If you want to see jayb in his real element (with vocals and imagery) please listen to Def - Sunset with you. Def is jayb's 'alternet ego' i guess and you will NOT be disappointed. He wrote and produced it himself, so you can clearly tell what his image is. It's a complete playlist song, but you won't know until you check it out!! BEWARE THOUGH the song can bring chills through your back while making you feel warm and welcomed (odd i know). It's not like the other kpop songs you have heard, it's RNB style. Jayb wrote and released an album as Def. called LOVE and all the songs on it are A MOOD. I hope you find time for reacting to Def.!!

This wasn't an official MV it was LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO and just an introduction of him as krnb solo artist from H1gher and again it's a live performance vocal video as you can see he has a mic and he is actually singing live. His official solo MV is B.T.W which is a title track for album SOMO:FUME and Switch it up is a bside track in that album

This video was an actual live performance. The song itself was more explicit than your typical K-pop song, and it was his first official solo song, so I do believe that there was some fear because of not knowing how it would be received. Even the choreography was very sexual, as the lyrics. You guys missed that part.
I definitely see what you mean. The song definitely isn't bad but the video definitely deserved a moment like BTW did.
It doesn't make sense that they didn't release a main video for the song before releasing the live version.
It was a pre-release basically and just a video saying that he was in the company.
Well check out his works as "Def"...He just released an album called "Love"
It is kind of H1ghr’s vibe, the chill local vibe and he basically followed their vibe. But he did only stayed there for a year, went to another company and went full on groove and funky with Go Up.

Monroe when you put it that way, I seriously cannot disagree like…I didn’t even read to much into the M/V quality at the time it came out. I was just anticipating what genre he’d go for and he didn’t disappoint. The only problem I actually had was the feature. I can’t even take that guys part seriously and just skip it most of the time. I think he deserved a much better feature because he’s honestly pretty wack to me. H1GHER definitely could’ve done a lot more in general. You all made pretty solid points and made me think about his solo debut a bit differently. As a fan of GOT7 and Jay B, all I can ask is for you guys to continue to check out his solo work in the future and see how he progresses as an artist 🙏🏽.
That Sokodomo verse is most definitely wack. His stuff is usually so much better and he's actually a crazy rapper. His style ain't for everyone though cus he's a super weird artist so I understand why people have mixed opinions on him. I just hope this verse hasn't tarnished your opinion of him completely, I promise he's pretty cool!

Sokodomos part is the only reason I sometimes skip this part. It’s honestly so bad
I'm so glad she clarified the subsequent song was so much better. Also loved the joke about them running the song over and over with a truck even after they were done

Well for starters it’s not an official music video 😭😭😭
I think I know exactly why the video was like this. They threw a video together really quick as a pre-release. His actual debut as a solo artist is a much better video. But I guess they wanted to put something out beforehand at the last minute and came up with this. As a sidenote... He was also busy working behind the scenes doing the paperwork for GOT7 so they could continue on as a group with their name and music post JYP. So I wonder if that played a part in this being rushed.
Honestly this makes A LOT of sense. That’s why I was so SHOCKED when I saw this cause I’m like my boy JB deserves the best!

He released this only not even weeks after joining h1ghr and it was promoted as a announcement single like his intro of being signed. Nothing more. His EP and BTW came literal months after.
@@RiVERSELiVE that’s what you get reacting and freely criticizing over somebody’s work without informing yourselves prior to it. This was only a google clic away but yet y’all decided to be not constructive and haughty about it. Think about it again if somebody would’ve said that about y’all work and video/ songs productions without doing any researches prior to it.
@@sonia4313 Don't be this way. The video was awful and it isn't anyone's job to look up why it was awful. All we as fans can do is maybe provide reasons we aren't even sure of ourselves.
@@powerdork16 this isn’t awful it’s literally a live video they literally announced it like that and as an announcement that he joined the label. this is actually pretty good for a video released only a like 2-3 weeks after he signed. You can see the difference with BTW because it’s literally the first single.
I don’t think it’s fair to criticize like that talking about budget and « no effort » when you don’t know the context, especially because they are themselves artists. I found that pretty insensitive and pretty haughty and not respectful of a fellow artist. If it would’ve been announced as the first single than yeah I would’ve also been disappointed and said it might lack some visuals. But y’all also need to comprehend that some labels and artists aren’t Kpop. You can’t expect Kpop mv depending on their label and why/ how it is released.
And if I might, reactors that are pro often actually does their researches before reacting. Most of them does, and Reverse used to do it on their first seasons, which seems not to be the case anymore.
We can see how much they love Jayb, this is the reaction all artist needs to watch. Switch it Up is such a good music, it really deserves a way better music video. JAYB deserves more. H1GHER MUSIC SHOULD HEAR US. Thank you for this.
problem here is that you guys as fans are watching it waay too late (literally half a year later). Everyone went crazy when Switch it Up dropped because it was like days after he announced he had signed with H1ghr. (He took a while to decide). Jay B wasn’t ‘posing’, it literally was a project that they finished and pushed out very quickly. You can tell because his actual solo debut had a whole schedule, music shows and all🤗

I get what you are saying.. But again it is a live video, it was never meant to be more that that.. I like the video and LOVE the song.. I think the only thing I didn't really like with this song is the feature, his rap part realy ruins the flow of the song for me.. I think everything was kinda rushed since he had just signed with H1GHR where they did an introduction video too.. JayB also had to work on anything GOT7 related after they left J**E, so they could keep their name and rights and all that.. So I think it was just a hectic few months, but I still love the video for what it is 💚💚

Loved the honest reaction but this was an actual live performance and not an official music video. Switch It Up was a digital pre-release released in May when he just signed to H1ghr and they only did a live performance and B.T.W (the subsequent video) has an official music video and was released with his debut album, SOMO:FUME, in August. I suggest paying attention to the title next time to put you in the right mindset going into the video because the title said Live Clip and not Music Video 😅
What’s funny is that 1 of the biggest complaint G7’s fandom has is the fact that JYPE didn’t give them high budget MV’s lol The comments mentioned some of this but Switch It Up was just a welcome performance video for him entering the company. The album this song was placed on wasn’t released until 3 months later. H1gher gave him 2 music video, 1 visualizer video, & this live performance video for an album with only 6 songs. JYPE would not have bothered forsure lol As for talent he ranks among the best in the industry especially in dancing as he’s a Bboy. He even got into JYPE for his dance skill lol
I just need jay b to join a decent ass company that'll give him the resources he deserves, he's sooo damn talented and deserves recognition for it

That was an honest and thoughtful reaction and I for one appreciate that. Sometimes you should separate the music from the visual. I also thought when this came out that JB seemed uncomfortable during some moments I then thought maybe it could be due to years of having his confidence undermined during his time under Jyp (the label) after remembering a video of JB presenting songs to JYP himself and having JYP shoot down song after song within the first few seconds. leaving JB looking so defeated.

H1ghr Music is one of Jay Parks labels so the budget wasn't the issue, this was pretty much a pre-release to let people know that he has joined the the label

When he came out with this pre-single, I thought the content and vision for it fit what he’d always been talking about making for years (his solo Sunrise with Got7 embodies this energy). But the video… I’d wondered what was the vision like for this? What kind of planning went into it on his part. How did this work? Jay B mentioned he originally didn’t want choreo but decided against it last minute because he wanted to retain that identity as a dancer from his training. His crew often remarks how he seems indecisive or tentative when expressing his vision (first time having such a big role).
I believe, just my opinion, he was aiming for a certain aesthetic and vibe, using this song (the content marks a large departure from most Kpop and Got7 lyrical content ie: “ride my body; you want me inside”) and he couldn’t deliver a consistent homogenous vision for this as his statement to the world for the kind of artist he wants to be moving forward.
The decision to use live, pre recorded audio, the forest to represent calm, the waters to represent calm, the soft lights and darkness, the groove- all of it became a hodgepodge that was ultimately poorly executed in some ways.
For contrast, the member Yugyeom also went solo through an RnB route and his video for his single I Want You Around (a solid vibe) was similar in vision: forest, dark with soft light, short dance routine, featured vocal- BUT IT DELIVERS SO MUCH BETTER I FEEL BECAUSE OF THE CONSISTENCY IN VISION. I don’t know why I did all caps lol but thanks for the commentary 😊
