    This video has made me so happy you have no idea im talking tears in my eyes bc it just reaffirmed my decision to get my dad an ebike so we can ride its been years since my dad and i have been on a bike together and if he can hit some easy trails with me that would mean the world to me. Keep up the vids guys these are super cool and i really appreciate you real life take on these types of bikes.

      Thats awesome, my grandfather was really into mountain biking when it first came out, he was invested in a bike shop crazy bikes, then he broke his leg and never really got the strengh back to ride, a year ago he got an ebike and I biked with him on a dirt path and it was awesome

      Well Steve you made our night man, that is such an awesome comment:) I wish you were closer and we could meet up and let your dad ride the E bike with ya! we are very grateful to be in the position to recieve these bikes and review them for people, and the coolest thing is now being able to do it with my dad. I had to take a second a few times while riding and remind myself we were there to work, I was so wrapped up with daydreaming while dad was ahead of me. He now has the ability to cruise with me and not worry about his heart. Thank you for the comment and man I really hope you can get a chance to get an E bike for the old man. It has changed my dads outlook, both of ours really....crazy man.

      @@FloridaEbikes Is it a Tourney? I usually hate those derailers because they're so loud and clanky, and on some bikes the bigger gears on the tourneys grind up against your first gear if you put a normal length chain. I don't know if you've ever noticed but if a bicycle comes with a Tourney derailleur the chains are usually on the short side. The two bicycles I have that came with tourneys, the first thing I did was got rid of them and replace them with the flat face, the flat-faces is a cheap derailleur but I've had much better luck with that derailleur as far as being quiet. If that is Tourney derailleur, its the quietest one I've ever heard.

    I have a couple of E-bikes and I enjoy them much more than I thought I would. The initial guilt I felt lasted about a week.. I get out and Ride often and I know having the "E-Bike" capabilities" play a huge part in it all. I am 45 and have had 11 Brain surgeries, my body is a mess. My E-bikes allow me to get out and enjoy what I love without worrying about if I'll be able to finish the planned ride. Thinking about adding a mid drive system to my Specialized Fatboy for mo gooder fun! Was Wolfman in Port Orange FL this morning?

    Tip for having more reliable mechanical brakes:
    Hold down the swing arm at the caliper, use barrel adjuster to tighten the wire, then hold it still and use pliers to tighten the nut, Wolftooth Pack Pliers are perfect for this they don't crush the nut like regular pliers will. The shape hooks on to the shape of the barrel adjuster.

    😄 I have an Orbea Wild FS H20 emtb with 85nm and it shines on climbs!! Even in east TN mountains, I ride 90% in Tour mode which is level 2 of 4 assist, just bump up for steep climbs.
    BTW, an ebike with a throttle is a Class 2 which is normally not allowed on mtb trails (Class 1 ebike is pedal assist only and not classified as a "motorized" bike)

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      85nm dang!! Yeah I only used the throttle to test it out but I prefer to pedal. It is for sure not for use on some trails, but I might be breaking that rule on occasion with doctors note in hand haha, but since I wont be tearing up the trails, hopefully I won't attract too much attention😂.

    Give the snow leopard a modern mountain bike treatment and make it truly trail capable, drivetrain with clutch derailleur, dropper, hydraulic brakes. I'm really digging the wolftick shirt, too bad it's not available for fat kids

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MAN!!! I could of sworn it was available in 3X and 4X- next shirt we will try to see if we can get it up there in sizes for our "husky" Viewers!!! Thanks Berserker! Now gonna need some hydros to help slow pops down, but we got to check and see if the brake switch is integrated or not??? Not too sure when it comes to e-bikes!!

    • @BerserkerNick
      @BerserkerNick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The brakes might be as simple as installing the cable actuated hydraulic calipers, and since it's an odd seatpost size you could easily use a shim when installing a dropper. With the drivetrain I would go with an 11-42tooth 10 speed if possible with a clutch derailleur and keep the big factory drive sprocket, this would give it better climbing capabilities while at the same time still being able to get up to speed. My brain has been ticking on this since I watched you guys unbox it. Definitely need a 4x, lifting weights and home cooking has made me a little too big for pretty much everything.

    Now that's a more Wolf worthy e-bike.
    Awesome to see a Wolf in its natural environment.
    Hell yeah that battery takes longer to charge. It's almost 3 times more battery than your down-tube road e-bike.
    Fenders suck if you're doing tricks but are awesome for riding through muck and not getting soaked.
    The only time it matters how heavy an e-bike is, is when you have to lift or push it (without power). Keep it maintained and charged and you'll never care how heavy it is.
    Most e-bike controllers allow hacking how the power gets delivered and how fast it amps up and slows down.
    It's not a quiet motor because it's a real motor not one that has almost 1 human power.
    Definitely not up to taking the Tick down the Cat's Meow (out of the box) but I think you underestimate the uses for a bike like that. I live in NYC and, if I'm not carrying passengers or cargo, for local errands (within 10 miles) an e-bike is faster and easier than a car. If you do parts upgrades you could make that a pretty bad-ass bike, even for trails.
    I look forward to seeing you guys ride together more often.
    P.S. I still think that Malus deserves a BBSHD mid-drive and so does the Wolf. 80nm of torque, bah! Try 160 on a mid-drive that can use the bikes gears like a transmission;)

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS

      DUDE I could not imagine 160!! HA HA Now wolfman was howlin away just had to cut that part out!! @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Definitely makes sense. The controllers were designed by tech geeks. Tech geeks love to be able to "refine" things to their liking. You might be able to hack the controller to be more refined to your liking if not make it actually refined. Maybe if you have spare wheels, otherwise baldys turn it into a pavement princess;)

    • @michaelsprinzeles4022
      @michaelsprinzeles4022 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 160 is only at full throttle or pedaling REALLY FAST at top assist. I only use the throttle if I came to a stop without the chance to downshift first & I rarely use that much power but it's handy for hauling my dog trailer up the steep hill I live on. WOT the throttle causes wheelies in the lower 4 gears. Only reason I suggest that motor is because it's the only plug & play motor wide enough for a fat bike bottom bracket. For the standard size 68-73 you can get a BBS02 with a puny 120nm;) I actually have a BBS02 too on a city bike and I tuned it for less power and more range. 120 is more than enough especially when it goes through the bikes gears.

  • @soandsononame8750
    @soandsononame8750 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    for trail riding you want a throttle, and turn pedal assist off (unless your ebike has a torque sensor like a bosch mid drive). If your PAS works based off a cadence sensor, it considers pedaling either ON or OFF. Thats why pedal assist has a delay when it is starting/ stopping, is the cadence sensor requires the cranks to rotate a certain degrees before it can detect anything. Many hub drive ebikes have a huge delay with their cadence sensor and the PAS feels unresponsive and sloppy

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know man and very informative, thank you. The bike does not feel sloppy but the throttle feels a little lower torque wise then the pedaling.

    That's awesome 750W lots of POWER!! my e-bike is like 55lbs and only has a 350w motor that 750 must be a beast! I was riding my normal mountain bike up this rocky long wet hill and was tired as hell it was like 95 degrees outside and this guy latterly blows by me and I was like what the heck this guy must be in super shape and later on I seen him and he said to me it's not me it's the bike...It's electric I was like no wonder why he was flying!! My e-bike only goes 15mph but with most e-bikes you can unlock them by pressing some buttons or unplugging a plug and now mine goes a little over 20mph it's crazy!! never run the batteries all the way down best to stop when one bar is left and recharge so you don't shorten the batteries life. That's awesome your dad can rip around on this one! maybe on the off road sections let a lot of air out of the tires it will probably ride really smooth and who cars your not peddling so it will still go!

    • @OktaFierce

      @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Yeah it will be an issue with the brake switch. On another custom ebike I installed a microswitch with the lever adjusted and zip tied to the rear brake lever so as soon as you move it it triggers the brake switch to cut the motor (or in my case started the regenerative braking on the 1000w hub motor). for the 1599 price tag of this bike i would spend 300 dollars more and get an aventon adventure. Thay bike has a derailier that is 2 steps up from the tourney (acera). Also the aventon has generic hydralics but they probably work better than the tektro mechanicals on that bike and those hydralics have a motor cut off switch. IMO the coil fork on the aventon seems better than the one equipped on this bike and the aventon comes in sized frames. I'm not trashing the bike you are reviewing although that company could do a bit more for 1599. Good looking bike,but riding off road with all that weight has got to be tiring.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it could stand to be a little lighter (so can I) but the bike does most of the work. The times it gets taxing is when there are a bunch of switchbacks real close and stuff like that.

      Tenway or this one?

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that's hard because they are so different. The Tenways is like a nice, very refined, good looking sports car and the Haoqi is like a Mack Truck, and a Toyota Prius had a baby. As much as I like the Tenways, I would keep the Haoqi if I could only have one. With the Haoqi we can ride trails together and I can ride it on the pavement albeit at a slower speed than the Tenways. So I guess thats my answer, cuz.😉😆

    • @Timh-hq7tr
      @Timh-hq7tr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I like the haoqi better. It’s big and looks like it’ll be more sturdy and hold up longer. Price tag is not to bad either. It just seemed so much more better built. Except the chain. That drove me nuts. Something that good and bam a fn chain lol

    I bet if a guy could put a trailer behind it, this would be fantastic to pack in for elk hunting. It would make packing 4 or 5 hundred pounds of meat out much nicer. A couple extra batteries and a guy would be set.
