Our favorite animal is definitely our two Goldendoodles. Me and my wife's fav game with an animal right now is actually Creature Comforts. So it's funny you guys reviewed it in this vid. We have played it a couple times and it amazes me how close each game is when scores are added up. I hope they do release some expansion content for it. I never thought I would like that game but we definitely are enjoying it right now.

Everdelle and Root both sound like great experiences. We haven’t played either game yet(board game newbs), but I’ve watched your videos on both and they are officially on my wishlist.
My girlfriend and I played Everdell a few days ago and we absolutely loved it. It's incredible.
Everdell and Root were the games that started my wife’s and my collection! We have so many plays on both and highly recommend!!
Everdell is a pretty accessible game, root might be a bit more of a challenge but it’s my favourite game of all time!
My favorite game with animals depends on who I am playing with. With my kids is for sure Creature Comforts, low weight and adorable art is perfect for them. Casual with my wife is Cascadia. Game group used to be Root, but we are really into Ark Nova right now. I love your videos and have very similar tastes in games! Thanks as always!

Just got ‘Three Sisters’ and ‘Cascadia’ today! The snapshots made me even more excited to get them to the table! ‘Wingspan’ has been on the list for aaaages, I don’t know why it’s taking me so long.
My favourite game with animals would have to be ‘Everdell’’. And ‘Honey Buzz’, which I guess is a bug game but their business would flop without bears!
I think Honey Buzz counts!!! Bees are animals!! Love that game

I love Cascadia and Honey Buzz! Honey Buzz is just so unique and I love building the honeycomb to take action. Also, love Cascadia because it is just SO easy to teach and get to the table!

My kids are constantly ranking things and asking me- what's you favorite color, animal, song, number, Pokemon, movie, etc. I can't pick a favorite anything. I don't have favorites, I have moods. Right now I've been in the mood to play a ton of Ark Nova.
I feel that!! We need to get it played
My favorite game with an animal theme right now is evolution. It’s relatively easy to learn and I enjoy that you can build an engine earlier in the game and get to use it for quite some time before it busts. I see a lot of Root and Everdelle comments and those are currently added to the top of the ‘get next’ list!
Evolution is one we’ve wanted to try for awhile! We’ve heard very good things about it.

TIL that “snap shot” is a thing in hockey. Still not exactly sure what it is, but I know you have to yell, “BIDJAAA!!”
Anyhoo, the game that came to mind for me is Fabled Fruit. Not only do you get a variety of animals to admire, but the game involves making smoothies. Not sure how that makes any sense, but there you go.

You've been an amazing guide to the hobby. My favorite game that has animals in it is actually Ark Nova, although I've only been able to see it played, and not actually play it myself. My favourite game about animals is got to be 5 minute mystery! I just love the art and the mystery.
My favorite animal is a wolf, favorite bird is a bluejay, and favorite game with animals is unstable unicorns! I’ve been off and on debating buying the wingspan app because you always talk about how much fun the game is, but I definitely like playing a board game more in person and that’s the only thing I’m bumping on about the app version!
I get that 100% - I have not played the Wingspan app (I think Jamie has) - but I agree with you for sure
I go back and forth between Everdell & Root as my #1 game. This week it's Root. But if we are going off my household as a whole, Stardew Valley all the way. What's not to like about petting your chickens and cows and goats?! 😍 And the animal dice are so freaking cute! Hubs plays, my mom plays, my teenager plays - it's our #1.
We just recently got a copy of Stardew after a long wait - excited to try it! (I LOVE the video game)
@@FostertheMeeple I'm a huge fan of the video game as well! Currently working on 100% perfection...slowly. 🤣 I hope y'all include it in a snapshot or review. The more we play, the more we love it. And it's super easy to adjust the difficulty level using your own tweaks or the variants and tips they include in rules!
Do monsters count as animals.. ? 😂 If so, I'd maybe say Dungeon Mayhem ? Wait, no, Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion ! 😂 I haven't had the chance to play Root or Everdell or Wingspan yet (I'm new to the boardgaming community !!)
But I hope to try and play lots of new games in the near future ! ☺️

Our favorite games right now with animals would be New York zoo and then Beez (guess that’s an insect but it kind of counts!). Our family is only into gaming this year but we adore family games and Disney so your TH-cam channel is our must watch when new videos come out!

Favorite Board Game with Animals: I'll pick something different, Explorers of the North Sea. You have four Vikings in long boats, and you sail around grabbing animals from islands and bringing them back to your village.

We backed Three Sisters a while back, and we had a lot of fun playing it when we first got it! We really enjoyed the combo-crunchiness of the game, and I agree with Jamie that the farming theme is more appealing than Fleet the Dice Game. With regard of my favorite game with animals, Calico is our favorite puzzle game that includes cats!
Calico is such a great brain burner, and....CATS!
Cascadia is amazing! It's so smooth & meditative, and it scratches that puzzle itch.
For what it's worth, my favorite animal is the mantis shrimp.

Wingspan is probably my favorite boardgame involving animals. I have already spent a good chunk of change on upgrades. We bought little minis off of meeplesource (my wife always plays as puffins, and I, the peregrine falcon). This game has sooo much goodness, strategic choices, high replayability, educational, beautiful art. Cascadia is a wonderful game. Quick to set up and play, but definitely offers some crunchiness underneath simple mechanics. Thanks for the quick snapshots of the other games.

Our favorite animal game lately has been Ark Nova. We’ve gone so far as to upgrade with tiny animals for our zoos. Prior to that it was Isle of Cats which we were playing weekly there for a while.

We got Cuphead a few weeks ago because Foster the Meeple mentioned it in a video a while ago. It’s quickly moved up to our top ten. We love it!
Our favorite animal game hands down is Isle of Cats. It feels like that and Azul brought my wife into the hobby after just one play.

My first pick for a game featuring animals would definitely be Root, but in my collection I’ve also got Cascadia, Parks and Campy Creatures (which fits the bill for mythical/fantastical creatures). But yeah, love me some Root. Got the latest expansion, but haven’t had a group to play it with yet!

@@FostertheMeepleWe just played Kohaku again this past Monday. I don't know if there's a difference between KS and retail versions, but if there is you should try and get the version with the chunky acrylic tiles. The artwork/production for the game is really nice. (Quackalope has a fun two-player playthrough on their channel.)

You two are evil for making me choose a favorite. However, not sure if this counts, but I have to say Dungeons & Dragons. If it doesn't count, then probably Unstable Unicorns. Everdell and Root are two animal based games that I want to try, but my FLGS doesn't have either base game in stock, so I have to wait until they can get more copies in. They're also out of Wingspan's base game.

I feel weird every time I tell people this but I love Enchanted Plumes! Building up you peacock feathers is a lot more fun then it sounds :) I guess it is my favorite animal theme game.

My favorite game with fictional animal is Familiar Tales! It features Blaze and Gribbert but also fictional creatures like Chalk and Flicker! ❤️

Hi, really enjoyed this video. Saw some games I definitely want to check out. I haven't played Cascadia or Wingspan yet, but they are on my list - once I have the funds to get them or find a place to try them out. I don't have many games that have animals or are animal based, but it came between Dinosaur World and Mice and Mystics. I had to go with Mice and Mystics as much as I enjoy Dinosaur World - I love the Jurassic Park movies! Mice and Mystics is adorable, I love dungeon crawl type games, it has a fun story, and it is easier to get to our table than Gloomhaven; still slogging through that. I always have a good time playing Mice and Mystics, and with abilities with awesome names like Battle Squeak how can you go wrong.
We haven't played Mice & mystics yet! But we love plaid hat games, good choice!

My favourite animal game(s) would be either Calico, it was my first game I bought and I have played it many times with my fiancé. Or, it is Cascadia, I’ve really enjoyed that recently, especially that I grew up in the “Cascadia” region in BC!

Favorite game with an animal theme has got to be Root! It is hard to get to the table physically, but is such a blast every time we do.

I think creature comforts is my favorite animal game... At the moment. because I played it most recently. But I also own wingspan, root and everdell so it's really hard to decide 🤣
For creature comforts the Kickstarter edition came with 2 small expansions. One is secret objectives for each player and the other is special roles for each players. E.g.: Carver : when you craft any comfort that includes wood in the cost, you gain a book from the supply.
These expansions help make the game asymmetric 😁

Great Vid (as usual!) --- I might have to go with Fleet the Dice Game (and actually Fleet the original) as My Fav. game with animals in the theme. --- Fleet the Dice Game is So Meaty (kindof a pun there) for a Roll n Write and my buddy and I usually have to play it 2 or 3 games in a row... 🙂 --- kindof a brain burner tho! I was going to say Root as my favourite animal game, but then I thought about playing Familiar Tales with my kids... and THEN I remembered the animals in Wonderland's War, and that's gotta be it for me. (I think jabberwocky counts as a fictional animal)

I’d say currently Cascadia is my favourite animal game. Preciously it might have been NY Zoo or King of Tokyo as I always play the Panda (made up animals in King of Tokyo). Creature Comforts looks so adorable. 🥰

My favorite animal is probably a moose. After seeing one in person they are sooooo tall and majestic! my favorite bird is Ravens! So intelligent and curious! and my favorite game so far involving animals has been Everdell. I've been trying to save up for Root, and will hopefully own it one day!

My favorite animal-related game is probably Root by Leder Games. I love the sorta "grown up Redwall" vibes and the animal meeples! Gameplay wise it's super deep and nuanced.

We love Three Sisters! It fixes the few issues I have with Fleet Dice, which is mainly you can have a bad die roll in Fleet, but there's never a bad roll in Three Sisters. I also can't wait for Motor City!
The KS version of Creature Comforts came with the asymmetric player powers, called Talents. I'm really sad that they made those KS exclusive because I feel the same as you and really enjoy having that difference between the players. Hopefully they'll do an expansion at some point and make more of those along with the personal goals (Dreams) that were also KS exclusive.

Favorite game with Animals? Maybe Racoon Tycoon right now? Love Cascadia! Does Scythe count there is a bear in it? Really love Wingspan & Everdell but don't own either my son has copies of those and he lives a few hours away, they always get played when I visit. Why do I have to choose? I honestly dont have any games involving animals, but I did pick up Cascadia and so Id say even though I haven't played it, it's my favorite for the art work!

I'd definitely recommend it! It was a Kickstarter campaign that arrived back in February or March of this year. We really enjoy it either to start off the night or as a 'refresher' between games. The mechanics and theme are cool and it can double as a more relaxed game or as more of a brain-burner depending on how you approach it. It's the creator's first game so we didn't know what to expect but found ourselves pleasantly surprised. And the artwork is amazing!

I love the presentation and it was one of the earliest “wow” moments that really got me into games.
I think a lot of people would echo that sentiment. Everdell was; and still is a beautiful production
Grimm Forest is our favorite Its such a cute and simple game that plays very quickly, yet still provides enough strategy to be thinky. Plus it plays well at two which is our usual player count, and also fairy tales.... :)
