Shane Burcaw (he/him) is the author of several award-winning books about disability. He is the President of a nonprofit organization called Laughing At My Nightmare, and a renowned public speaker who has performed across the country at places such as Harvard University, The University of Florida, The University of Connecticut, Princeton University, and many more.
Hannah Burcaw (she/her) graduated from Carleton College, where she studied Sociology and Anthropology. She films and edits the “Squirmy and Grubs” vlog, which has over 800,000 subscribers on TH-cam. Hannah has spoken at prestigious universities and Fortune 500 companies alike about the realities of ableism. On her popular Instagram account, she advocates for acceptance of all people and works to improve the way society thinks about disability.
Shane and Hannah have been together for over four years. They got married in September of 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic in their backyard, with their officiant conducting the ceremony via Zoom. Their interabled relationship often confuses people, because much of society still cannot fathom people with disabilities being involved in loving, intimate relationships. Anyone who watches these episodes will quickly see their relationship is just as “normal” as any other. Sure, Hannah helps Shane use the bathroom and brush his teeth, but those activities do not detract from the emotional, intellectual, and physical connection they experience together.

As a 46 year old, I actually said, "oh man, that would be an advantage of shopping in the kids section!" right before you said it, and questioned whether it was creepy. So that's a no.
Either I haven't seen as many videos as I think I've seen, or, "Helping!" makes its triumphant return in this video.

Don't feel bad about the shirts, Shane. I have dwarfism and also have to shop in the children's section. I once had one of my first grade students excitedly tell me that they had the same shirt I'd worn to work that day! (For reference, I was completing my Masters at the time)
Our dog loved having his crate in the walk in closet too! People always looked at us weird when they saw his crate in there but that’s where he liked to be! He passed a month ago 😢 after 12 years of companionship.

I stayed in an Embassy Suites somewhere on the east coast as a kid and all I remember is the breakfast. The food area was setup like a lush tropical jungle with plants and trees everywhere and birds. It was amazing. Also the food itself was great too. Very fun experience.

I spent a good chunk of my childhood at the University of Michigan hospital! Definitely go to Zingermans Deli (if they are open, I was in Ann Arbor in April and couldn't get in). Also, the Henry ford Museum and Greenfield village is worth a visit as well!

Never feel bad about wearing fun colors and prints-it is way cooler than being cool-I just met a very large bearded man in the health food store that had a beautiful printed dress on - I told him I love it- it was tie dyed and brilliant- go for it - I'm a 70 ish woman and still waiting for men to wear bright colors and dresses- why not lead the way- YES!

We just had the same experience at Embassy. I wished they had notified us when we made the reservation. Having to find a dinner place, at dinner time, after a day of driving, wasn't good. The evening reception and the great breakfast are the reasons we pay a bit more to stay there. The breakfast was very scaled down too. Disappointments when your on the road seem more annoying. We know to check now.
