We are being treated to some very special matches in this event. It's a great time to be a fan of darts.
Especially this Clayton finish
4 men left standing now. We all knew this years Matchplay was anyones to win after the big 3 favourites were knocked out early and honestly for not having any of the top 4 in the semis, the lineup still looks really good. Cullen v Aspinall should be a very good game and its hard to call a winner. Clayton v Humphries also should be a good game and based on todays performances, u gotta say Jonny is looking a million dollars. That first match v Searle is the match of the tournament so far and the level was just scintillating. After 10 legs they fist bumped and hugged thats how good it was. In this long format, its not easy to keep performing at that level and Ryan dropped off just a little bit from leg 16 to leg 20ish which would be considered quite normal in this format but Jonny never dropped his level and he took full advantage of that little lull from Ryan. He was just more consistent in the end but Ryan played his part in a brilliant match and overall played really well himself. The finishing and particularly the ton+ outs from Jonny were ridiculous, there were half a dozen of them from 16 legs won. I think i heard on commentary that Jonny has had 8 checkouts on the Bull in this tournament and hes nailed the Bull on 7 of them, thats crazy good. In the second semi, it was close to start off with just like the first game but it was very bizarre, no one could hold their throw and it was just breaks upon breaks. Out of the 29 legs played, there was only 9 holds of throw. I dont think ive seen that before in a longer format. As soon as Luke held to make it 12-8 it felt like the game was his to lose and at 15-9 i think we all thought its over and all of a sudden, Heta wakes up and wins mulitple legs on the bounce and that spectacular 152 with Luke on 56 and then had he even had darts to be just one leg behind Luke but missed and then in an instant, its all over. Luke with that 92 finish with the double double 18 to end it was just fantastic. Honestly that was so clutch in that situation with Heta coming back and putting more and more pressure. Darts is the best game, i cant think of any sport more competitive than what we r seeing now in the PDC with literally anyone able to beat anyone. I cant wait for the semis tomorrow and lets hope for 2 absolute crackers.

Jonny's definitely the favourite now. Aspinall and Cullen looks the pick of the semi finals. I'd edge Asp over Cullen but they're both in quality form.
Those were some thrilling quarter-finals with Clayton playing at a decent level and Humphries playing good enough to get through the semis, though I’ve got to admit that 152 from Heta was one of the highlights of the evening and an important match saving shot!

What a great pair of matches and all credit to the loosers they were brilliant took their defeats as one should, not the mardiness of some players, Heta has really improved his game play and attitude well done him

Guys, is it really that hard not to put celebrating players in the Thumbnail? The second match was completely ruined because you immediately know the winner clicking the video, it is really a shame.

@@skullturtle180How hard is it to put a neutral thumbnail of them shaking hands before the match or something? A lot of people are working nights and can't watch it live.
You can't really know if it's the winner or just a cheeky photo, as PDC regularly puts both winners and losers on their thumbnails. People complain either way, but in fact you can never know what happens in the match, you just complain after you already know the result. It could easily have been a photo of Heta celebrating his 152, we get thumbnails like that all the time, so you simply don't know whether it's a winner or just a random snapshot, except if it's your first time watching and you just assume it's always the winner. You really have to go out of your way to have your experience "completely ruined" by a thumbnail.
