I noticed after the update that pacting and resetting became a little less common. I'd probably say this is because pact now increases both parties' health to 200, meaning it's directly beneficial to both parties now if they play their cards right.
Here's how you fix Pact: 1. Give all players connected with Pact team affiliation towards eachother. 2. Make all of the players in the same pact share their max HP. For example: pact of three players would have 300 max HP in total for each player. 3. If a player in the pact resets their character (with kill credit or not) OR instantly die for a non-entity reason (e.g: void, lava, grinder, self-destruct items), all pact members will instead lose that player's max HP from before they were pacted. 4. Pact max HP is reset to (100 / PactedPlayerCount) if it ever gets any lower. 5. Item behavior in pacts work identically to item behavior in teams. 6. If the round ends with you in a pact, the player with the highest kill count shares their place with you. Ending the round while in a pact for at least 30 seconds rewards a badge, and you gain bonus points for each pact member you had before the round ended.
Earlier, I was playing the new asylum update. Spawned with eyelander, airpod shotty, and pact. Found a person with smile and immediately pacted them. We both knew the assignment and that is teaming up. We both won that round with a lot of kills and a kill streak. This was pointless..

Just make it so if you pact someone the reset button gets turned off like in some games. And I'd say friendly fire disabled would be good too. (Though it'll still be used as a one shot weapon when it's a map with a void smh)

This is what I thought it was used for when I started playing and I’m glad to see people still using as intended. I just like pacting to try and stay alive with each other. To be honest pacting with a merged smile to stay alive gives you FREE KILLS. Though it is better to get one pre merged because then you won’t use all the health and instead make your way up to full easier. Just a terrible use to reset.

Whenever I get pact, I don’t reset because that just feels cheap. I either just wait for the person I’m pact with to kill me, which happens a lot. Or I just start murdering the enemy team when it’s tc or tdm, because they don’t want to kill their merged smile.
If pact is intended to be more for teaming, then I think they should make both pact players have a significantly better heal rate the closer they are, higher speed the closer they are, and it (idk if this makes it even more of a “shutdown” item or not but) should make them share the same items, so if one guy has lamp the ither guy switches to the same weapon, but the other weapon stays the same, or more teamwork related stuff like that
pact should deal the same amount of damage to the survivor as the max hp of the person who died, so when a person pacts to a smile and resets, the smile loses 100 hp instead of dying

A tip: aim ahead of your enemy based on distance, the farther they are, the farther the prediction, this helps with aiming Cero shots and stuff.

Whenever someone pacts me I tend to stop attacking them. Long as they don’t try and attack me we usually last for a while
