    This is the best video on the topic I've seen. I appreciate the time and effort you took to explain things properly. You are very good. Thank you.

    Wow, this is so helpful! I just recently traded with someone over Reddit and I wish I saw this video first. My packing wasn't too bad but I didn't check to see if it (the plant) moved around after packing it up. I also didn't wrap the leaves. Whoops lol

    Thank you so much for making this video! This is my first time shipping plants - normally I meet in-person with the people in my area - but I am going to offer shipping to my buyers this time since this upcoming sale for me is a fundraiser for EKY flood relief. I want reach and be available to as many people as possible, so shipping is a must. Thank you again for the information!

    I love that you use recycled material. It’s such a simple thing, but if someone is shipping lots of plants, the newly purchased materials can be overwhelming

    Hi there. Thank you for this information. Would you have any info for how you would ship a flat of plant plugs? I was thinking they may need insulation if I’m shipping them in the heat of summer. I would greatly appreciate thoughts on this. Thank you!

    So how do you go about measuring the boxes weight, Length, height and width? Isn’t that necessary? Or do you just use the measurements on the priority male box and measure it yourself

    Hey, thanks for sharing this. Don’t you leave air holes in the boxes? Doesn’t it need light or air in transit? How long can plants go fine with this method?

    • @TatesPlants
      @TatesPlants  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope surprisingly they’re totally fine with no light or airflow during transit! Plants can last up to 7 days I would say in a box and be able to survive after arrival. On average it takes 4 days for plants to arrive and they do totally fine.

    • @stylenv9282

      @@TatesPlants I am about to send plants to a place that has high humidity. So was not sure if to leave air holes or not. Can you suggest, please? The plants I am shipping are succulent, fern, Episcia and oxalis volcanic.
      Also, should I send any of these bare rooted?

    Actually, I have understood the USPS to be NOT a government run agency. Also, they now use contractors to deliver mail and equip them poorly. Hardly anything used to ever be loss in our mail but now it is 50 50. I get other people's mail all the time, that should have been delivered to entirely different zip codes (great tec sorters) as well as mail that belonged to neighbors in the same building. Yes, there is a place from where all the hating is coming from. In regards to safe and fair elections, ballots have been found dumped by the usps. But I am glad to know you support safe and fair elections. So far haven't had a knife put to my throat on election day. We're not quite there yt.

    Loved your video.. quick question.. how wet do you leave the plants.. not sure if I missed it in your video?

    • @TatesPlants
      @TatesPlants  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Sorry i don’t think I mentioned it! I try to time the watering so that, depending on the watering needs, it has been at least a week since it’s been watered. So the soil is as dry and light as possible to save money on weight, but not harming the plant because it’s too dry.

    Hi I just purchased a house plant here in Oahu whille we’re on Vacation. So the he instructed me to remove the soil from the plant so it can be shipped separately from the soil to make room in the box. Is this another option for shipping plants? I’m so afraid that it’s going to arrive dead and wilted. Will you let me know please and also I would like some info on how I can buy plants from you

    Very new to shipping plants so this video was very useful! How do you go about printing shipping labels? 🤗💚

    • @seaglass8940
      @seaglass8940 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The USPS website lets you purchase the labels/postage online and then you just hit print and it prints on regular copy paper! (There's a place on the website where it asks you for your address, the buyer's name & address,etc.) Then you just trim it and glue or tape it on.

    • @TatesPlants
      @TatesPlants  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally just print their address and mine, then take it to the post office to be processed and paid for. I'm looking into using a shipping label company that allows me to pay for it ahead of time so I can just drop them off at the post office!
