    I noticed Daniel almost filled his molds with the clear and cured then started doing the layers very thinly. Love your blue teardrops.

    This is a cool technique & very pretty. I find with the mica powder if I pat it on instead of brush I can get more powder on the item. You'll get this Michelle. 👍

    They are all pretty, but my favourites are those last 2 blue ones, they are beautiful. As for the rounded ones, I'd colour a black pupil in and use them as eyes. As someone else mentioned, it makes a big difference if you really burnish the powder on. I hope you will do more, as I'm positive you will make some stunners. Thank you for sharing x

    I have made quite a few of these, here are a couple tips. Work in small batches, I do mine one at a time, work the resin all the way around, up to the top and cure. Do this with each layer. Also, keep your powder, only on the resin.

    I use similar techniques to make Moonstone and labradorite types of effects. You can totally use the deeper mold you just need to put more UV resin and Fila about three-quarters full before you furnish your first layer of powder then pour one more thin layer and repeat if necessary. I fill the entire mold up to where the UV resin just starts to ride along the top edge of the mold and then cure completely. I then remove them and add only a small thin layer of color that way the entire front of the cabochon is clear and you don't see the layers as much. This also keeps my colors from bleaching Down Under the mold onto the front side of my cabochon. I use a piece of putty tack to rest my finished piece on and putting the back color oh, you only need a small amount. You really only want to burnish the powder on the back 10% of the cabochon, the color will radiates throughout the entire piece and is actually very beautiful in these deeper rounded pieces.

    You can also use gel polishes with SFX that mimic opal, pearlescent and other SFX designs to suit then pour resin over them. You can even mix the gel polish in to the uv resin as long as you’re not using a greater ratio than one third gel polish to two thirds resin.

    I have a theory that uv resin is very similar to gel nail polishes. I do know quite a bit about gel polishes and nail powders. I think I want to try using powders with no-wipe gel nail topcoat.(All the powders in nail art do best with the no-wipe topcoat. They just can be burnished right in) the powders also seem to work well with UV resins. Your opal is stunning.❤ I would recommend a more shallow initial clear layer, and perhaps the addition of a very few small mylar flakes. The iridescent ones.

    I tell ya if you do a tap tap and get all that extra powder off your brush and applicators, they will turn out better for ya. there will be just enough left on them to work.

    Michelle please help. I'm using uv resin on an area in my mold & it wicks away & pools in the middle. How can I make it spread?

    • @glitznglitterbymichelle1
      @glitznglitterbymichelle1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’re going to have to add more resin so that doesn’t happen

      So perhaps I have too much dye & not enough resin?

    • @glitznglitterbymichelle1
      @glitznglitterbymichelle1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not too much dye as long as it’s curing

    If you used black on the back i bet you can make it look like labradorite. ❤
