- Created by Gurobuzz on DA. PLEASE NOTE: the squeaking is NOT from the pivoting areas but where the cable on the back rubs on the calf support panel. That will be fixed shortly.
Very light weight, each stilt is only 3.5 lbs (7 lbs total) and are very light. I am not able to operate stilts from companies such as Area 51 (DigiLegs) nor GirWizard as they are all too heavy for me. Buzz was able to engineer a set that were both very light and adjustable, making the fit custom to my weight and height.
These stilts are a 10 inch raise, making short little me a whopping 6 ft tall now! Balance and function is a big thing for me. Prior to this video I had been walking around in them for maybe half an hour. Very user friendly, they fold up into a compact 20 inches long. My set have a 250 lb weight limit and have been told a set that can support 350 lbs can be made.
I can job, skip, kick, go up stairs, stand still for long periods of time unaided, crouch, pick things up, walk up and down hills, balance on one foot, and many other things with these on. The only downside so far are my toes taking a lot of my weight, causing some discomfort. Going to work on that prior to FCN where I will be demonstrating these live.
Buzz takes these upon commission for $500 a set, shipping is only $15 for the US. There aren't many stilt makers in the market currently that offer stilts made custom to any height that can be adjusted to the wearer for comfort/height so I am extremely pleased to present these. Ready to wear right from the box, they can be furred for a costume or left bare. Takes less than 3 minutes to put on and take off without help.
You can stand still in these?! Man! What a great design! Props to Gorobuzz for making these stilts realistic AND functional. I'm very impressed. These are the first stilts of this style that I've seen that enable the wearer to stand still without having an enormous, blocky base. Walking up and down hills must be a huge bonus, too! So inspiring. It's good to know that this is possible!
Nylon sleeve for the cable to stop the squeak. Since the cable is already crimped you could just use a small sheet of Nylon, Delrin, or Teflon along the back of the calf. They're very low friction and will yield to the cable.
Crazy awesome stilts! Like seriously, wow. You made a great find, Sharpe.
The gate on those looks wonderful!
Oo these are fantastic! I must save for these as they fit in well with my costume idea! :D
for the toe crunching i found attaching an actual elastic ankle brace to the heel of the stilt and wrapping it around your ankle pulls your foot up to stop the toes from squishing ^-^
This look neat. also your adoreable I am also 5'2. Do you know where i could look for a pair of these? Price range?
amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so thats what Pizza looks like! Awesome
Sweet! And did u know a guy named Phelix before he moved? He is a good friend of mine and he said you guys were good friends, I was just curious if we were talking about the same people
Amazing
Kira, you could get a short 3-5 inch lift. That would give you a digitigrade look without the extra foot height.
Omg you're so adorable! -w-
May just try this. Thank you!!!
haha crocs XD awesome
I don't know much about fursuits, but are the stilts something that eventually get embedded into each costume or is each costume that uses stilts modified so you can slide your legs with the stilts on them into the costume?
I have a bad ankle and I'm doing really well :3
75% of the weight is supported by the lower thigh
I'm sorry but why put so much extra support for a few inches
I'd love to get a pair of these some day in the future. Are they hard on knees? Like when you bend or stand in the stilts for a while.
Do search for gurobuzz and dogleg stilts there are 2 videos, one plain and one furred
can I ask some questions? or are you not on youtube anymore?
Only discomfort is upon my toes and that is to be resolved soon. Other than that, no :D
The crocs are attached to the stilts themselves and what else would I wear under crocs but socks? XD
Can I buy a pair of these?!?!?! Please, please, please someone tell me!
What did you use??? Please try to answer with as much detail as possible :) thank you
So, I'm looking at these for a Warhammer 40k cosplay, and need quite a bit of height. I am 6 foot and am hoping to get to 7 foot. Any tips fr getting more than 3 or 4 inches while maintaining decent balance?
My ankles? naw. Both ankles and knees are doing well. Certainly a bit of a workout for your calf muscles though!
Did you make that or did you buy if you bought it can you tell me where can you buy it
Did you make a tutorial on the creation?
They're really cool, but terribly noisy! :(
I prefer using the padding, stilts aren't very safe. You can barely walk down stairs, sit on your knees or jump in excitement!
not bad
must save up...u'm only 5 ft and i don't make a very scary werewolf
To be honest, these are the cheapest on the market currently.
Ehhh.... who?
Still. 500 is too much. Would get them if they were 400. There the same price as area 51 stilts. Great design though, just to pricey
i just want that but i now it is imposible for me uwu"r
