JSerra’s Vice President of Mission and Faith, Patrick Reidy sits down with Actor, director, producer and voice-over artist, Jonathan Roumie. Roumie was born and raised in New York City. Roumie graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a degree in filmmaking before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue acting full time.
Roumie is best-known for his award-winning role as 'Jesus' in THE CHOSEN, the critically-acclaimed, streaming TV series about the life of Christ. Additional TV credits also include CHICAGO MED, THE MINDY PROJECT, THE GOOD WIFE, LAW & ORDER and the NCIS franchise. Roumie’s latest voice-over endeavors include the Disney+ animated sequel, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: KAMUNRAH RISES AGAIN. Jonathan serves as Strategic Advisor for the HALLOW APP, the largest and most popular prayer and meditation app in the world.
Roumie starred on the big screen in Lionsgate’s 70’s period drama, JESUS REVOLUTION, playing the real-life, enigmatic hippie street-preacher, Lonnie Frisbee. JESUS REVOLUTION grossed over $50 million dollars at the box office.
Most recently, Jonathan hosted the Amazon Prime Docuseries JONATHAN AND JESUS. The four-part docuseries takes a deep dive into the many different aspects of Roumie’s remarkable life since he found fame with "The Chosen."
Roumie is based in Los Angeles.
