This video is exactly what is required to alert all other road users, as well as pedestrians, to the dangers of not giving HGVs the respect and space they require. South Lanarkshire Council have provided a first rate educational tool that I would love to see taken up by ADI's and schools across not just Scotland, but all countries!

Like the comment about being a danger to cyclists, made me laugh. Cyclist are a danger to them self's. If they had their young child on the cycle too in in a seat would they........ ride down insides of indicating and turning trucks??? Jump red lights??? Ride how they would on the own??? NO,NO & NO If they answer no no no they know what there doing and just taking chances. If they say yes yes yes they would ride that way with their child then maybe their better of squashed before they get the kid squashed
! Had 35 years driving heavier ones than what is shown ? ? ! Had no time for myself or family !e the hours worked in the week so with the CPC and the young blood telling me ?I'm to slow and the introduction of eastern block drivers I said bollocks ??? And retired and glad I did !!!.
Where is the BANKSMAN in the manoeuvre in to the loading dock - the female in the white coat looks rather surprised as she appears from behind the truck. If anyone was hurt at this location there would be a serious HSAW Section 3 issue given that this is a known risk. On a construction site CDM Regulations make it generally illegal for any truck to be reversing without a banksman on foot but not at many High Street stores. Tail lift detail should NEVER happen, someone should be on ground
HGV drivers do all this wonderfully socially necessary stuff and the industry must not be blamed for its contribution to climate change... because we as a society dismantled the railways in the 1960s under a tory government, and don't have the werewithal to reverse that foolish decision. So instead we pretend its normal to have behemoth lorries thundering around, endangering cyclists, damaging the road surface, pumping out noxious fumes etc. etc. etc.
If a vehicle this size and heavy has so many flaws in their vision they shouldn't be on the roads in the first place. Clearly these are issues that need to be solved before they are allowed on the roads and even more in busy cities. Simple.
Three quarters of cyclists killed in London had a HGV involved. They are also involved in 50% of fatal road incidents across Britain. In 85% of cases is the driver found at fault. Clearly real facts that morons like you two wouldn't find on a video game or porn web sites. ***** Chris Hibberd
