      Even Blender cannot bake using GPU .. This is fast indeed!

    Why do I not see the option for A-Trous in 2019.4.2f1 using URP? I have a GTX 1070?

    guys how do you get specular on dielectrics if you bake?

    Unity stuck at "Preparing Bake", how to fix it ? Why it occurs?

      @@jennifern2590 I really like it, interesting, and tried to apply your lecture on my games but dang my computer is crap can not complete baking for hours and hours... Then finally I removed my baked data and I let my game running with realtime lightings.

    I hate trying to bake only to be limited to 1024 textures on the gpu, anything higher auto switches to cpu and fries it :( annoying

    • @idk2708
      @idk2708 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that's so annoying

    • @mickyr171
      @mickyr171 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idk2708 ever found a work around? Thinking of baking in blender but seems painful as you'd have to bake everything if you moved an object, where as unity would mean just clicking one button

    • @mickyr171
      @mickyr171 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idk2708 was also thinking of maybe using a virtual machine and limiting that to say 60% cpu usage, seeings unity doesn't seem to have a cpu limiting option, would take longer to bake but would save the cpu from cooking 😂

    • @idk2708
      @idk2708 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mickyr171 yeah but there's no shadeless albedo only shaders in unity i think you have to code or something. There is an asset "bakery" in the assets store everyone is amazed but it dosn't work for me there's a lot of bugs.
      Will just use the unity cpu lightmapper I think it isn't that bad and it's easy to use

    Does lightmap data " file size" decrease if we scale the object down ? eg. level length of length 500x500 to 50 x50

    • @eigenlaut
      @eigenlaut 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      no - you generate your lightmap at a fixed texture resolution

    • @jixal
      @jixal 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it doesn't work like that but you can change your lightmap scale per object though.

    • @jennifern2590
      @jennifern2590 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lightmap size is a max. They can be smaller, and if objects don't fit, a new lightmap will be created. Is that what you meant?

    next times please explain the charts more and define it more precisely. Because very often the rows and columns do not have uniform correlations or it felt like charts aren't the right choice to precisely define the issues. maybe she wasn't aware of it as the presenter

    • @jennifern2590
      @jennifern2590 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I don't work at Untiy anymore, but what exactly is the issue? The packing we had back then had a ton of issues and it was something we were working on. Not sure about the state of it now. I hope your question got an answer tho :)
