    i have always looked at the scp foundation as the good guys in its world, but i actually side with the doctor here, if people can learn this power and save lives with ease they should, who cares about normalcy

    • @Charolette21
      @Charolette21 ปีที่แล้ว +62

      The “Normalcy” the foundation wants to preserve doesn’t seem like the natural order of things really, the beings they lock up have a better claim to be considered more natural. Also they really should call the surgeon by her name if they’re making her treat their employees.

    • @zenethehero5527
      @zenethehero5527 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      You also have to consider the length people will go for power just imagine mafia gangs fighting with anomalies like it's normal
      There too many powerful people that would love to gain extra power and plus the foundation wouldn't love to be invested in politics

    • @Charolette21
      @Charolette21 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zenethehero5527 You could say that about human-made technology or medicine. There are risks to using modern medications, but if you can do more good than bad from it, that's a goddamn win in my book. No matter how good or indifrent the intentions are, there will always be assholes exploiting it. That still fear still doesn't allow the policing of what "normal" looks like. If more Doctor Sarah Veers could exist by normalizing what she is doing, the number of psycotic cultists would be greatly minimized. Imagine the amasing things you could do with Cytomancy when applied under ethical medical contexts, we'd be DECADES more advanced than were the world is at now in the SCP universe.

    • @stephenforsberg4038
      @stephenforsberg4038 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Supposedly there are SCPs which could be declassified and become considered normal in time like SCP-001-EX-J (fire, just the concept of fire) and SCP-8900-EX (the very visual perception of color). I know that SCP-8900 became considered "normal" as it was not containable, but it's very existence opens the door a little on the matter.
      Still, there are some things that are better left locked-up rather than left free in the world or destroyed (like the fact that most to all surviving specimens of the Bubonic plague are in storage in case a genetically similar plague appeared and a parallel study between the two plagues may accelerate the progress towards a cure or vaccine. There may be other reasons I don't know about the situation.)

      The SCP foundation has never really been considered good or evil ever in its run time, as far as i know they've always been depicted as Chaotic Neutral, while some iconic characters within the universe are shown as being more pure hearted than others the organization itself as a whole is rather obscure in its true alignment

      yall must be like 16 or something, the question was basic at best. The foundation deals with, has knowledge, of and contains thousands of SCPs, they are literally the ONLY organization that should be allowed to decide what normal is. Lets forget about the fact that 99.9999% of Sarkics are flesh eating virus-mancers that destroy human life like a hobby, even her ability could spiral out of control should the wrong normal organizations such as the Pentagon or other corrupt pharmaceutical companies get their hands on her abilities. The 05 council would probably scoff at her reply and then realize, and if anyone reacted like the doctor did to the question they would realize they are being portrayed in a fictitious world.

    An SCP that's capable of saving lives almost got taken hostage...yeah, while she did manage to save herself from danger...Dr. Turner does have a point on why she can't be released, because she's proven to be someone that uses it for good, and it would be pretty tragic if something fatal happens to her.

    • @ZeoViolet
      @ZeoViolet ปีที่แล้ว +7

      They didn't need to coerce her to work for them by ambushing her! This is what made me mad about the video. She's into charity work. There is no reason that, with proper supervision, she couldn't continue that on at least a limited basis. They could have just approached her when she got off for the day, and made her an offer. The Foundation is open to working with their more harmless or beneficial anomalies within reason. She'd work great with an undercover team that does such charity work as a cover.

    • @genikit5795
      @genikit5795 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ZeoViolet While I will agree with you on how they first approached her seems highly unneccesary, in their defense, they often do something like that towards something they don't fully understand, as to them, she could've immediately gone hostile even if they didn't ambush her.

    • @ZeoViolet
      @ZeoViolet ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@genikit5795 The Foundation knows how utterly stupid it is to rush in and grabby-grabby-grab without caution or a bit of research, if possible. That other doctor had done a lot of research on her before they swooped in, so a more subtle approach would not have been off the table as an attempt, even if they approached first with a cover story in a more personal attempt to find out for certain how she thinks. She's a rare "real deal" good person with an awesome ability. At the very least, even going with the agreement given by the end of the video, cutting a deal with her that still lets her do what she loves while still otherwise servicing the Foundation would not be out of the picture. An ability like hers would nearly make her a walking future 05 Council material.

I cannot see the SCP foundation as the good guys or them doing anything good in any sort away they are more like the monsters than the monsters they catch. Honestly, they should’ve let her go to help other people that really needed it than their foundation. Yes, they have a lot of casualties, but at the same time the foundation treats them as canon fodder more than anything else. There are many sick people that could use that doctors help.

    Helping the foundation sounds good until you realize that some of those cases would be better off dead than tortured and sewn together again and again
