Jani was arguably the best songwriter and vocalist of all the 80’s and 90’s glam / hair metal bands. Up til he died he still had his voice and all of the hit songs he wrote. Gone too soon.
I saw him solo in 99 or 2000 and his face was beet red, could tell he was drunk off his ass but still put on an amazing show, never would’ve known he was trashed if you didn’t know the signs, a great we lost too soon
I really do believe he was the best songwriter and composer in that era. He not only wrote the songs he arranged the whole song. Songs like I Saw Red and Uncle Tom’s Cabin come to mind as being pure genius! Then you throw in The Hole In My Wall and it’s next level writing! Gone too soon!
this is such a nice timecapsule. at a time when warrant couldn't be less popular, a gig like this comes where the entire crowd was in the palm of his hand. these gigs were great for jani, and made all the bad go away.

It is strange Rick's Steyr could not sound "normally", the guitar was always or to loud and rough or to quiet and smoothen... I suppose he used Epiphone instead of Telecaster... This plugged acoustics vid needs its mastering... ;)
I use to catch all their local shows before they were signed and saw them as many times as I could after they blew up ....He had so many good songs it didn’t matter🔥
I seen Warrant in '98 & '99 I remember they did the same thing both times. I think maybe they grew to resent their ballad songs same way Jani did with Cherry Pie. It was very disappointing. Like many of her s fans I was there to hear my favorite songs. Sad that chance to hear them again is gone.
It's such a shame that Jamie Lane had to kill himself with alcohol. He was actually a great songwriter and an amazing vocalist. It always hurts my heart to know that people like him leave the world. Without knowing the Lord without knowing Jesus is their savior. God gives everybody the talents that they have. Will they use them for good or bad. That's what you choose to do with them. I hope before you took his last breath that he cried out to Jesus and ask him to come i into his heart and forgive him of his sins. It's sad to die as a young person or an old person. It's even sadder when you leave this life. Without knowing the Lord. Leave me everybody when you're absent from this body. That's when real life begins. Whether it's forever and have it with the Lord. Or forever an hour darkness and your soul is tortured forever. He had to tortured soul what he was here that's why he drank. I hope he's not going to have to live through eternity that way.
