- Sydnie's performance at The Royal Variety Performance before the King. Her song Believer was on her album My Way. It was a song for the young singer who needed to be reinforced to help her continue to sing because she had gotten so many rejections. I don't know who rejected her, but they must be sitting next to the person that told Elvis he needed to quit trying to sing and keep truck driving. Sydnie looked beautiful in her gown and there was no sign of nerves. Just a fantastic singer with a wide vocal range, emotion , passion, intensity, and power. stood before the audience and gave them an earful of a great song. The reception from the audience was really good.

Sydnie never disappoints. She’s been criticized for performing this song at the Royal Variety Show, but I believe it was the perfect selection for her to sing before the King as a tribute to his mother, the Queen, who along with Bond parachuted out of the plane and made that spectacular arrival at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. The King loved her performance as did the audience. Your review was perfect. She looked stunning. Her vocals were off the charts. It’s a very difficult song to sing and she nailed it. Thanks for the reaction.
I always think of her singing in that Bond sequence which is good. It's out on You tube I saw it
Yes, have to agree with everything. Not my choice from the album, but probably the ideal for the Royal Variety. Such a shame that seeing as Starlight Express was featured, and Lord Webber was in attendance, Syd wasn't given the opportunity for a second bite of the cherry performing the headline song. i can think of several "performances" that night that could have been readily cut out to make way for real talent!!

@@Carolereacts people were mostly criticizing the entire variety show. Said it was the worst hosting they’d ever seen. For the most part, they thought that the variety show should have cut some shows and let Sydnie sing Starlight Express since the cast from Starlight were in the show.
