Seem to remember about 10 years ago, the "Most popular English meal" as voted for by thousands was Chicken Tikka Masala. Which is interesting since - good luck finding it in India (or Pakistan or Bangladesh or Sri Lanka).
By most accounts Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in Glasgow, and the deviser was Pakistani -- but then in the UK "Indian restaurant" is used as a generic term, even though most such eateries are in fact owned and run by Bangladeshis or (especially in Scotland) Pakistanis. It's no big deal, even to the restaurant owners themselves! It's interesting to compare the situation in India itself, where most of the highly popular "Chinese restaurants" are actually owned and run by Indians.
Melorca: I think we could both be right, inasmuch as Ali Ahmed Aslam, the person usually credited with the invention of the dish, came to the UK from East Bengal -- at the time was a part of Pakistan -- in the 1950s. Bangladesh (the former East Bengal) won its independence from Pakistan in 1971, which was about the time that chicken tikka masala was created.
Curry is seen as our adopted National Dish here in England most people love it and I know lots of guys who seem to have unofficial competitions of who can eats the spiciest dish when they go out to eat! I actually can’t take any heat as it kills my taste buds and I can’t taste anything after spice hits my mouth and therefore I mostly eat a Korma unless I go to a curry house that actually has other mild options which is quite rare. My husband however loves spicy food the hotter the better he says! Glad you enjoyed the experience it maybe Indian but it is also part of our culture now too.😁

jaguar and landrover are owned by the TATA MOTOR(Indian conglomerate).
Best way to pronounce Gulab jamun(Indian sweet dish) is....GOOO...LAB...JA...MOON
Eric really did look happy when he ate that dessert. Thanks for another very interesting video, although I noticed both of you sometimes say Birming-ham and other times it's Birming-um. I also find it interesting how Americans pronounce Jaguar.
Curry is like religion here in the UK glad you guys enjoyed it👍
We don't take so much pickle in one byte in papadam. it is just an taste changer for a tangy taste in between different dishes.
First curry I ever had was a Lamb Rogan Josh :-) very nice. Good Video as ever.
Lamb Rogan Josh is my favorite too, its curry is perfect blend of flavors.
Actually d original is Mutton(Goat) Roghan Josh.
Great food. I am so proud that I was born in India.
That indian food ❤❤
Jag you arr. Owned by Tata motors of India which also owns the Range Rover. Some models of the RR have Jaguar engines. And yes, they are awesome cars. I have never seen anyone ever off road their RR here in CA but it looked like fun.
Thanks for the videos guys. I come from Birmingham and you make my city look so great (we get a bad press in the UK usually).
