  • In this detailed video, we will show you how to toggle the chime indicators on your 6160RF control panel.
    Honeywell 6160RF: alrm.gd/honeywell-6160rf
    Get Monitored! alrm.gd/get-monitored
    Chimes are audible alerts when a sensor installed in your security system is triggered. When a door or window opens, or glass breaks, the sensor relays that trigger to the control panel. The control panel will sound an audible alert to let you know something has happened.
    Our video will discuss how to toggle these tones. There are many reasons to change the sounds for your various alarms. As seen in the video, one option is to have an audible recognition when an alarm is triggered.
    You can toggle the chimes for the different sensors so that each sensor or each sensor type either has an audible alert through the control panel or not. This will allow you to know from the control panel if alarms are triggered.
    To adjust the chime of your sensors you need to access the Honeywell 6160RF control panel keypad. Flip the door panel down to see the push button key pad. The tutorial shows you how to access the panel.
    You will need your master user code. The master code is different than the installer code. By default, the master code is 1234. The video will instruct you that you should change the default master code. If you are currently setting up a new system, you should modify the master code now.
    If you have not changed your master code, you can use the default factory code of 1234 to toggle the alert chimes. The process is simple and following along with our video you will be able to toggle your alarm chimes quickly.
    After you enter your master code, you need to press the chime button. This is the same as button number 9 on the key pad for easy reference. Once you enter the master code and press chime, the LCD panel will display that disarmed the chime. To toggle the chime off, you enter the master code once again followed by the chime button.
    Now your chime tone is off. In the event of a power cycle, or if the memory has been rebooted, the chime will be disabled by default. The video will explain the different ways that a reboot or power cycle will happen.
    If this happens, you will need to enable the chime by toggling it back to on. To do this, you enter the master code followed by the number 9, or chime, key on the push button key pad. This will enable the chime and set the toggle back to on.
    It is important to note that this method is for the global chime only. You do have the ability to set different chimes by the zone which is a feature we briefly describe in this video. You can watch a more detailed video on the chime by zone feature, which is more in depth than the global chime that is set here.

    My chimes were working but today they stopped working. My key pad does say disarmed chime. I have disabled the chime and re-enabled it again. Any ideas?

    Hi Frank how many wireless items can i add to one 6160rf keypad?

    • @nelsonocasio2462
      @nelsonocasio2462 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perfect, I was wondering if I needed another RF keypad for my 20p. I currently 2 6160 and 1 6160rf but only have three wireless devices on it and have been thinking of adding 2 CO detectors since my plug in one will be expiring in June of this year.My smokes are hardwired into the panel. Also do you happen to know how long do the smoke detector last? Mine are 3 years old and I do test them with a match every 6 months.
      Thanks again for the info, you are very helpful.

      Hey Frank, thanks for the video. I can't seem to find any compatibility information between then 6160RF and the 6160. I know this may be a "yes" no brainer, but the Honeywell website says the 6160RF is compatible with the 5828 and the 5828V.
      I would like to use one 6160RF for four wireless transmitters and one wired transmitter, as well as have a 6160 as a secondary keypad. Can I do this, or do I need two 6160RF?
      Thanks

      Sorry Frank, I also forgot to add there will be 2 wired doors, and 9 wired windows. Thanks.

    How do you turn off the arming chime when you arm the system. Also turn the sound down on the buttons etc.

    • @freddaniels8259
      @freddaniels8259 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Audible Exit Warning can be disabled for all keypads in programming field *37. If you only need to remove it for a single keypad it can be done in the sound suppression field for that particular keypad, i.e programming field *190-196 for keypads addressed 17-23.

    I like the chime especially when a door opens. but can you set it to chime when a zone closes too?

    • @SterlingDonnelly
      @SterlingDonnelly 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, there's no way to have the system chime when the zone fault restores. If you have Total Connect 2.0 service, you can get alerts when zones open (fault) and when they close (restore of the fault) and they can be texts, emails or even push notifications to iOS devices. You would have to add an alarm communicator if you do have the VISTA-20P if you wanted TC2 service. There are IP, cellular and dual path communicators available. I'd suggest emailing us at support@alarmgrid.com if you are interested in upgrading to that type of service.

    Is it possible to adjust the chime so it doesn’t do the triple chime sound? Perhaps a single chime for a shorter sound.

    • @traviscox7336
      @traviscox7336 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is not possible to adjust the chime on the Vista 20p panel as its not a feature. You can enable/disable it is all.
