centaura is such a good game, mainly for the reason that you aren't important. you are just a cog in the murder machine that is war, with only one saying: "only the dead have seen the end of war." it has such a deep message, it makes you feel like you're actually participating in a war against 2 countries. the death counter at the end of every mission really makes you reflect on what just happened, because those massive death tolls are real things. thousands and even millions are killed in war and this game represents that perfectly with how easy it is to get mowed down, burnt alive, or just plain stabbed to death. because that's how it happens, you could be alive and the next second you aren't.
Another thing that I really like is how realistic it is when it comes to squad sized battles, there are few troops that are the most combat effective while others are less so, taking cover and such.
All of this, and the environment, thousands of gunshots, endless artillery volleys, men screaming. Seeing fellow soldiers turn into fine colored rain the moment an artillery shell hits. One instantly dies as a punishment for peeking too much. Epic Advancements with men screaming right after the officer blows their whistle. There has been NO game that made me feel like im in a real war, made me feel like a hopeless traumatized soldier in the midst of a hell
There was a cool detail about this I didn't realize. When Raph was staring into nothing.....I realized the way he was looking. kind of looked familiar. (Raph was getting shell shock)
This hit me in the gut a little bit, as I am just about done with my OSUT training for the US Army. Never thought I would be able to do it, but I am here and I know what I got myself into. I am a 12b and am well aware if the US were to ever get into war, I'm going to most likely be one of the first to die, whether it's in a combat gunfight or mishap explosives. I have tremendous respect for the soldiers that have fallen for this country and hope to be able to do even perform a fraction of the heroism they showed. Always place the mission first, never accept defeat, never quit, never leave a fallen comrade. Love your family and make it obvious. Have fun and enjoy life, no matter the circumstances you're in. And remember, this may be a produced work of art, but it is all too real. God bless you all.
Isn’t 12B combat engineers, don’t engineers build fortifications and do maintenance and whatnot? (This is a genuine question as I don’t know much about the army.)
Yes, you are right, it is combat engineer. And yes, we can and will do that, as that is part of our job. But, the thing is, we usually do that in a combat zone, sometimes even while combat might be happening. So by default, we're probably going to be in combat and in danger often. Not only that, but 12b is tasked with the job of "clearing the way". Say there's some c-wire (pretty sharp and just bad if yknow what I mean) and it's blocking a path. We would be tasked with disposing of that c-wire, whether it's stealthily cutting it, or blowing it the hell up with a bangalore. Usually, we're also tasked with clearing minefields so other can pass through. Not everyone does or will do that part, but it is something someone WILL have to do, and that makes it very dangerous. I also do believe my drill sergeants told us that our lifespan in combat (at least as the one who clears everything first) is less than 30 seconds, which is a pretty low. I didn't know a lot of this stuff before I went in. These are all things I learnt with my OSUT training. The internet really doesn't give you the whole story or complete job of some MOS's, so I understand the question and I hope this helped out at least a little. I also haven't even been in that long, so keep that in mind.
@@ashtonplatt6602 Just think about how war has barely changed, back in WW1 in the early skirmishes french engineers may have had the job of cutting barbed wire to pave the way for the rest of the forces, the weapons may be different, but the strategies almost never change.
never have I ever seen such a beautifully produced video about the horrors of war and the reality of being in one in a goddamn roblox game. (not really but it feels like it) this feels like a movie, even though it’s just 11 minutes, it establishes a full story within just that time. sometimes I can’t even tell if there’s a script or not, it all feels so real like they’re actual people talking, and man it’s fucking phenomenal. now this is what I subscribed for, THIS right here. good job ratskewer
Can we just start calling this guy Ratstopher Skewielberg just because of his amazingly coordinated improvisation, amazing production quality, great boys of his crew born straight-outta-theatre-school Hospital and very detailed and realistic writing?
This perfectly highlights the ups and downs of a man in this era fighting in a war. It perfectly highlights the horrors of war as well. None of the script sounds forced at all, it sounds so natural like they're actually experiencing it. But in the end it's true; there is no winners in war, everybody loses somehow. Absolutely meticulously crafted by ratskewer, god bless.
You are the ideal film maker, rat. This is insane. Your acting and story telling really makes these games enjoyable to watch, and honestly, I've went to try some of them out because of your videos. Your channel deserves so many more subs, its infuriating. Get this man more recognition.
waiting for ratskewer to get a job as a directer. Also, the final scene with the mother crying with the shot of the coffee still on the table, having "gone cold" now, really hit, amazing stuff
It is not often that I praise a work like this but I have to say that you have done a fantastic job with this video. What I found very touching is how accurate the demise of each member was, the deaths were sudden, no over-dramatization, thus, it was powerful. The effect on me was way more lasting than it would have been otherwise. The poor kid wanting to return home back to his mother only to be shot was VERY profound.
I should scream because of how well done this is, rat! I love the shell of the role you've made for yourself. You are a man who's never stopped thinking. I expect this to skyrocket because, oh my gosh? Every next word breaks me, and I am all fond of it
Holy moly, this isn’t your regular short film, with the protagonists coming out victorious, this feels so real, and it perfectly shows the horrors of war. Ratskewer is an absolute gem on youtube
Centaura brought the environment, and Ratskewer used it to make it alive. With energy, tension and grit. And then as quick as it came, it ended. James, Simon, Caleb, Raphael. Their deaths weren’t poetic and drawn-out, they were filled with terror and sudden. Maybe that was the best fate for them, rather than living in eternal suffering from the loss of their fellow soldiers. Requiesce in pace.
Oh my gosh, this is probably one of the best shorts I've seen on roblox! I've been looking for a World War I video in roblox for a long time and I found it! Everything is great here. Well-written dialogues, an understandable plot with a beginning and an end, sound effects, musical accompaniment. All this wonderful conveys all the horror and despair of that time. I was most impressed by the finale itself, namely the death of all the heroes. Each of them is a separate person with their own characters and appearance, united by one thing - the war. Throughout the short film, all the horrors of war and the fact that there is nothing romantic about it are shown. I am very impressed with your work and I give you ratskewer and your whole team a lot of respect for all this work! Hope to see more content like this from you, all the best
im tearing up. the short form storyline is so well put together that by the end i already knew all the characters, i knew what they were going through, i knew they wanted to go home. keep going man this is great.

this is just amazing. the way rat captured the horror and brutality of war is so good, especially with the ending. it actually broke me, and that soldier wanting to go home and see his mom is just, it sounded so real it sends chills down my spine. fantastic work rat, you've outdone yourself with this one. its one hell of an adventure
I remember my great-grandpa telling me stories of that war, describing how horrifying it was when he was in the Blackton mines. He said that sometimes at night, he would wake up hearing screams out of nowhere, even though no one was there. He told me one story about being at Capri Valley, where he saw all his friends in his battalion turn to ash from a large fireball in one instant. I still remember his quote from one of his stories: "If I had to change one thing in my life, I would never sign up for the military."
I just gotta say I love this so much man, everything went cold. The body temperature, the coffee and just how everything went south in a 20 second span
Holy shit. This was amazing. Ever since I first subscribed, I’ve been getting nothing but videos that could rival those made in Hollywood. This has single-handedly made the internet feel entertaining again. Thank you once again ratskewer.
Unironically, beautiful, some of the scenes gave me actual anti-war film vibes, and the ending made me genuinely sad and a little teary. This is something I’ve never seen done in Roblox, and especially not this well constructed. I want to write more but am at a loss for words. Thank you for bestowing this upon us.
Ratskewer has a lot of potential to be one of the most popular Roblox content creators. And his incredible videos will eventually get him that title. Been here since 20k, don’t give up.
You know whats even sadder?, in the games lore their country (Cetus) lost the war and became a colony for an Empire (Antares) , so they all died for nothing, even their enemy (Corvus) ended being turned into a colony as well.
i.. dont have the words to tell you how I feel. there is nothing like this in the roblox community and you inspire with a simple video about a recreation. thank you for the laughs and for the genuine passion that you have for this
Rat really wakes up every day and says: "How about I make an absolute FUCKING MASTERPIECE without fail, or change in quality, and with top notch editing."
Rats this is a really question now, what's up with all this cinematic expertises? You are doing it so god damn well, it's overwhelming the ambient that you make in every video, giving it a deserve seriousness when it's need it. Don't know what else to say, but that your are underrated, but at the same time doing so greatful videos every single time. You deserve so much in the page. And I know you know it too.
I really didn’t expect for them all to die. I guess this just shows the horrors of war, I at least hoped for Raphael to live, damn. Amazing work, though.
Illutrates the horrors of war as I imagine it would be, sends a message past goofy roblox graphics, and obviously has effort put into it, I hope this becomes a classic of the roblox community.
"War isn't hell. War is war, and Hell is hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse." - Captain B.F. Peirce Absolutely beautiful acting, writing, and cinematography from everyone involved. Great job on this, man.
Man the editing in this video is unbelievable. Really puts you in the perspective of the soldier. I would never expect this level of cinematography and storytelling from a roblox gameplay.
Truly incredible voice acting here, you got some really nice people working on this. I would love an opportunity to voice act like this honestly, it seems like so much fun.
It was perfect, speechs, acting, scenes. It gives an idea of what soldier of WWII went through…The fact that all the protagonists died is well scripted because it helps to reminds us that many of the soldiers that went fighting didn’t come back home.
I got attached to them characters so much that I cried a little at the end. You and your VAs' skills were very impressive. I can see how much effort was put into this.
Oh my goodness dude, the voice acting is absolutely incredible. A video about a Roblox game should not be this cinematic but this mf pulled it off. The realistic and terrifying aspects to this are perfect. Good stuff skewer :D
The part where he cursed in Czech hit me, my mom’s Czech, I love the language and want to learn. Growing up I was always spoke to in czech, I could understand yet not put it into words if that makes sense. Hearing that made me imagine my loved ones out there, maybe even me, speaking in a language that always brought comfort to us in our last moments.
That ending was just perfect. there was no heroic sacrifice, the deaths were sudden and out of nowhere. It really shows how there is no victor in war. Only chaos. Only the dead see the end of war.
how the fuck can someone make such a cinematic MASTERPIECE.. Ratskewer, Out of all the youtubers i've watched of my 8 years of being on roblox i've never came across such amazing roblox youtuber like you. This is pure art and i look forward to seeing more. EVERY Video you have done is literal art like this is insane 💯 You'll make it far.
This, this right here i cant even put into words how good it is. I was so on edge and as a czech, hearing my native language suprised me alot. This is better than alot of films i have seen this year. Good job ratskewer.
dude this is amazing its like ive just watch an episode of a full blown show!! Its like i could feel the emotions of the soliders, and how they tried to pull through even when it was tough. the ending was pretty sad aswell. Like always awesome video hope u get to 100k soon, and even more! You deserve 10x more subscribers then you have. 😅
i honestly thought this would be like a commentary video or something, didnt expect the most beautiful youtube video lmfaoo (also the vy hajzlové was a fine addition)
How did ratskewer manage to make an all quiet on the western front type of story all within a roblox shooter, actively making interesting characters and continues to portray the horrors of war. bro i thought i was subscribed to a roblox gaming channel why did i almost cry
i thought this was going to be one of those 'funny' youtubers playing centaura, but no i am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this. it genuinely feels like an actual movie, if i may ask, i'm assuming you used other games, are they public?
Got me to tears at the end, that mother crying was haunting. I could feel the pain loosing both boys. War is really hell that no man should step foot. Great filmmaking rat, I was so into it like I just watched a movie!
This was actually phenomenal. I’ve been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now and it just so happened that this ended up playing by accident. I already thought that you’d make a great writer before watching this but this video truly cements that idea. Everyone, EVERYONE made this narrative absolutely beautiful and gut-wrenching and I found myself intrigued from the very start. I’m glad to say I subscribed and I truly cannot wait to watch more content like this from you. Absolutely amazing.
Wow, that actually moved me to tears. This is a really well made video. Felt like a movie. Really drove the point of the horrors of war. I think we often need that reminder.
This, this is what true war is. This video encapsulates what it really was, and i thank you for that. 10/10, the effort is everything and the quality is top-notch. keep creating, man.
i know its a game but watching this made me feel like i was really in combat and was in the pov of ratskewer 10/10 cinematography also on that note then ending actually made me cry this is what i think is the best video you have made

Rat’s videos are usually peak but this one ascended even further beyond that it was fucking insane and the produced with such quality I’m actually just bamboozled
This video is way too emotional, bro why is the voice acting so damn good. Already got me hooked on the first few seconds because of how nice the atmosphere was set. Especially the ending, god she really killed the voice acting, a mother losing her two sons...god...
When i was playing as a corvus soldier i discovered sandra for the first time. I wanted to protect her but my teammates didnt. I feel bad for her and i wish there was a way to save her. Truly a good game
holy shit bro no one told me they were doing all quiet on the western front 2 in roblox🔥🔥🔥🔥 i wasn't wrong in my last comments 🙏 for real though this was really good, the sound design, the acting, the voice acting all overboarding with talent which is weird that it came from the same dude that recorded "MIC UP at 3AM" (which to be completely fair is also a masterpiece) just keep doing what you're doing and we'll be seeing the next christopher nolan (roblox edition)

centaura is such a good game, mainly for the reason that you aren't important. you are just a cog in the murder machine that is war, with only one saying: "only the dead have seen the end of war."
it has such a deep message, it makes you feel like you're actually participating in a war against 2 countries. the death counter at the end of every mission really makes you reflect on what just happened, because those massive death tolls are real things. thousands and even millions are killed in war and this game represents that perfectly with how easy it is to get mowed down, burnt alive, or just plain stabbed to death. because that's how it happens, you could be alive and the next second you aren't.

Bro this is all quiet on the western front levels of cinematic. The voice acting, visual and sound effect and all that are just absolutely phenomenal.
Holy moly, ratskewer can turn anything to a high quality film. It felt like I was watching an actual movie
Oh my goodness dude, the voice acting is absolutely incredible. A video about a Roblox game should not be this cinematic but this mf pulled it off. The realistic and terrifying aspects to this are perfect. Good stuff skewer :D
You story writing goober.
I am amazed at how rat can make stories better then most 1h-2h short films in only 10 minutes
That ending was just perfect. there was no heroic sacrifice, the deaths were sudden and out of nowhere. It really shows how there is no victor in war. Only chaos. Only the dead see the end of war.
No doubt that this creator will gain a million subs in a few months. It is already an honor to witness these early videos.
how the fuck can someone make such a cinematic MASTERPIECE.. Ratskewer, Out of all the youtubers i've watched of my 8 years of being on roblox i've never came across such amazing roblox youtuber like you. This is pure art and i look forward to seeing more. EVERY Video you have done is literal art like this is insane 💯
You'll make it far.
How did ratskewer manage to make an all quiet on the western front type of story all within a roblox shooter, actively making interesting characters and continues to portray the horrors of war. bro i thought i was subscribed to a roblox gaming channel why did i almost cry
never have I ever thought a fucking Roblox movie would make me cry
i thought this was going to be one of those 'funny' youtubers playing centaura, but no i am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this. it genuinely feels like an actual movie, if i may ask, i'm assuming you used other games, are they public?
"Soldiers aren't numbers they're fathers, husbands, sons and brothers".
Absolutely amazing.
what a beautiful and meaningful piece put together, I've never been so proud to watch this channel grow everyday
I got so many "saving private ryan" and "all quiet on the western front" vibes from this.
fucking beautiful man I feel like people don’t realize how much effort you put into these videos.
love you rarskur
Only the dead have seen the end of war.
Wow, that actually moved me to tears. This is a really well made video. Felt like a movie.
Really drove the point of the horrors of war. I think we often need that reminder.
“Help Help! I don’t wanna die” THAT GIVES ME CHILLS
Damn, that voice acting... you make me cry over the roblox story 😭
The thought put into this is insane, the composition, acting.
You know your stuff rat
:P
This, this is what true war is. This video encapsulates what it really was, and i thank you for that. 10/10, the effort is everything and the quality is top-notch. keep creating, man.
THE BEST short film I've seen done inside of a video game. It really shows the damage and cost of war.
8:26 okay that was actually some good czech, and good video too! keep it up
i know its a game but watching this made me feel like i was really in combat and was in the pov of ratskewer 10/10 cinematography also on that note then ending actually made me cry this is what i think is the best video you have made
this is.. an amazing project that i thought was just gonna be gameplay, not a short movie film
Pretty brilliant. Especially the end, when instead of showing the mothers face and sorrow, you own over the now empty and eerie house.
Never thought I’d see the day where I’d be getting a little emotional over something made in ROBLOX of all things. Seriously fantastic work.
Holy shit, good work man! LightBorne493 already said what i think about the end perfectly so i have nothing to say apart from well done rat!
Despite this being a roblox video, this is a perfect representation of the horrors of war. Its a perfect showing of how war is horrific.
The end when Tiffany cried literally sent shivers down my spine this is some true good acting
HOLLYYY SHITTTT EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS SPLENDIDLY SCRUMPTIOUS!! Also amazing job to all the voice actors!!
Bro you have one of the best voice my ears have ever heard, you definitely have a very high chance of making it.
Wow I expected like a funny gameplay but this…this was amazing great story, great acting, great telling, it proves how serious war is.
I have been amazed by this. And now I shall subscribe for more amazing content like this.
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL BUT SCARY AND SAD
Also the "HELP I DONT WANNA DIE"In the Blackton mines made me almost cry.
i love it man and the whole thing fit perfectly together this felt like a move
Rat’s videos are usually peak but this one ascended even further beyond that it was fucking insane and the produced with such quality I’m actually just bamboozled
Pieced this centaura lore together perfectly. Good thing you didn’t go to the Antarean front
this is pure cinema, dude. that ending really did it all for me. glad i found this channel.
this is actually kinda cool bro, you really outdid yourself. please don't stop making content you're awesome!
“Only the death have seen the end of the war” this video is a visual representation of that quote. Good job man.
Again, id pay for a full length ratskewer movie.
holy shit bro no one told me they were doing all quiet on the western front 2 in roblox🔥🔥🔥🔥
i wasn't wrong in my last comments 🙏 for real though this was really good, the sound design, the acting, the voice acting all overboarding with talent which is weird that it came from the same dude that recorded "MIC UP at 3AM" (which to be completely fair is also a masterpiece) just keep doing what you're doing and we'll be seeing the next christopher nolan (roblox edition)
