What I find sad is that the crowd has little to no reaction when Tom says this is a song from a band called Venom. it's almost as if they have no idea who the hell he is talking about. Witching Hour is one of the most metal songs I've ever heard!
Lyrics: Come hear the moon is calling, The witching hour draws near, Come hear the bell is tolling, Mortals run in fear, Prepare the altar now and hear the virgin cry, Hold fast the sacrifice, For now it's the time to die, All hell breaks loose, Hell's breaking loose. Unveil the pentagram, And feel the demons lust, Come watch the holy men, Who look on in disgust, Come taste blood, And feel the heat of Satan's breath, Look in the sky's and see, The warriors of death, All hell breaks loose, Hell's breaking loose, Witching hour. Our work is now complete, The blood runs fast and free, And Satan takes his bride, And cry's of blasphemy, All hell rejoices at the child, That she will bear, And Satans only son, Shall be the worlds despair, All hell breaks loose, Hell's breaking loose, Witching hour
@@marcosfernandezmartinez5284 There was a school of bands back then that fed off each other. Everyone was influenced by everybody, but Motorhead was the first rising out of the traditional metal scene (Priest, Maiden, Sabbath, etc). Then Venom with their neo-Sabbath Satanism, Exciter with speed metal, Metallica, Voivod, and Slayer followed. No one band creates a scene. It always rises out of a school of bands with similar ideas. Together they created the canon necessary to make the music famous.
I use 2 have this concert on vhs in the 1990s...i remember my dad saw me watching this video and i dont think he liked it because it ended up in the trash can ..i could never find this video ever..machine head is jamming with slayer here..
I got to see Slayer on the Divine Intervention tour. Unfortunately I didn’t arrive until machine wasn’t just finishing up. Biohazard was after but I never cared for them. Slayer however, put on a great show as always

Our beloved old super bands are fantastic. However, it is also a fact that in recent years, measured by the TOP 50 hit lists of the largest music markets in the world, no human musicians were involved in more than 80% of the songs / hit recordings. And the computer-generated sound is still on the rise. So let's all support young musicians who make handmade music. Only if we buy their records, DVDs and merch do we enable the young bands and musicians to turn their passion into a profession and also to be able to make a living from it. The ROCK N ROLL is crying out for help folks...🤘🎸🎹🎷🎤🎺🥁🤘.
Sup, did you know that phrase was etched in the dead space of original Show No Mercy records?! I showed how to play this version last year if ur jamming bro!
there wouldnt be any slayer without venom. The british trio paved and morphed what metal was suppose to be. Although this track by slayer and Co is a masterpiece, nothing is better than the rawness of venom
2023... still one of the most metal moments in history..
Wish I could have been at this show.
And we had Stone Cold and X-Pac play guitars before they became full time wrestlers.

Totally agree. This is sonfking rad. They should press the whole show to vinyl

Reminds me of Motörhead
That's because it's a Venom song
Venom was influenced by Motörhead and Slayer was influenced by Venom.

@@_PuppetMaster86 Venom black metal? Just because the song title is "Black Metal" does not mean anything. Venom is Punk and Thrash.

best cover of metal history
Slayer wouldn’t have been a thing if Venom wasn’t.
Mr UndeadGaming Metal today wouldn't be what it is had it not been for venom.
That's not necessarily true. There'd still be bands like Sabbath and Priest and a shit load of punk bands that influenced Slayer's sound.
Dmitri Blaskowitz but venom was definitely important in giving them that satanic theme in their songs and giving them a darker sound.
Yeah they have also created EXTREME METAL
Metal would be nothing without Sabbath
Suicidal tendencies and slayer covering venom ... that's so fucking good.
