because Rock Python was in the same wave as the previous Loki and used the same buck but didn't have this problem. Noticed this error on Rictor too.

    I'mma be honest, kind of like the older one more, new one just looks really cheap especially in that line up comparing the other figures.
    Am looking forward to that Lady Loki however.
