This looks identical to the Trojan branded tool chest and trolleys that are sold at Bunnings here in Australia! I Just got one of these today as a 30th Birthday present!
Hey man nice video. Question, how deep is this box with the top open, not closed. It’s rated at 21.5 inches deep, but that’s with the top closed. I’m wanting one to go into a big steel cabinet and depth might be an issue
Looks great! I ended up with the 48" wide top and bottom chests and am completely satisfied with them. You'll like these chests a lot. When you get your tools in it and get them organized, show us how you did it.
Looking into this and the drawers seem very flimsy. I recently got a Husky “industrial” box and was amazed at how thick it was. Also have a husky limited edition and it is thick as well. As I understand it husky also makes various quality boxes as well from 18, 19, 20, and 21 gauge steel. Some of the husky stuff is easy to tell that it is thin as well, so you have to be careful. Was looking for another edition and the more videos I see on the HF the more it seems like it is definitely on the thin side and wouldn’t be an upgrade from the craftsman that I already have. I have this same box. I'm pretty sure its the absolute best you can buy in this price range! Very high quality! Eventually I may upgrade to the US General 44" top and bottom.. but I'm good for now.
Nice buy! I had researched the heck out of these type of tool chests and found that yours and the Menards Master Force boxes were head and shoulders above the rest of the budget boxes.
I bought this same one after looking at a Craftsman and some store-brand chests. I found that the Harbor Freight U.S. General was better and less expensive. I had a coupon which made mine $299.99 at the time. I've had mine for 6 years now and it's fully loaded with tools. I bought it as a second chest due to my Waterloo getting too full. The only thing I added was a metal cabinet handle to the lid that I bought from Ace Hardware. Makes it a lot easier to raise and lower the lid. It's a terrific tool chest! I really wanted the 44 in. chest, but I couldn't really afford that one at the time. Plus, it wouldn't really fit in the corner of my living room when I had my apartment at the time. And here my mom wanted me to get a recliner for the corner.
I have had a kennedy nice but$$$$, several levels of craftsman, a homak, and a us general 40" base. By far the value of the us general is the best. i have had it for 2 years and it is great. So tomorrow I am going to buy this box. It is built the same as my larger one, but will fit in tight places better. I have not noticed any wear over the two years I have had the 40" general
Congrats! A nice toolbox is always a great thing to have. Like I said before, I have a mix of Craftsman and Harbor Freight and they work pretty good. If I was a pro and feeding my family with my tools I'd surely use something along the lines of Matco or Snap-on, but for the shade tree stuff I do, these boxes are great.
I did a year of searching for the "right" tool chest. I went to Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, Sears, MAC, Cornwell, but the best chest for the price I found was at Costco. Right at 600 dollars and was built for dynamite storage. jk....it's really tough tho but the drawback to the quality and toughness is that it's HEAVY lol oh well what can you do.
Have you ever considered a bike lift as I am rebuilding a 2003 FJR which has been beaten into the ground and my hang up is getting up and down off the floor.
Was wondering how this box is still holding up for you? Any complaints, issues or positivies? I'm in the similar situation where I need a tool chest but I don't want to waste my money on flimsy junk but I don't need or want to spend on a $1,000+ set up. I've been looking at Homak lines but maybe this Harbor Freight unit will do.
That looks like a real nice tool box. I got my tool box from Lowes mostly cause it was blue. It has been a great box so far. It looks very similar to that one you got. I didn't get as good a deal though.

Hmmm, I wonder what the pawn shop will give me for all 4 metal tool boxes? with no rust ~ LoL

nice box lucky my dealership provides me with a box so I've got my 2 boxes at home eventually im gonna go with the 750 dollar us general the big box for home
Can't use a 20% off coupon on tool boxes, it says so on the coupon but they refer to them as "Storage Cabinets". I tried to purchase the 41" 13-drawer last week in Ohio.
Im happy with the box. What really irked me was they told me they would honor it, then at the check stand they said no. The Boise store also told me they would honor it, but Boise is 15 miles away / about 2 hours one way!

I've never heard of a tool box or chest being referred to as a Storage cabinet before.

You must have looked at another model then, because this has been in use for a year and it's rock solid.
