Really her story is more similar to Corrin. A princess whose country falls under the influence of a dark dragon and then she has to decide between sticking with it knowing that while her sibling loves her, her father sees her as a disposable pawn, or converting to another country where she's loved and accepted but will have to come to blows with the people she cares about most...
For people confused why Ivy’s introduction cutscene makes her seem so different from her actual personality, just remember Ivy straight up says “I speak for the Elusian throne” before saying those threats. She is speaking on behalf of her father. Given how Ivy puts her role as crown princess seriously despite her own beliefs it makes sense. It’s perfectly in line with her character putting on a facade to seem put together and in control

They're both beautiful princesses of grim nations, have corrupt fathers, have purple hair, ride wyverns, can use magic, have effervescent step-sisters, adore the main avatar character (though in Ivy's case it's more out of religious worship), and they have even have similar join times (Camilla in Ch 10, Ivy Ch 11). Personality wise they're worlds apart, but it's not hard to draw similarities.

Honestly, you can hear it from her. The awkwardness is so perfect and controlled. Singing with that control is so hard to do and she nails it perfectly. Ivy might have one of my favorite voices in all of FE.

Fates for the most part aready has questionable character writing but she somehow turns it up to 11 Literally the fanbase writes her better than the writers. Camilla's mother used her as a political pawn and most of None hated them both as a result (henceforth the assassination attempt on Camilla). Camilla finds out that Corrin was kidnapped and makes it her personal mission to make sure she's always there to be Corrin's family because she herself knows what it's like to be nothing more than a pawn to king who couldn't care less if his people lived or died. Birthright (spoilers): Camilla is then forced against her will to fight Corrin who, after all that's happened, has decided to betray Nohr. Camilla has to watch her family be torn apart by a conflict none of them wanted in the first place. If she does not comply, she will be executed. Camilla wants to join Corrin the moment she's told the truth, but Leo shows up and stops her before she can do anything. Xander kills Elise, then makes Corrin kill him. Camilla has to live with that. Camilla's father turns into a monster that needs to be killed and is handled accordingly. Camilla makes her only remaining blood relative, Leo, take the throne upon the end of the war against Hoshido and Nohr. The issue is that Fire Emblem Fates doesn't delve very deep into the politics of Hoshido and Nohr in favor of making everything center around Corrin. That being said, Camilla definitely goes through very similar of not worse things than Ivy.
I love Ivy way more than Camilla, but this statement is definitely wrong. Camilla definitely had to go through a lot in her life, that's why she's so overtly doting to Corrin. Even though most would just shrug it off as Corrin meatriding, Camilla had to go through a period in her life that was similar to Ivy, where the royal ladies were all involved in scandals in the court due to positions of power, marriage definitions, etc.
It's kinda funny. Chapter 8 introduces her as a dangerous force who will tear through armies to achieve her father's goals, but then come Chapter 11 and the support convos, and you learn that her first appearance was just her putting up an act and she really is just a less depressed Marianne

I know she has elements of Camilla or whatever character you compare Ivy to... but... She seems to give more Shade vibes to me... as in the FE: Cipher OC who became playable in Echoes. Magic wielders with Goth vibes due to the way they dress.

Ivy being Camilla never crossed my mind at all, and I don't see it at all. I just see Ivy as someone who looks calm, but is fragile on the inside. That feels a lot like me irl
I do see the similarities between them (similar attire, similar positions, similar backstories and similar personalities *when directed towards the MU*). But their personalities outside of that couldn't be more divided. Camilla is definitely more mentally unstable, prone to violent temperaments, is unusually fearless and daunting, and borders a calm facade to mask her desire to keep Corrin, and to a lesser extent her family, safe from all harm. Ivy is generally more compassionate, but very shielded. She tends to only open up so much to anyone and has trouble expressing weakness to anyone (which, given her station, backstory, and the nation she serves, is understandable). They might seem similar in some situations, but they both grew in completely different ways from each other despite sharing similar backstories.
Just wanna go ahead and call myself out here as someone who definitely believed this take until I played Engage for myself last week. I was hilariously wrong.

Ivy being Camilla never crossed my mind at all, and I don't see it at all. I just see Ivy as someone who looks calm, but is fragile on the inside. That feels a lot like me irl
I do see the similarities between them (similar attire, similar positions, similar backstories and similar personalities *when directed towards the MU*).
But their personalities outside of that couldn't be more divided.
Camilla is definitely more mentally unstable, prone to violent temperaments, is unusually fearless and daunting, and borders a calm facade to mask her desire to keep Corrin, and to a lesser extent her family, safe from all harm.
Ivy is generally more compassionate, but very shielded. She tends to only open up so much to anyone and has trouble expressing weakness to anyone (which, given her station, backstory, and the nation she serves, is understandable).
They might seem similar in some situations, but they both grew in completely different ways from each other despite sharing similar backstories.
Just wanna go ahead and call myself out here as someone who definitely believed this take until I played Engage for myself last week. I was hilariously wrong.
Also honestly I feel like timerra is too peppy lol she could exhaust anyone even Alfred and Etie xD

The fact that she's afraid of ghost, if people used logic in the game they could easily defeat her in battle by simply yelling "Ivy there's a ghost behind you" and boom defeated, also I guess I was confused with the title I don't know if it was bait for views but Ivy and Camilla are literally day and night, Ivy shows no signs of over affection to a point of being psychotic or being blood thirsty
